As I said, this list (and the one in my other recent thread) only define parameters and boundaries of interest. I have no illusion (or delusion) I could ever remotely make them all. Guest
@Patine Maybe you can become a resource getter and as people are interested in these elections you can slowly release your resources. I plan to release the icons I sent to vcczar soon.
Sean F. Kennedy
I plan to update my 2018 Ohio Gubernatorial race and Senate race. I would like to do Arizona 2018 down the road and perhaps New Hampshire 2016 or 2018. Vermont is another example. Be fun to see Sanders make another attempt at the Governorship. What I'd be wondering about Sanders and Vermont in 2018 is would he run as an "Independent Socialist," a Democrat, the Vermont Progressive (which he seems to be friendly to and I BELIEVE (I could be wrong) has endorsed some candidates for), or a political vehicle party purely for his own run (a la Connecticut for Lieberman for Lieberman's 2012 Senate run or even the 1912 Progressive Party for Teddy Rosevelt). In the past he ran as an independent and the Democratic party would promise not to run a candidate against him since he would caucus with them. There is a unifying theme to all of these, which may need a bit of looking up many for some, though I'm pretty @vcczar will recognize it right away: -Alaska 1986 onwards -California 2003 (the last effectively in theme, if not officially) -Connecticut 1990, and 1994 -Georgia 2010 (POSSIBLY) -Illinois 2006 -Indiana 2008-2016 -Kentucky 1855-1859, and 1999 -Maine 1986 onwards -Massachusetts 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014 -Minnesota 1998-2010 -New Hampshire 2008-2016 -New York 1910-1934, 1942, 1950, 1966, 1970, 1978, 1986, 1994, 1998, and 2002 -Rhode Island 2014 -Texas 1956, 1972, 1974, and 2006 -Vermont 1990 onwards -West Virginia 2016 These are the ones that I am most interested in

In your list of Wisconsin elections, you listed the ones where the Socilaist Party (the Wisconsin affililate was led by Schneider) made a strong showing. Do I assume you actually meant the elections in the 1920's to 1940's where the Progressive Party of Wisconsin led by the La Folliette's dominated the State elections? Patine
Just now, vcczar said: The Wisconsin ones I listed are elections La Follette won. Oh, yes, when he was still a member of the GOP. I just checked. I had though you had meant to list the ones his sons and nephews won under the Progressive label. And, Schneider's Socialists also had a very strong showing in the elections La Follette won.

I just cross-referenced again, and indeed it seems the big Socialist candidate number (VERY unusually big for any openly, self-identifying old-school socialist in an office as high as Governor in the U.S.), Arminger in 1914 and Seidel in 1918 (almost 18% for Seidel!) were both against Emmanuel Lorenz Philipp, who was a little after La Follette as Governor. A few possble gubernatorial races remain that I'd like to look into, but who will require a few resources beyond simple Wikipedia (like maybe Our Campaign's, U.S. Election Atlas, or even (at times), the particular State Electoral Commission's website (but only some States archive old election results in an online format, not all, for some reason). I'm finishing up New Jersey 2017
