Rand Paul Campaigns in Spencer, IA

Sen. Paul visited Spencer, Iowa where he spoke about the importance of protecting gun rights.

"I firmly believe that the 2nd Amendment is the most important Constitutional amendment that we have.  Without the guaranteed gun rights, the rest of our rights would be a risk from the government.  The 2nd Amendment gives the people an ultimate check on government power.  The limits to the power of the government are clearly laid out in the Constitution, and if the government starts to infringe upon those rights, the people can demand action.  If the infringement of the people's rights advances to tyranny, the people can rise up and protect their rights themselves.  Of course the big government folks want to take infringe upon your 2nd Amendment rights.  Because they know that this is the major obstacle to even more government control.  Don't be fooled by those trying to make infringements upon gun rights as just 1 tiny step that won't go any further.  They will take any ground that we give and then come back for more later.  Instead, we must fight to cut back on the infringements that already exists.  In your state legislatures, fight for constitutional carry.  In Washington, call your representatives and tell them to oppose any further gun legislation.  As President, I would fight tooth and nail against any new gun control laws.  And, I will not give in to the anti-gun lobby who seeks to take away your rights no matter what they throw at me."

Secretary Clinton Campaigns in Sioux City

In Sioux City, Iowa, Secretary Clinton spoke on free trade. "I've said this in the past, and I'll say it in the future: free trade is American trade. Soy and corn farmers here in this part of Iowa heavily rely on not just Americans to consume their products, but the global market. When you send your corn to the market, there's an entire supply chain within the US you go through. US rail operators, longshoremen at the ports. Grain elevator workers. The list goes on, because of the crop. The TPP, insures that this two crops will be not just in the soil in Iowa; but in the dinner plates across the globe. This trade deal reassures US's place in a world where anti-democratic nations are on the rise."

Sec Clinton lands in Dallas, Texas

At a high school in the historic Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, Clinton spoke to the voters, "Texas arguably has one of the worst healthcare systems within the nation- noother way to argue it. It is a systemic problem that forces families into bankruptcy because of an illness. Families are scared to go to the doctor, not because he is mean, but of the gross copays that come after the visit. My plan will not be a big lie in nationalizing the industry as many might tell you, or simply have the free market fix the problems. We tried the free market approach before Obamacare, and it was far from perfect. My plan, the most realistic plan, is allowing everyone in this audience to have a choice to buy into their private Blue Cross/Blue Shield, or into Medicare."

Mrs. Fiorina visits Merrimack, New Hampshire to talk about the importance of a clear and consistent Trade Policy

Hello Merrimack! It's great to be back in the Granite State and great to be talking about issues of great consequence. One of the biggest issues in the headlines today is that our Free Trade or Fair Trade. Of course, we want our trade to be both Free and Fair so it sounds like a bit of a tough choice. And it truly is. We have quite a few members of the Left as well as Donald Trump telling us that Free Trade has let us down, while a lot of Republicans remain optimistic on the issue. Well, this is where I stand. I strongly believe that the Trump/Nader solution of more government and more tariffs meaning more taxes and higher prices for Americans is not a smart idea. Starting a trade war with close allies like Canada and Mexico would be disastrous to American industry. If we were to put in place the draconian protectionist measures proposed by the Far-Left, people like Ralph Nader, Bernie Sanders, and Sherrod Brown, as well as apparently Donald Trump, who continuously supports Leftist policies much to my bewilderment, what we would see is an overall collapse in stock prices and a spike in prices for goods like cars, furniture, gas, minerals, and dozens of other products we trade with our neighbors on the North American continent. And this is something I know intimately. I'm the only one running for President that has actually created manufacturing jobs. Donald likes to talk about how we creates jobs, well in between his 4 bankruptcies, he has never created a single job creating an American-made product, I have. So I know exactly what's going on with our manufacturing sector from the top down and bottom up. As the CEO of HP what we saw was radical increases in the amount of American workers that we hired and as the economy did well, so did we. Because the fact is that tariffs and regulation kills jobs, and it kills growth. When I was at HP, we saw revenues double and the growth rate quadruple, that was the kind of leadership I exhibited then and it's the kind of leadership that we have to bring to Washington!

