Name and office, and note if they are a minority--woman or African-American:
Mr. Eric V. Dobs, President of the Northeastern Federation of Labor forms the Socialist Party amidst the unfriendly Progress and Conservative policies being passed and the lukewarm reception of the Liberal Party.

Resident State: Massachussets

Platform (see State of the Union)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

National Strength: America has fallen further and further off from the national stage as a result in wavering production and economic turmoil. We must immediately take action to quell the policy of the greedy bankers and those who oppose nationalization and unionization, as they are hindering American production and causing us to be a far less powerful and prestigious nation.

Foreign Affairs: We must strengthen our relationship with the Italians, as they are in great need of international assistance. They have thrown off the shackles of the wealthy and given power to each and every individual, and we praise them for that. The warship was sunken by the communist French, who are no better than the dictators and kings who have taken control in the past.

Military: Our military does not need to grow and expand, though we may find it necessary to send military assistance to the Italians in quelling their communist insurgents if needed.

Economy: The economy is on a downward slope, and we must immediately undo the horrid decisions of President Barker and nationalize as many industries as we can. Greedy hands are keeping American industry from succeeding, and we must push through the wealthy, capitalistic propaganda and do what best strengthens our nation and our worker. Public works programs must be enacted and this will give further employment to workers in nationalized governmental realm. Ad

Trade: High protective tariffs must be enacted on all nations, with the exception of the Italians. American industry must be protected, and only our Italian brothers and sisters have embraced work practices that are safe for the worker and not merely efficient for the employer.

Budget: The budget will be at a surplus, as we can expect the decrease in our military funding and the high protective tariff to undo the havoc wreaked on our finances by prior administrations.

Social Harmony: The wealthy have pit the poor against each other, specifically the poor farmer in the west and the abused worker in the North. Northern workers will be ecstatic at the progress made under a Dobs administration and Westerners will be overjoyed to see their debts forgiven.

Popularity of the Incumbent: President Barker has proven to be nothing more than a deceitful Conservative who consistently sides with the slave driver over the American worker, and must be ousted from power and replaced by an executive who has the desires of the American worker in place.

Party Power: Socialists should strive to contest seats across the nation, as even slight representation in either chamber of Congress can give us enough sway to affect economic policy and to protect the interests of the worker.

Name and office, and note if they are a minority-- Fmr. VP and Fmr. Secretary of State Henry Rothschild

Resident State: L-California

Platform (see State of the Union)

National Strength: We will definitely work on this economically. We need to make things here, in America. If we can't, we won't win wars that we must win to survive.

Military Strength: Raise the Navy to 60 ships. Keep on with the troop levels

Foreign Affairs: Continue fostering relations with Europe, particularly the Brits. Take a hard line on France, but mostly leave out Italy on purpose. Promise these free trade agreement nations that prosperity is not easy but will come.

Military: Our military has worked valiantly for years and has earned a break from war.

Economy: We fault the failed Conservative government that killed relationships with Europe as the primary reason we are in trouble. Liberal government salvaged our relations there and we will continue to find peace where Conservatives would have war. We promise to uphold bimetallism and pledge to be the party of farmers.

Trade: Ramp up the tariff to pay for a massive program to enhance our arms industry. We will be the manufacturer of the world!

Budget: Propose a raise or taxes on the richest of our population. Raise tariffs as well to pay for everything that we need here.

Social Harmony: Happiness has returned to America.

Immigration: We will keep where we are here; there isn't a need for action.

Mood of the people: Promise hope and success for the future and a common sense economy to go with it.

Popularity of the Incumbent: Bash the president as a Conservative stooge for Big Gold. We will not commit to a silver standard but we at least believe in bimetallism.

Party Power: Conservatives and Progress are two sides of the same coin. Liberals are the only ones who offer change and hope for our nation.

I got to say this is embarassing from a political analytic standpoint. If we had actual campaigns this would be seen as very weak as you presented many falsehoods.

Funny though your dynamic strategy.

Your own opinion, it’s just a game and policy always narrows from the outset of the campaign.

1900 Election

Welcome to the 20th century. This election, like last election, is a toss up. Progressive populism is on the rise, but the new Socialist Party is likely to undermine the Liberal Party in the Northeast and Midwest. This is a good sign for the Conservative Party, which is temporarily out of fashion in this new populist age. The American Progress Party could benefit from this situation, but the President has upset his supporters by refraining from a Silver Standard and by his statement that he will, " I will continue to serve all the American People, not just the ones commonly known as my supporters.," which his party's base takes as another sign that Barker will not strongly support the cause of the poor Western farmer. In all, the election could go to anyone.

