I have created a poll for the upcoming German federal election. I copied the ideologies of the parties from Wikipedia, to avoid any accusation of being biased of certain parties. :D For the coalitions please remember that all parties said they refuse to build a coalition with the AfD and the CDU/CSU also ruled out the The Left as partner in any government. The 2nd question is just hypothetical and out of curiosity.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.

PS: I plan to create a similar thing for Austria's federal election in October too.

1) The first question is the hardest for me. I would vote for the CDU/CSU but there are two thing which bother me. The pro-EU stance and Angela Merkel (nevertheless I favor her compared to Martin Schulz). So it would likely turn out that my vote goes to the AfD, but they have some pretty extreme people in their party and honestly I don't feel very good about voting for them as well. That's the reason why it's a bit tough for me. I talked about this to @jvikings1 lately.

2) Angela Merkel

3) CDU/CSU + FDP

This is a good poll @Conservative Elector 2

I picked SPD; although, ideally someone more left would have a shot at gaining a majority.

I have to say that I have great confidence and respect for Merkel, even though I vote against her in this poll.

You are welcome, thank you. Since I have the ability to follow this election very closely I am pleased to help here a bit. Like I mentioned before I will do this for Austria's upcoming election too. Perhaps even today since the interest seems to be huge. I am glad.

In Austria what party do you support? The FPO or the OVP(with Kurz as leader).

I am registered as a member of the ÖVP and I think I will vote for them as well. I used to vote for them already in earlier elections. The only thing I don't like about the ÖVP is their pro-EU stance. I hope strongly for a ÖVP-FPÖ coalition government.

I have respect for Angela Merkel as well even though I don't agree with her on a variety of issues. I think she's tough to hold her views despite being criticized heavily and she has so much experience which I value.

I just considered all the parties which are likely to enter the Bundestag. If I had considered all parties which have pretty much ballot access, it would have been a bit to much I guess. >D

The AFD is a bunch of militant anti-Religion secularists quite frankly.

The thing about religion and it's impact as a whole on the world today and the dichotomy around is best summed up in a quote I read in a sociology journal YEARS ago by a contributor whose name I can't remember. "Nothing brings together a community like religion. And, nothing divides a community from another community like religion."

Reminds me of a debate I saw lately about whether patriotism divides us or unites us.

for number two Otto von bismarck.

Bismark is a good one. Along with Napoleon Bonaparte, Henry Campbell-Bannerman (an often overlooked British PM), FDR, and Paul Kagame (I'm serious), probably the 5 greatest world leaders, in my opinion, in the last a little over two centuries.

I'm suprised that @jvikings1 would vote AFD considering how it's anti-Religion.

Unfortunately, the Christian People's Party hasn't run since the Weimar Republic, and didn't get too many votes back then. I think he realized, like most people in most elections, he's not going to get a party or candidate that will please him ideologically right across the board. I know I never do, either in elections I can vote in, or those around the world I read about.

I know that feel bro. One major reason why I switched to being independent.
