HorckDude
As Dutchmen I loved playing all the US scenarios for President Forever, but I always wanted to play my own country for a change. Holland may not have a President, but I'm currently working on a scenario for 2006, in which there will be presidential elections. Along with the other democratic reform (elected mayor) which will take place for the first time in 2006, the royal family will step down to have an elected president become the head of state. The playing map is done, the issues are set out, various province statistics entered (also all provincial flags) and all the major party's are in place. Now I only need to add the various candidates and their platforms. To create his scenario the Australia scenario was a great example, as this was the first non-US scenario, so I'd like to thank the maker of the scenario for it. I made a screenshot of the 12 provinces in which you can campaign: You'll notice the Australia scenario candidate for now, but as I said, that will change soon. I'll keep you update on my progress. Why don't you have a decendent of the royals run?
Carrifel
the smigin of Dutch in me is saying "YES!", and the other parts in me are saying "YES!". Anyways, it looks really cool, can't wait to see it
Hardrightconservative
Hi HorckDude, How is the Dutch scenario going?
HorckDude
Hello people. I've been away for quite a few weeks but I'm back and getting to continue working on PF scenarios. I see there are loads of new posts and users since I last came here so I have some reading to catch up on. Also, when I left I had the highest postcount here. Now I must be at the bottom of the list somewhere. In the past weeks I've been on a vacation, introduction week to university and last monday my first classes in political science started. And I can tell you it's extremely interesting! About the scenarios: I'm getting back to the Holland scenario and I have a good world map in progress. I worked on it for 2 hours this evening and have finished only North- and South-America, but that's how long it takes if you wanna do it right. When it's done I'll be doing the two scenarios I suggested (1945 world election and present world election).
Tom
as soon as you have the world map working could you send it to me? I also have some scenarios I'd like to do with a world map! Thanks!
YoungCTrep
Horack Dude youd be my savior if you did a world map.... If Tom does the Risk like game with Democracy, Islamic, Commi, Facisim it would be the best game ever
SSVegeta123243
why would islam be included in a game about types of governments?
HorckDude
Because Islam is being used as a base for a lot of governments. 300 years ago you would've been able to add Christian to the list too, but at this point Christians no longer control governments. Wilhelmus
As a Dutchman I think I will love this scenario, but why not add Dutch names and Dutch parties ?
HorckDude
I will I will release two version of the scenario, a dutch version and an english one. I think that you have more of a dutch feeling of all the issues and newspaper articles are in dutch, but I don't want it to be a scenario for dutch-only, so I will do a translation. Btw, I recently added the Dutch antilles and Aruba (islands in de caribean) to the map. Right now the Netherlands, the Dutch antilles and the island of Aruba are part of the Kingdom, but I assume that if Holland would become a republic under a President the entire kingdom would be able to vote for it's head of state. So you can also travel to the islands in the Caribean to pick up one or two electoral votes.
K-uglen
Sounds like an interesting scenario. I've considered doing the same for my own country (Denmark), with a similar story to yours. Divide the country into the current 14 counties, have Liberal Party, Socialdemocrats, Conservatives and Socialist Party running. It would be nice if the primaries version was out, so more than four parties could be included (seeing as there are eight represented in the Danish parliament). This scenario sounds great HorckDude I am really looking forward to it.
