  1. 1. What is the most likely outcome after the election?

    • Biden wins, and Trump contests the election.
    • Trump wins, and Biden contests the election.
    • Biden wins, Trump doesn't contest the election.
    • Trump wins, Biden doesn't contest the election.
    • There is a giant meteor that strikes the Earth before Nov. 3rd. There is no election.

What would qualify as contesting the election. I could see him not conceding, but not actively contesting it. I could see him conceding, but then calling it rigged and a hoax, and that he should do something about it (but then not doing anything). I could see him sueing the election commission for a recount or investigation even if he loses by 350+ EVs. I could see him refusing to leave the White House until security arrives. I could see him conceding and saying, "Really, I think it was unfair and that I really won. Biden's an illegal president. They'll soon see" and then not doing anything. I doubt he acts professional and standard about it.

Up to the individual poll respondents to decide. 😀 But something significant beyond just saying the other party didn't 'really' win.

I said Biden wins and Trump contests as in he says that it's "rigged or a hoax", but doesn't actively attempt to change results, since GOP members will likely talk him down.

All, American elections for decades have been rigged, as I've often said. There would be no genius analysis by Trump (except a self-serving spin on an already established fact).

I expect Biden wins but Trump refuses to ever vacate the White House, no matter how many appeals, etc, he loses.  #FakeNews

Legally, if he's not conceding, but all the organs of power have moved on or realized a fight is futile, I don't think he has any special powers or exemptions to remain in the White House as the Presidential office-holder until he, personally, is satisfied with the results and concedes. He could, at that point, just be escorted out as a trespasser - perhaps with his gathered and screaming bloody murder on the Mall - but, after all, we've already had about two years of other powerless protests, so that one wouldn't change anything, either, would it?

We'll see.  At this point, the remnants of the Republican party is so tied to Trump that they could well back his claim until his dying day.

Sounds like the makings of a Republic-based version of the Jacobite Dynastic Claims Drama...

Okay, so saying Biden wins, right? While Trump contests it, the staff initiate the procedure for arresting him. In response he grabs the nuclear football and threatens to launch everything unless they back off. For two months he literally holds the world hostage! Can you imagine that? It'll be the Cuban Missile Crisis all over again.

If that happened, that's the closest the US will come to a political scenario advocating civil war since the civil rights era.

@Wiw

Thank you for picking 'giant meteor strikes the Earth'! If no one had picked it and it happened, all the know-it-alls on the forum would have to hide their faces in shame.

Agreed, but that isn't the issue, is it?

We've already established he'll destroy the world if he loses and is threatened with being arrested! He's crazy enough to do it! But if he isn't arrested... it's possible that he'll run in the next election. After all, he'll be encouraged by how close he'll come this time.
