Supreme Incompetent Leader
So I intend on this being a discussion board, not a demands board. I recently heard from a Knowledge Hub video that old media content (in this case and for sake of discussion, games) which is no longer available to buy from the publisher/seller on the Internet is probably elligible for an upload to an internet archive of some type to preserve them as an interactive type of media. And with 270soft/80soft's (btw, what is significant about the "80" anyways?) unique role of being a studio which makes strictly history-related or based games, I think the reasoning and argument to preserve these games is even stronger. So what if they're not able to be made money off of anymore? Neither is stuff like Balloon Tower Defense 4 or S.A.S. Zombie Assault 3, but they're still playable because people like me grew up witht hem as kids. The campaign editors for P4E08 allowed for some great scenarios to be made, especially historical ones. The point I'm trying to make is that enabling old 270/80soft games to be archived (ones that aren't being sold in any form) would cement their legacy online, and keep them alive in an "after-death" state for years to come. It would mean nothing buisness-wise, but it would community-wise.

The problem from a publisher's perspective is that people then want customer support and it acts as a drag on forward development (people playing the old games instead of the new). 80soft is a shortened version of "Eighty Dimensional Software," which used to be the company's name.

I think the only way to solve the first part of that issue is to make it clear that the games are no longer supported, so any bugs found and/or issues are inherent to them-they can't be fixed, play the newer versions. For the second issue, I think that's the upside to companies like Ubisoft-if people want to go back to a "better" Assassin's Creed game, they can if they want to, but they still have the option to always play the new ones. Of course, morons won't understand what "no support" means, but then again they're morons for a reason.
Supreme Incompetent Leader
Also I'm not gonna lie, it'd be funny to see a revival of the old games' popularity online. I don't know if it'd happen, but boy would it be funny.