The crowd cheers for the candidate's grit

I'm incredibly skeptical of what Donald would do to the American economy, you know he seems to be aligning himself with Ralph Nader more than with Conservative principles. And so again and again what we're seeing is Mr. Trump moving away from the conservative principles that we want so desperately to restore in Washington. That's why I will be a different kind of leader, I'm not going to take my policy prescriptions from socialists like Bernie Sanders and Sherrod Brown, and I'm not going to take them from the Liberal establishment in Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. I'm going to take them from the American people, and I'm going to take them from Ronald Reagan. It was President Reagan that said that "More trade, not less, is the wave of the future" and that we mustn't fall for the "siren song of protectionism". I don't know about you, but it seems pretty clear to me what President Reagan believed and it seems even more clear to me why Donald Trump would call him a con man. I think we need new leadership in Washington, leadership that promises more change and not more politics, but we can't do that by electing an establishment politician or donor that stands against everything that we as Conservatives want to see changed about Washington. That's why, as President, I will be opening the door to more negotiations in Asia and Africa and across the world to strengthen the American and in turn the Global market. There is too much at stake to fall prey to centuries old isolationist theory. It's time that we embraced out rightful place as a world leader, not shrunk back from it like the Democrats and Mr. Trump would like to see us do. We need clear and consistent Trading policy to signal to the rest of the world that America isn't done being an economic powerhouse and that we are in fact here to stay as the largest and most influential economy in the world. It's time we defend the companies, consumers, and workers of America by looking after their interests before we look out after the interests of D.C.'s deep pockets. We need to stand against increased tariff taxation and increased regulation and to stop this job-killing, growth-crushing march to the bottom.

The crowd gives a standing ovation for Mrs. Fiorina, it was not as fiery as she usually is, but they greatly respected the clear and concise policy speech aimed at making her positions clear to the voters.

Mrs. Fiorina lands in Reno, Nevada to talk about State's Rights and Land Reform

Hello Nevada! It's great to be back here in the cradle of Individualism and State's Rights. The catalyst for the movement to move power from Washington back to the states and their people. The Silver State truly does have a storied history with our nations capital and that's exactly why I'm here to talk about it. We need to recognize that D.C. does not dictate the policies that you enact here in Carson City or Reno and that they have no business sticking their thumbs in a lot of the areas where they try to flex their government control muscles. So now it's time for a President that understands and respects the Constitution of the United States. I think that we need a whole lot more of that, and we're not getting any out of it from D.C. You know, we are a Federal Republic, that means that we abide by what the 10th Amendment says, that most decisions should be made by state governments. And it was this great state of Nevada that for much of the late 19th century after its founding pioneered that idea in the west and has continued to fight for it since and that's something I really appreciate about Nevada. I greatly appreciate your zeal for local government and your passion for for liberty. But even here in Nevada we can do better, can't we?

The crowd speaks up in approbation

That's right, what we need to do is take the Federal Government off of your land! We need to tell federal regulators in D.C. that the people of Nevada don't need your care taking and can own their own state! It is absolutely absurd, absolutely absurd, that the Federal Government owns 85% of the state of Nevada. That is nearly 100,000 square miles of land that could be used for private development, private enterprise, or even control by the State Government, or Local Governments for that matter, sending it right back to the people of Nevada. Because let me be clear, I know the Democrats will try to spin this as me saying I don't want the government to own any land. And while I wished the Federal Government owned a lot less land I'm not saying that the state of Nevada shouldn't look after its own natural beauty. I'm saying that the state of Nevada can look after its own lands and own natural beauty a lot better than the Federal Government. I'm saying that the people of Nevada should be able to make decisions about their own land and that the Federal Government ought to own only the land that it needs, which is quite a small parcel. I think that we can all agree that the size of the Federal government needs to be greatly reduced, well when you consider all of this land bloat, it's easy to see where it gets it size. It's getting it from bureaucrats and politicians that continue to gobble up acres upon acres in states like Nevada when in all reality it ought to only be the Governor, State Legislature, and County Councils of Nevada that are making decisions for the land. A Senator from New York has no business legislating regulatory details for land in Nevada, and even a Utah Senator has no business doing the same! That should be up solely to the people's representatives in Carson City, and solely to all the Local governments and commissions that are here in Nevada. I think that as of now, we lack a strong and decisive leader who would make these reforms not for personal ideology but because the Constitution of the United States demands them, I am ready to make those decisions and to fight back against overreach of the Federal Government and to put an end to the outsize spending of the Federal Government before it continues to eat up more and more land.

