Tony, great job! Two things -

Make Texas vote GOP more often. I saw Hillary win it with 53%. Also, when it says the high scores on the front page. It doesn't let you delete the old ones. It just resets the historical settings. You should change that. But everything else was great. Also, when are the other scenerios being released? And with Congress 4 Ever be out soon?

Don't know if you've already been told but there's a bug during save. I think it only happens when reload a game you saved during the same session and try to save again. I've avoided it so far by restarting the game each time I want to reload.

I'm not sure I agree. Though, most of the bugs are ironed out. Now there is a new one. And this new one is even worse. Now the game freezes up and crashes. At least with the other dozen bugs, I could still play the game until it was patched. Now I can't play it at all. I upgraded to version 1.00.3 and I keep getting "flotation" error, followed by the "list index out of bounds error. Then the game won't let me continue.

Anyone else having this problem?

As for the state percentiles, I too have noticed the Reps doing "extremely" well in Massachuesetts and the Dems doing very well in Utah and Mississippi and Alabama. The chances of a Dem taking Utah, Idaho, Mississippi or Alabama, or a Republican taking Vermont, Massachuesetts, or Rhode Island are quite minute. It has been done before, but "rarely". So this really oughta be fixed when the other bugs are ironed out.

Two questions which may or may not be relevant to this:

1) What does "universal alienated" mean in the percentages.xml file? In the old P4E, I could usually tweak a state to keep it close or not close by changing the number of strongly committed and undecided voters. However, I'm not sure what to do with this particular number in this case.

2) Does it matter if you wait until after the conventions to pick states for your general election strategy, or will the opposing party be laying groundwork in those states and get an advantage over you as a result?

I just had an interesting game as Bush in '04. I decided to run without primary opposition (that way I could screw with the Democratic primaries and make sure that Howard Dean won  ) I saw early on that Kerry and Edwards were running first and second respectively with Dean in third so I started attacking them. At the same time, I was constantly running tv ads in all the red states and swing states for the general election.

I was starting to really pull away in the general election map so I looked at the Democratic map. To my surprise, Lieberman was starting to mount a serious challenge to Dean. Not wanting to face Lieberman in the general, I offered him the VP slot on my ticket and he accepted quit easily. :o This basically gave the nomination to Dean and every other opponent of his dropped out within two weeks.

Needless to say I went on to wipe the floor against Dean. Wasn't hard, what I really wanted to see was how I could influence the other side's primaries. It was fun, but still a bit unrealistic (the Lieberman thing especially).

Overall a great improvement!

Hi NEPoliSciIndyGuy,

Knowing the answers to a few questions will help us to find and fix this bug.

1. Had you saved and then loaded before you got the "flotation" error?

2. Does it happen every game?

3. Are there specific steps you can take to reproduce this error? If so, could you tell us what they are?

If anyone else has this error, your info would be greatly appreciated.

Ronnie - I had a similar experience in a game I ran last night. I was playing as Edwards and I was winning my primary but we were behind the Republicans nationally. I offered the VP-ship to Romney and that made a massive difference - Gingrich won the nomination in the end and Romney brough a large number of his supporters with him it seems. Almost all Republican states went undecided that turn with a couple (incl. Florida) giving me an 8 point + lead. In the end I finished with a very nice 72% and every state but two or three (Idaho being one of them).

Sadly no whitewashes as was possible in the previous version as yet (I had received every state and c. 80% of the vote on a couple of occassions playing as Romney, Kerry and Clark) though. ;)

Hi skywalkr2,

The next update (1.00.6) should fix this bug, but it won't let you load a saved game from 1.00.5.x - so the unfortunate answer is that particular game probably can't be finished.

Just got a "List index out of bounds (-1)" while pretty far along into a game (darn it). I cannot get past this issue. It wont let me go to the next turn. What information can I give you to help find the issue?

PS this is with version 1.00.5.1

I recently purchased PF+Prime and was disappointed to see that the create candidate was not available yet. I also wanted to download the newest patch .5 so I sent a email to the update email address but still have not received anything. How long does it take to received a reply and any clue as to when the create candidate and other advertised scenarios will be released?
