I've fixed some design things, added the former gov, sen, and rep. I also added a key at the end and back-of-the-card design, that could be changed or improved if you wished. Office Cards.docx This looks good! Ultimately, I think the Office Cards should just say Offices on the back. I think the Events and Politicians should also have the year that they enter on the back. Probably something like E-2000 or P-1988. This will make it much easier to set up the game. We can discuss the back of the cards further down the road. We may end up reducing the number of offices if it slows down the game too much. One of my concerns is getting from 1788 to present under a certain number of hours. Offices change every term, but we can keep it this way and discuss that after playtesting. I think post playtesting will probably result in cutting and simplifying, but hopefully the game runs so smoothly that it isn't necessary. I'll keep track of anything we cut or simplify in the event this gets converted into a computer game, in which case I have all sorts of ideas to add to the game. When you're ready to make the event cards, or any other cards, let me know and I'll get to it. Another simple fix would be putting the Title of the game on the back, and then the card type. Ex: GAME TITLE Event Card Or even just "Event Card", "Office Card" , etc.

It's probably the card that will change the most often from now to the final draft.
vcczar 1,224
@AmericanChaos Here's a really rough outline of what needs to be on the Event Cards. It's cluttery. I'll leave it up to you to design in, but this is what needs to be on this cards. Font size 10 for most of the text for sure. These cards will be almost all text. The top right is for a judicial icon or something that marks whether or not an event/decision can be challenged by the Supreme Court. The boxes for these will probably be different sizes, depending on the amount of text needed for that event. Some won't even need the repeal or ignore box. Some might not need the special box either. Ido 0
looks good, how do you resolve or fail to resolve events?

For instance an executive event might require that other executive events (actions) or legislation have been put in place first, that the military or budget or something else is at least at a certain level, the ability of the president and other officer's handling the event, and then there is the dice roll. vcczar 1,224
@Reagan04 @Hestia11 Update: I'm going to construct the event cards myself. Let me know if you have any time this week to help me type out all the information on the cards. I'll have the info in the Google Sheet. It will probably be Wednesday or Thursday before I have all the information set up to transfer onto the cards.

I can't stress enough how much text is going to go into some of these cards. These cards will be divided between Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. Maybe have different colors? Thanks again

They'll probably be like the event cards but with only Name and Text boxes. The meter cards will be kind of complicated. I'm picturing them being 4 sides cards, meaning they are cards that are turned, depending on what direction the country is going on that particular issue. Maybe they should be called Dial Cards. For instance, there will be a Revenue Meter or dial. Actually two (one for positive and one for negative, unless we can make the cards front and back). One side (or one card) would have Revenue +1 on the top, Revenue +2 on the right, Revenue +3 on the bottom, Revenue +4 on the left. The card is turned to present the revenue level. I am trying to only have 8 dial cards (10 at most). I'm still trying to sort these out.

That would be helpful. For photos, take only those photos that are public domain (wikipedia is good). Try to find photos of them at the height of their fame. Thus, Gingrich as Speaker. Ryan as Speaker. Obama as President. Santorum as Senator (or as 2012 candidate), Biden as VP. Even more important is that the photo is a head shot (their face and not much else). I use pixlr.com to crop photos.

Word has a setting so that the pictures you search are only public domain. I've used those for every icon, image, logo, etc I've used so far. So piece of cake. And I can do that, no problem. Unless you want a "Name" box, and then a text box. No icons, no sub titles. Then I can just make the one card real quick. Unless there will be categories like Executive, Judicial, Military, etc. Then I can make one for each. As far as these "meter" cards go, I could make those pretty easy. Let me mess around with an idea I have.