Mrs. Fiorina talks deep Tax Reform in a rally in Houston, Texas

Hello Texas! It's great to be in the Lone Star state, I haven't been to Texas in too long and it's great to be back for a different purpose then when I was last here. When I last came to Texas, I distinctly remember I was running a business trip for HP, creating jobs and creating opportunity for Texans in the tech field, though I support my trip today isn't all too different now, is it. Because I'm here to discuss with you my tax plan and how we're going to revolutionize this nation's growth models. We're going to be cutting taxes across the board and simplifying the brackets down to 1, can you believe it? After all these years of long and complicated tax returns, the Fiorina administration is going to get your taxes down to a post card. But, how do we get there? I've often said that plans are not results, they are no accomplishments, and so we need someone with a proven record of getting things done the way they said they were going to do them. What we're going to do is implement a Flat Tax of 15% for everyone making under $40,000 a year. And if you aren't then you pay NOTHING in taxes. At. All.

Intense cheering from the crowd at the promise of such a hefty tax cut

And that's not all, we're going to be cutting taxes on Businesses big and small to grow the American economy, slashing taxes on gains made my small businesses and ending the Farm-crushing Death Tax. We're going to radically alter the way that the government and its citizens conduct business in this nation by unleashing a dynamo of radical change at every level of the tax code. Every single earner in the United States will get a tax cut of many thousands of dollars under my tax plan, and that's not to mention the plethora of new jobs it will create and the gaggle of economic opportunities that will come along with it. What we're looking at is something so monumental that it hasn't been attempted since the Reagan days and while Democrats say it can't be done, you and I both know better. Even my Republican opponents say we're crazy for shrinking the government this much, but I say bring it on! We're ready to fight for the American people because the American people need a leader that's in this for them. I am ready to be that leader and to make that change for you. For too long the Obama administration has crushed and regulated small businesses and contractors out of existence until the only people left to survive were the wealthy like him and Hillary Clinton. But now, we're giving a fair shot to everyone in the United States, but proposing this radical idea that you know how to spend your money better than the government does. We need a leader that is willing to step out of the big government paradigm that dominates Washington, step out from the Liberal bubble in the Beltway and remove power from the hands of the inner circle in D.C. that only seeks to see more money from the American taxpayer funneled in and out of the Treasury Department. Well, I say no more! I say America needs a leader that won't just pay lip service to tax cuts across the board, but will actually get them done and cut spending right along with it. What we're going to see is the American government shrink tremendously and to use Ronald Reagan's famous quote in the inverse, when government contracts, liberty expands. My goal is to have the power of the people; their liberty, expand to take up space that for far too long has been held in D.C. And I know that we can do this, we can make this goal a reality by electing a no-nonsense real conservative business leader, we can accomplish our goal and get results for America and its struggling economy. Texas has its very own leaders like Kevin Brady, Ted Cruz, and Louie Gohmert, that have made this their mission, great men and great leaders that I look forward to working with to make this goal a reality. Senator Cruz has always been a close friend and I know what he has what's right for Texas at heart. Because it's ultimately about getting the American people back on track, back on your feet after a disastrous 8 years. And with a new administration, we can bring American opportunity back from the bring and we can flush out the Big Government establishment in Washington!

