Wiw
Right now, I'm reading the Fear, Loathing and Gumbo series, and I'm actively considering making PI scenarios out of them. Now, this story is MASSIVE. I have swathes of material to work from, so I wanna make it as perfect as I can. Ultimately, this will likely spill over into international elections as well, since those are covered in the story too. SPOILERS AHEAD! Looking at it quickly, I'm drafting up a quick list of scenarios to create: 1972/3: United States 1972 (with John McKeithen running) - Presidential, Senatorial and House covered Possibly post-election votes with the Supreme Court et al? 1974: United Kingdom General (with the Tories' support of Agnew tariffs) Canada Federal (I'll have to get PMI Canada before I do this one, of course.) UK Labour Party Leadership France National Assembly US Midterms 1975: France National Assembly Australia National/Senatorial (Constitutional crisis) 1976: Ireland Italy Chamber of Deputies/Senate Canada Federal Israel United States (Wallace v Reagan) Quebec General Greece Legislative 1977: Australia Federal/Senate Canada Progressive Conservative Leadership Cambodia Parliament United Kingdom General (Heath falls on a no-confidence vote) India National 1978: US Special Elections Canada Federal New South Wales US Midterms 1979: Italy General/Senate France National Assembly UK Conservative Party Leadership 1980: India National Ireland National Australia Federal/Senate Greece National UK Local Canada Federal Spain Federal/Senate West Germany Federal Quebec Provinical United States (Rumsfeld v Carey. NOW THE NIGHTMARE BEGINS!) Israel Knesset 1981: France Presidential Mississippi Special Election Australia General/Senate United Kingdom General New York Mayoral 1982: Northern Ireland Assembly Indian National US Midterms (in which Christian Values establishes a presence in the Senate) 1984: United States (Rumsfeld cheats) 1985: New York Mayoral 1986: United Kingdom General US House only (much voter suppression) Post-1987: Canada Federal '87 Puerto Rico Independence Referendum '89 I'll probably end up not doing all of them, but some will bleed into others. More later.

But no Infinity game even TRIES to go beyond either single head-of-state or purely FPTP elections, so it's a worthwhile investment, especially given the great majority of contested, anwhere near free-and-fair legislative elections in the world today are NOT FPTP by electoral system, and CAN'T be done justice by a game that only provides that electoral system. Wiw
I'll consider it. However, I'd prefer an updated version, to match the others.

Wiw
Well, whatever. He'll have to do it eventually. Anyway, I'll focus primarily on the US elections for the time being.
Wiw
Hm... I'm trying to make a scenario where a tie is possible, but I can't get the right balance. Any suggestions?

You're quoting a fictional storyline from an obscure novel I haven't read, and judging by reactions, most other posters who've taken enough interest to post haven't either. Thus, the inevitable question hangs in the haze. What's the story? What's going on here?
Wiw
Forgive me, perhaps I should've elucidated. Here are the stories themselves: Gumbo and Rumsfeldia

Wiw
Well, I don't think I'm able to tweak it quite to my liking, so I'm releasing '72 now and moving on. I'm open to suggestions for refining it, of course.
