CountArach
Well I am soon to take over from Jayavarman, who has run out of time to update this mod and I was wondering what suggestions you had for it. I will try to make anything that seems feasible work, though I would obviously prioritise good ideas. Some things I want to do: Update Numbers More realistic outcomes in the primaries More realistic endorsers Include all third parties Accurate primaries for all third parties
Kauai
It seems like Florida is about to have a redo, so most likely Florida would be a lot further back now. But if you could re-add them, that would be good. Word has yet to come out on Michigan. One thing that buggs the hell out of me is Fundraising, while I realize this may not be possible, Hillary raised over a million dollars after hew Iowa loss, and Obama 1.2 million after his NH loss. Even more for wins. Obama recently raised 45 million in a month, while Hillary raised 32 million. Any chance we can rack this up a lot more? And tie it to momentum? One way to make it so you get more money later on instead of early, is perhaps making momentum harder to get? ---------------------------- I'm not sure if you should add ALL the smaller parties. [ Con. Libertarian. & Green only ] Since they seem to rack up around 1-2% everytime. And I don't want to see Socialist's or ther Centrist party and all the other smaller ones, taking up 10% of the vote. Make Hillary go up one at Debating. It's been said many times over, she is better at Debates, and yet they are both at 3. Also. Could you send me the latest version?
CountArach
1. About Florida and Michigan - when the official rulings from the DNC I shall add it in. From what I have read, Michigan may have a Caucus in June. Thank you for reminding me though, I am going to take Obama/Edwards off the ballot in Michigan and Florida. 2. Fundraising is already tied into Momentum, with the more momentum you have the more money you earn. I can't modify this, though I can change the rate at which money is earnt. I will have a further look into it. 3. About the small parties, I have a system going that is stifling the minor parties well, but it leaves them almost unplayable. They are still great IMo for a bit of flavour though. 4. Fair enough with the debating, I will look into it again. 5. Jayavarman is releasing a new version this weekend. Sum1
I found that the new December version allowed for wildly inaccurate results - for example, I managed to win as Duncan Hunter.

Yes I have seen this as well. The new version will be more accurate.

Jayavarman
Events may be needed to simulate Obama's cash advantage post-Iowa compared to Clinton. Also, try to hassle TheorySpark for more modding capabilities.
Jayavarman
Make Hillary go up one at Debating. It's been said many times over, she is better at Debates, and yet they are both at 3. I have yet to see headlines blaring that Clinton dominated debates, nor any momentum coming out of them. Let them be equal and hope the roll of the die simulates New Hampshire crying moments. Jayavarman
Richardson needs to be set to have very good relations with Obama to reflect today's endorsement. Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana should also be listed as a possible VP of Clinton considering speculation as he helps her win his state. Kauai
I have yet to see headlines blaring that Clinton dominated debates, nor any momentum coming out of them. Let them be equal and hope the roll of the die simulates New Hampshire crying moments. During the Wisconsin primary, - when I was watching CNN & Fox, people on both channels talked about how debates we're Clinton's territory, and how she did good in them. [ Obama declined a debate in the state, which sparked the conversation. ] I think the problem is Obama is rated to high, Clinton isn't a five, but Obama isn't a four. The fact of the matter is there have been a bazillion debates since May, and Clinton only declined in the polls through March 2008. Thus, I see it as counter-reality and counter-simulation by Clinton getting momentum boosts in P4Ever from "winning" debates ingame.
Abe Lincoln
Add Alan Keyes as a Constitution canidate, he's still a republican but is preparing to leave the party and a recent Constitution Party poll placed him first on their list of presidental canidates. CountArach
In the interest of letting everyone know what is going on I can report the following: 5 Libertarian Candidates are now in the game, all with accurately modelled platforms and polling. 2 Constitution Party Candidates are now in the game - this will be added to in the near future. Ralph Nader is in the game And now for the best news of all: Most of the time all of the third party candidates get below 1% of the overall vote! The Green Party is next. Re: Debates - I'm undecided on this. It is generally considered by both candidates, pundits and Democratic bloggers (Such as DailyKos) that Clinton is better at the Debates and Obama is better at speeches. Seeing as there is no way to reflect Obama's better speeches, I am unsure about the debates. Re: Richardson - Sounds fair enough to me. Re: Evan Bayh - Will be added, along with a couple of others for both parties. Re: Alan Keyes - I added him today before reading that actually

CountArach
How about Lou Dobbs as an optional independent candidate? Maybe in the future, for now though I would like to get the confirmed candidates done.

MatthewBreuer
Really excited for this, the updates sound great. Also, if Dobbs ever gets added, I'd love to be able to use him as a punching bag.
hcallega
Can i get a copy at hcallega@yahoo.com Also, i think that Dobbs should be in the game but off by default. I think that the same should be done with Bloomberg, even though he's not running, because he would have ran had someone other than McCain or Obama being the likely nominees. I would have Bloomberg be somewhere around 13% nationally, and Dobbs at about 8%. I think that Bloomberg should do well in rich, liberal states (Connecticut, Washington etc.) Dobbs should do well in western states where illegal immigration is a major issue. hurricanedude96
Little bug fix, not sure if you're aware - in 2.0.4 beta, McCain never gets any votes in Wyoming in the primaries or general election (if he is the nominee.) Pretty easy to rectify, just letting you know though Another note - Mike Gravel will be running as a Libertarian. Any chance he'll be added? CountArach
Well I have come to a little problem with the Green Party. Their Primaries aren't working how they should for a reason I can't figure out. It may take me a while to fix that. However, I have just about finished the other minor parties (Constitution, Libertarian and Ralph Nader). I am at a stage where I could definitely release Version 3 within a week and it would work fine, but there would be no Greens in it. So, I was wondering what people want me to do - release a mostly-complete version this week, OR take my time fixing the Green Party, which could take a couple of weeks, or perhaps a bit more. So yeah, any thoughts?