The crowd roars in approval as she gets down off the stage to meet the Texans for Fiorina

No problem! And what I also propose to some of my compatriots is that we freeze actions so we don't inundate you with work when you return. I know you probably already have a small backlog!

Rand Paul Campaigns in Dover, New Hampshire

Sen. Paul hosted an event in Dover, New Hampshire today.  There he spoke on foreign policy.

"The US has continued to over extend itself into the affairs of countries around the world.  We continue to get into war after war with no objectives in places to fulfill a defined goal.  Many members of both parties seek to institute policies of nation building around the globe.  This is a waste of tax payer dollars.  The Iraq War was a failure and destabilized the region.  Military action in Libya has resulted in various groups fighting for power.  We have gotten stuck in Afghanistan for around 15 years with no end in sight.  Now, we have people wanted to go in and take out Assad in Syria?  When will people learn that this policy of national building doesn't work.  Rather than spending Americans' hard earned tax dollars overseas, why don't we bring that money back within the US?  Bringing the troops home and cutting foreign aid would save billions of dollars which could be used the reduce the budget deficit and pay down the national debt.  This seems like it should be a common sense solution; however, Republicans and Democrats in Washington want to continue to send our brave soldier to fight in foreign countries.  It is up to the people to say that enough is enough.  If you elect me as your next President, we WILL bring our boys home!"

Rand Paul Hosts Fundraiser in Nashua, NH

Sen. Paul hosted a fundraiser today in Nashua, NH.  He was joined by his father, former Rep. and Presidential candidate Ron Paul.  Together, they spoke about the need reign in the power of the federal government and give control back to the states and local areas.

Ron Paul: "I am very proud of my son for the job that he has done in the Senate up to this point.  He's by far the best voice in the Senate.  Unfortunately, there are few members of either house of Congress that seek to reduce the size of government.  Both parties have expanded its power without restraint.  It's time for a new voice in the executive branch.  We need a true Conservative to govern for the next 4 years, and Rand is that man!"

Rand Paul: "The federal government continues to seek more and more power in society.  The Founding Fathers would be horrified at the size if it now-a-days.  We cannot continue to ignore the 10th Amendment.  The Constitution clearly states which powers the federal government has.  Other areas are to be left to the people and states.  But, no one care right now.  That is why I am running for President.  I want people to start talking about the role of government again.  I want the younger voters to see a positive Conservative voice that actually speaks with them.  Now is the time for a statement within the Republican Party and the American political system.  If you support me for President, I WILL return the federal government back to its constitutional foundation."

Afterwards, Sen. Paul met with representatives from leading Conservative and Libertarian-leaning groups who had attended in order to further discuss policy and his campaign.

Carly Fiorina visits Colorado Springs, Colorado to open her campaign office; talks Immigration Reform

Hello Colorado! It's great to be out here in the West, the great American frontier, a symbol of America's wealth, pride, expansion and greatness. It was here in the Wild West that America forged into its national psyche the fire of individualism and here in the state of Colorado that that individualism led to expansive growth among your people and expansive discovery in your state's wealth. The state of Colorado has always been fiercely independent, and before Denver began to provide a counterweight to places like out here in Colorado Springs, fiercely conservative, fiercely constitutionalist. And that's one of the great things I have always admired about states like Colorado and about your state in particular, your steadfast embrace of traditional American principles. And your diverse ability to do so. Colorado, like other economic dynamos in conservative states like Texas and Florida, has always been a hotbed for Hispanic immigrants coming into the United States searching, often times, a refuge from the horrors of Socialism and looking for success in Capitalist America. And I know that we have many immigrants or children of immigrants from such failed Socialist states. As I was speaking to supporters and friends just a little while ago, it moved me the harrowing stories through which many people here tonight, or whose parents, experienced as they have escaped be it Venezuelan or Cuban Socialism, a crumbling Mexican economy due to heavily corrupt state intervention, or any one of the unstable banana republics of Central America or the Caribbean with a tenuous relationship between state and market, authority and liberty. And I believe that we are currently abridging that duty, as it currently stands our immigration system is broken and it is far easier to hop the border than to come here legally. It is far easier to overstay an H1-B work visa or a travel visa into the United States then to file paperwork with DHS and ICE and it is far more convenient for illegals to skip the long line of legal immigrants into the United States, many of whom flee persecution just the same as those that come here legally. And in true Washington fashion, D.C. has done nothing but make the problem worse. Well I say we have to do something about it!