General Election Round 1

Rothschild/Theodora Roosevelt (Lib) 202 EV 35% PV [ME, VT, NH, NY, CT, RI, NJ, OH, IL, VA, NC, SC, GA, TN, AL, MS, AR]

Barker/Inning(Pro) 124 EV 30% PV [FL, IN, MI, WI, MN, IA, ND, SD, KS, NE, MT, WY, CO, ID, UT, NV, OR, CA]

McEnroe/Rodgers (Con) 121 EV 30% PV [WA, TX, LA, MO, KY, WV, MD, DE, PA, MA]

Dobs/Leo Franks (Soc) 0 EV 5% PV

[Luckily for the Liberal Party, the Socialists didn't cost them any states in the Northeast. The Progress Party saw WA go Conservative, which is a sign of a lack of enthusiasm for Pres. Barker in the west. There was nothing too far out of the ordinary; although, a Liberal lead of this size was unexpected. The Progress Party will have to flip several states to win this election.]

General Election Round 2

(Lib) 239 EV 50% PV [Gains IL, PA, MA, MI; loses IL

(Pro) 208 EV 50% PV [Gains WA, TX, LA, MO, IL; KY, WV, MD, DE; loses MI

[The Progress Party was able to flip populous IL, but they lost MI in turn. They were unable to flip any other Liberal states. Despite taking almost every state won by the Conservative Party, they couldn't get enough to win reelection, since the map favors Eastern parties, especially one that has a solid lock on the South. Theodora Roosevelt becomes the first woman VP]

Congress

Liberal 30% Senate 35% US Rep

Progress 25% Senate 25% US Rep

Conservatives 45% Senate 30% US Rep

Socialists 0% Senate 10% US Rep

[Socialists make an impact in the US Reps, despite not earning a seat in the Senate. A moderate Liberty Party member is the new Speaker.]

House Minority Leader Rodgers congratulates the new President and emboldens the Party's defense of Conservatism in hopeful preparation of winning in 1904, the plan is to dig in with strong defenses of American values to reclaim the White House for the first time in 20 years, perhaps Rodgers, a Western Conservative, can finally do it.

Another request I have for all the RPers. It would be tremendous if you could use this as example for your characters https://new-historical-president.wikia.com/wiki/Samuel_Lewis_Jr.

and start to create pages with at least one sentence in it for your characters. We will fill them out later but if we have the pages earlier, it would be a lot easier. Thank you!

I figured out how to develop easy infoboxes. https://new-historical-president.wikia.com/wiki/Jacob_William_Henderson

Events and Decisions for March 1901- Mar 1905 for Pres. Rothschild @Hestia11

1) Bimetalism or Gold

Economists are arguing for the Gold Standard stating that years of Bimetalism has done nothing to improve the economy or help indebted Western farmers. The Silver Standard will certainly tank the economy. We should move back to Gold.

2) The Tariff

Economists are also hoping you fulfill your campaign pledge and raise the Tariffs so that industry can grow at home and not get out-competed by Europe. The 3rd world countries are also considering breaking from our Free Trade Agreement anyway, so they can grow their own industries. Very few of our industries are so strong as to desire a low tariff at this moment.

3) France or Italy and the Sunken Ship

We still haven't found the culprit who sunk our ship. Warhawks are wanting us to pin it on Communist France, even though we haven't the military to do anything about it.

4) Steel workers strike

Steel workers are striking for better hours and better pay. The strikes have turned violent in Pittsburgh as labor leader have whipped up labor support. This major steel manufacturing area is totally shut down, causing delays, stoppages, etc, for industries that require steel.

5) Literacy Test Amendment

Anti-immigrant voters, mostly Conservatives, are calling for a literacy test for all immigrants. They believe this will weed out the skilled and unskilled immigrants. A lack of literacy will result in deportation.

6) Mine Workers Strike

Similar to the steel workers, miners are striking in the West and in West Virginia over better hours, better pay, and the desire for cheap healthcare and pension. Five protesting miners have been shot dead by thugs believed to have been hired by the owners of one mine.

