I would like to make some scenarios of old elections (1976 and 1980 come to mind) but finding the issue positions of candidates such as Mo Udall, Birch Bayh, and Harold Baker, among others, is quite hard. How do other people remedy this? Is there some site that has all positions? I know 4president.org has some old campaign brochures, but those don't have everything...

You need books. Mostly biographies, but campaign books (such as Jules Witcover's series from 1976 to 1992) are also useful as they give at least a cursory look at all or most candidates.

Advertising analysis books are also good as they talk about ads, which generally contain some issues. There's various other campaign books as listed in the BOOKS thread.
