vcczar
Here's another 2020 Issue with candidate positions. Will listen to any suggestions for changing anything below. This assumes tension between the US and Russia increased by 2019. FL: We should ignore Russia; increase cyber security; do not risk war with Russia. L: We should avoid military confrontation with Russia, but combat their hackers. [Trump, Paul, Sanders, Grayson] CL: We need to pressure Russia by exerting our influence on the world; however, we should avoid military conflict. Consider sanctions if they keep meddling. [Biden, McAuliffe, O'Malley, Chafee, KHarris, Gabbard, Castro, Edwards, Bullock, Garcetti, Steyer, Warren, Booker, Gillibrand, ShBrown, Heinrich, Schultz, Franken, Newsom, Buttigieg, Cuomo, Moulton] C: We should increase military and political influence within the Russian sphere of influence, combat hacking, but avoid conflict otherwise. Consider sanctions. [Huntsman, HClinton] CR: We should warn Russia by increasing our influence and our allies against Russian; be prepared for war, consider sanctions, but hope nothing happens. [Kasich, Martinez, Cotton, Sasse, Collins] R: Russia today is as large of a threat as they were during the Cold War. Actively and openly work against them, even if it means war. Slap on sanctions now. [Graham, Cruz, Rubio] FR: We should work to declare war and remove Putin from power. Massive increase in defense spending and troops within Russia's Sphere of influence.
