Bah! U.S. numbered electoral districts are so unevocative as to just where in a given State they actually are geographically, and are have a cold and impersonal style. The Canadian and British Constituency names have neither problem at all - a far better naming scheme for these kind of districts.

I agree. My district(SC-01) could be named either: Beaufort and Charleston County, or "South Carolina Lowcountry". Seems more personal than a number assigned to a region. That said, it is difficult to name districts that are heavily gerrymandered( think of the districts in south Texas, or the districts in Maryland)