The crowd roars in approval

My plan is this, we need to do more than simply pour billions into a boondoggle at the Southern border, stretching miles across a stretch of desolate desert. Because the fact is that our problems have more to do with major ports of entry than along the Sonora Desert. Instead of a large concrete barrier across the thousand mile border, I propose that we enhance the existing walls around El Paso, Tijuana, and Brownsville as that is where they are the most useful. My administration would also triple the amount of ICE border agents we have on the ground and at home. This means an increased ability to deport criminals as well as stop drugs from flowing across the border using both manual carriers and drones coming across the Southern border. We also have to reform how we handle our visa programs. We need to implement E-Verify and prosecute each and every business that aids and abets the violation of U.S. Immigration Code by harboring illegals and therefore incentivising illegal immigration in the first place. Because let's not make any mistake in realizing that illegal immigrants are in fact people that come here for reasons, and many times those reasons are both economic and political. In order to truly stop illegal immigration we have to both crack down on it harder and examine the causes of it and cut it off at the root. We can't afford to do just one or the other, we have to do both. That's the only way we're going to stop this crisis and it's the only way to reform the system. Now, wouldn't you say that all of what I've just said sounds pretty common sense to you? More ICE agents, less hirings of Illegals, stricter Visa regulations, and enhancement of fencing at ports of entry?

The audience claps and many say "Yes" or variations of it

Well I happen to think so too, but the reason why it isn't policy is like always, the Washington establishment has something to say about it. Constantly impeding change and constantly exhibiting remarkable lack of accountability and leadership, D.C. truly never ceases to amaze me in just how much they can mess up for the American people. That's why I'm running, because on the issue of illegal immigration among many others, we simply cannot afford a President in Washington that will continue to divide the nation and uphold the status quo of the liberal establishment. And we can't have a Republican nominee that only caters to part of the country, we need a leader that will reach out to people of all skin colors and of all backgrounds to restore the Reagan Coalition that once defined conservatism. That starts here Colorado. It starts with a new leader and it starts with America becoming the global leader it once was. This is why America must be a nation on a hill, and to all those that ford the crashing waves of tyranny and injustice, we must be a mighty beacon of freedom shining in the night. That Lady Liberty's light may one unto the nation guiding the tired, the poor, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free to the shores of the United States. We can return America to that level of leadership and growth, and we will return America to its place as the most admired and sought after nation in the world. Together we will defeat the Washington establishment and throw off the federal restraints holding us back! God Bless you and God Bless Colorado!

The audience raucously applauds here fiery end and and then greets Mrs. Fiorina as she gets down to talk to refugees of South and Central American Socialism and Tyranny

Rand Paul Opens Campaign Office in Vermont

Sen. Paul visited Montpelier, Vermont to open up his campaign office.  There he spoke about criminal justice reform.

"The United States has gone too long without looking at our criminal justice system.  We have outrageous mandatory minimums which have resulted in non-violent offenders being locked up for tens of years for a small crime such as smoking a joint.  This NEEDS to stop.  Judges and juries need to be given more flexibility over sentencing.  Our prisons are overcrowded because we are locking people up for crimes that are not really that serious.  This also puts a significant burden on the taxpayers which isn't necessary.  It is time for the federal government to end the War on Drugs.  It has only increase the viability of the black markets which line the pockets of cartels.  This is unacceptable and just leads to increased smuggling activity at our borders.  If you elect me, I WILL push for criminal justice reform.  This is something that should be a bipartisan mission which both Republicans and Democrats can get behind.  All it will take is a leader to get the ball rolling in the right direction.  Elect me for President, and I will do just that."