7) Arms Industry ready to arm allies

The subsidized arms industry is producing all sorts of lethal weapons and would now like to export them to other countries. We could make a lot of money in trading arms; although, doing so will likely look bad if we trade to the wrong people. Your military advisers suggest supply to pro-Monarchists and pro-Republic leaders in France (covertly, of course), and to anti-Socialists in Italy. We could also sell to Great Britain, and to select 3rd World Countries.

😎 Tax on the Wealthy

In campaign, you had suggested a tax on the wealthy. Would you support a slight, moderate, or larger increase in tax on the wealthy? Our income-gap inequality is rather large, as few have profited since before the Civil War.

9) Increase the size of the Navy

You called for an increase the size of the Navy. We would definitely need the wealth tax to afford this at the moment. Do you still wish to do this?

10) French monarchists call on America to aid in coup against Communist France

Napoleon IV and his allies, hiding in the US, wish to take their country back from the Communists. They wish for us to aid them in a coup d'etat in France. However, politicians are mixed. Some say that a monarchy in France is a little archaic; although, preferable to Communism. Voters do not want another war. Economist suggest that the economy needs to move out of the red before any adventurism occurs. Your military wants us to take part so that we have more influence in Europe if we succeed.

Bimetalism or Gold

Economists are arguing for the Gold Standard stating that years of Bimetalism has done nothing to improve the economy or help indebted Western farmers. The Silver Standard will certainly tank the economy. We should move back to Gold.

We will not waver on our campaign pledge. Bimetallism is the only answer. Gold will tank the farmers and Silver will tank the east, so we must do something that keeps both floating.

As soon as a country cuts the trade agreements, raise the tariff. Raise the tariff on many nations, particularly high on France and Italy.

3) France or Italy and the Sunken Ship

We still haven't found the culprit who sunk our ship. Warhawks are wanting us to pin it on Communist France, even though we haven't the military to do anything about it.

Prepare a statement to announce we are still seeking the culprit, but publicly say that it is likely the French or Italians. Maybe one will throw the other under the bus.

4) Steel workers strike

Steel workers are striking for better hours and better pay. The strikes have turned violent in Pittsburgh as labor leader have whipped up labor support. This major steel manufacturing area is totally shut down, causing delays, stoppages, etc, for industries that require steel.

If possible, push for a bill that forces steel companies to limit hours to 8 hour workdays and a slight wage increase.

5) Literacy Test Amendment

Anti-immigrant voters, mostly Conservatives, are calling for a literacy test for all immigrants. They believe this will weed out the skilled and unskilled immigrants. A lack of literacy will result in deportation.

This is an outrage. We refuse to push anything of this sort and condemn anyone who would support this bill.

6) Mine Workers Strike

Similar to the steel workers, miners are striking in the West and in West Virginia over better hours, better pay, and the desire for cheap healthcare and pension. Five protesting miners have been shot dead by thugs believed to have been hired by the owners of one mine.

Condemn the violence and propose the same thing we proposed for steel workers.

We could also sell to Great Britain, and to select 3rd World Countries.

sell to the pro-Monarchists and pro-Republicans in both countries. Sell to Britain and Canada as well as Mexico and Northern Europe.

😎 Tax on the Wealthy

In campaign, you had suggested a tax on the wealthy. Would you support a slight, moderate, or larger increase in tax on the wealthy? Our income-gap inequality is rather large, as few have profited since before the Civil War.

A moderate tax should suffice.

9) Increase the size of the Navy

You called for an increase the size of the Navy. We would definitely need the wealth tax to afford this at the moment. Do you still wish to do this?

Only increase it to 58 instead of 60 to reduce cost.

Supporg how we can with technical and military aid. Wait on a decision to send anything else until later

The French monarchists agree to take arms as a means of the US helping in a coup. Guns are shipped to both monarchists and republicans. We expect a coup to occur at some point.

All responses marked "CONGRESS" require a response from @Kingthero and by either @Conservative Elector 2 or @reagan04 (not sure why it isn't tagging him). These bills only need support from  one of these two parties for it to pass. Therefore it fails if both parties oppose the bills.

These measures are seen as necessary to improve the economy, we are also placated by the high tariffs on Communist France and Socialist Italy, ideologies which the Conservatives deplore, therefore we will support these measures.

We steadfastly oppose all 3 of these bills and will vote them down as much as we can. If that fails in the House, we will our Plurality of Senators to stage a filibuster, we cannot allow this nonsense to go on unabated, we cannot reverse the progress we have made, we cannot let big government get their overreaching hands on our hard earned money and private possessions, we will not relent.
