Alright! Who's the reformists, who's the hardliners, who're the nationalists?

Hmm... I'm only replying to this because I was "mentioned" in the original post, but really, East Germany 1990? I barely have time for historical U.S. campaigns, much less for now-defunct Communist states. I'll leave that to the socialists amongst us. I really don't know which of those 3 I'd fit into since they're a bit subjective. It's like a while back when there were a bunch of post-1865 Confederate States campaigns. Because then you have to almost make up fictional candidates and... well if I don't know the candidates or care much about the outcome I have a very difficult time putting any effort into it.

@Wiw's analysis of the electoral factions is quite flawed and underresearched. The 1990 East Germany election was after the Peaceful Revolution of 1989 and the Fall of the Berlin Wall. They were, it the first, and, as it turned out, only multi-party, free-and-fair elections in that nation's history, and German unification was just a matter of months later. Also, as for this statement, " I barely have time for historical U.S. campaigns, much less for now-defunct Communist states. I'll leave that to the socialists amongst us," this viewpoint is the path to foolishness and self-sabotage. Studying history in as broad and deep and global a sense of possible is ALWAYS of benefit to someone who views themselves as educated and with conviction - restricting one's education and knowledge artificially on the premise of ideology and/or nationality is a willing shot in the foot. Your playing yourself, and may end up not coming out ahead. You've already made a fool of yourself quite a few times here by stating concepts like "Communism," "Islam," and others as though speaking with authority as though you knew what you were talking about, but only quoting bad, braindead, and completely incorrect stereotypes for a large part - and then when I corrected you, using those terms in the EXACT same lamebrain way again later, claiming you'd said nothing amiss. You corrected me some things I'd said about Libertarianism, and said I should read more about it - and I did! And I asked at that time if you had read the actual, real, definition of words like Communism, to stop using them in noxious and embarrassingly incorrect, and you said had little inclination to do so. Do you HONESTLY expect willful and proud lack of education and spewing of stupid stereotypes to garner respect and credence in discussion as though you actually knew what you were talking about?

Aaaah, nice to be back. And it's nice to see you again too, sir, I see our relationship is bobbing along just as well as always. All I said was I'm not interested in 1990 East Germany and that perhaps socialists would be more interested. It's called a JOKE. Would I have encountered this level of ire if I expressed the same disinterest in... say, 1898 Italy?

It's hard to tell when you're joking and when you're not, because the subject matter and presentation of your "jokes," are always so unfunny and offputting. As for the idea of shunning, deriding, or turning a blind eye to certain types of learning deliberately and taking a smug pride in it, a quote a teacher of mine in high school gave to me - I can't for the life of me remember who coined it, but it's a good one,

"Knowledge and education are always power, willful and proud lack of knowledge and refusal to learn is handing power over yourself to others,"

Whatever, I'm done arguing with you. I left this forum temporarily because it was taking too much of my time and causing too much stress. Most of that wasted time was getting into pointless sidetracks. So I'm back, but my intention is to just focus on the positive, and disregard this frothing rage you seem to have toward me. I am what I am, you are what you are. Neither of us are perfect. I have strong controversial, mostly right wing opinions and I am VERY forceful in expressing them. I make absolutely no apologies for that. You apparently... never mind, I won't even bother speculating on what your issue with me is. I don't have time to waste trying to understand you, or explain myself to you. So I'm done. If you are ever interested in rational, even if heated, discussion, contact me. Until then, I'm just going to ignore your rants, I won't even attempt to justify myself to you. Life's too short.

The first two posts you returned with (on this thread, and the 2020 scenario complaints) were far from a "change to the positive." It was typical fair for what I remember of you. Such an attempt at turnaround is highly disingenuous, thus. But, I guess, like your idol Donald Trump believes about himself, you can't accept even the possibility of fault in yourself - everything and every issue must be because else is to blame or is incorrect. You should look in the mirror. I already have, several times in my life. What's there (at least metaphorically) is ugly for everyone - but facing it is a necessary step in self-betterment for everyone. Have a nice life!

Alright, that "difficult," roundabout discussion last time this thread was posted on in February moving behind us, I am moving forward and can see a definite end point. It, and other fan made scenarios, of which I have a huge queue that I would like to get done rather than posting endless '80's "punk culture," style "rage against the machine," and "stick it to the man," posts, which are highly unproductive and probably not good, in the long term, for my mental (or coronary) health.
