I now have decided to tackle the 2000 election! Give me about week or so to do this. If anybody want to help with me come up with some issues to replace Iran, Iraq, HLS, War on terror be my guest! Am pretty sure ever other issues they have in game was talk about 2000.

Here what I came up with Ethics, Campaign reform, Surplus but I need one more!

Let's see. I would add (with possible stances):

-Death Penalty (became a big issue even though both Bush and Gore supported it)

  • Far-Left: Ban the Death Penalty at the national level.
  • Left: There should be state moratoriums on the Death Penalty.
  • Center-Left: The Death Penalty should remain in place but not be used.
  • Center: The Death Penalty should remain in place but not be used too frequently.
  • Center-Right: The Death Penalty should remain in place and be used as a deterrent.
  • Right: The Death Penalty should be used frequently.
  • Far-Right: Establish a national Death Penalty and use for all major crimes.

-Clinton Scandals

  • Far-Left: It's the Republicans who should have been impeached!
  • Left: Clinton did a great job. The impeachment inquiry was a partisan witch-hunt.
  • Center-Left: Clinton did a fine job. The impeachment inquiry was a waste of time.
  • Center: Clinton did some things that might have been illegal, but impeachment was a waste of time.
  • Center-Right: Clinton did some things that were illegal and it was appropriate to impeach him.
  • Right: Clinton broke the law and should have been removed from office.
  • Far-Right: Forget about the Lewinsky scandal, he sold weapons technology to China!

-Nation-Building

  • Far-Left: Nation-building is really empire-building.
  • Left: Nation-building is a great policy.
  • Center-Left: Nation-building can be a good idea sometimes.
  • Center: Nation-building should be approached with great caution...if at all.
  • Center-Right: The U.S. should not engage in nation-building unless absolutely necessary.
  • Right: The U.S. should never engage in nation-building.
  • Far-Right: The U.S. should bring all troops home and pull out of world affairs that don't concern us.

For positions I'd do:

Bush:

Death Penalty-CR

Clinton Scandals-CR

Nation-Building-CR

Gore:

Death Penalty-C

Clinton Scandals-CL

Nation-Building-CL

Nader:

Death Penalty-FL

Clinton Scandals-L

Nation-Building-FL

Buchanan:

Death Penalty-CR

Clinton Scandals-R

Nation-Building-FR

Those are three I can think of now. If I remember more I'll post them.

I'd use these stances for the issues instead:

-Death Penalty

* Far-Left: Ban the Death Penalty at the national level.

* Left: There should be state moratoriums on the Death Penalty.

* Center-Left: The Death Penalty should remain in place but not be used.

* Center: The Death Penalty should remain in place but not be used too frequently.

* Center-Right: The Death Penalty should remain in place and be used as a deterrent.

* Right: More crimes should be worthy of the death penalty.

* Far-Right: We need to dramatically expand the death penalty!

-Lewinsky Affair

* Far-Left: Clinton did nothing wrong.

* Left: The impeachment inquiry was a partisan witch-hunt, Clinton's private life had nothing to do with his Presidency.

* Center-Left: What Clinton did privately was wrong, but it did no harm to the nation's interest.

* Center: What Clinton did was wrong, and impeachment should of been considered.

* Center-Right: Clinton should of been impeached for his affair.

* Right: Clinton should of been impeached, and should be on trial for breaking the law.

* Far-Right: Clinton should be arrested for his crimes!

(Note: Personally, I don't think the affair should be an issue ingame, even though it really was an issue, it justs seems, well, odd to me, having a thing about all his scandals is odd too, just imagine 2008 having "Bush Scandals" as an issue)

-Nation-Building

* Far-Left: Nation-building is really empire-building that exploits countries in return for profit.

* Left: Nation-building is a great policy and should be used to further humanitarian causes.

* Center-Left: Nation-building can be a good idea sometimes, but only for humanitarian causes.

* Center: Nation-building should be approached with great caution, if at all.

* Center-Right: The U.S. should not engage in nation-building unless absolutely necessary.

* Right: The U.S. should never engage in nation-building.

* Far-Right: The U.S. should bring all troops home and pull out of world affairs that don't concern us.
