So this is just a quick poll

2) Unaffiliated; left leaning but the Democratic party leadership is incompetent, the Democrats seem to have gotten more hawkish, and no party cares about fiscal responsibility anymore (huge tax cuts from Republicans, huge spending increases from Democrats), which sucks because I do.

3) 2018, or since you seem to mean Presidential elections, 2020

I can't fill out the third question because the first Federal Election I was able to vote in and did vote in was 1997, but it wasn't a US Federal Election...

I vote Democrat regularly, but only because that party is the only party at a chance for victory that comes close to my political ideals. Thus, I put independent. Had I made this poll, I wouldn't have allowed independent as an option, since most Americans refuse to identify with a party. I would have put, "which party are you more likely to support than the others, in general."

On top of that, from what I've seen these polls tend to unintentionally become more skewed towards Republicans. Most liberal voters I know don't identify as Democrats despite towing the party line for the most part, while most conservatives I know are proud of their Republican party.

Also, the two political parties I've ever voted for in my life (well, three, but one wasn't a Federal Party), aren't active in the United States, and none of the parties you listed above (except the Green Party, which has a branch party in almost every First World Country) weren't on the ballot for me...

It just said what party do you identify which.  Independent simply means that you don't associate with a party.  I could have put that myself but chose Libertarian.

2. I identify with the Democratic Party. There are grievances I have, but they are best equipped to represent the policy I think should be enacted.

3. The first presidential election I could vote in was in 2016. However, the first election in general was for the Virginia 2013 governor's race.

2. Libertarian. I do tend to support Republicans more often than Democrats, except for local elections, in which I almost always vote Democrat.
3. Haven't yet voted, but my dad let me choose which candidates to vote for when he went out to vote.

Mine have too; I've gone from conservative to democratic socialist to center-left in the span of 4 years, so I can't imagine how much one's views can change over decades (to be fair, 4 years ago I didn't care about politics so I adopted my parents' views, and I wasn't that informed when I was a hardline Bernie Bro; as I learned more about politics I've moved closer to the center, a process that leveled off about a year ago)

I'm 41, my political views have changed several times now, the first political party I voted for was the New Democratic Party and the Progressive Conservative provincial (for very different reasons from each other) in the 1997 Canadian and Alberta elections, respectively (though, technically, I first voted in the 1994 Edmonton Mayor and Council, but those are "officially" non-partisan).

My views have been on the move, and while I was an almost perfect centrist before this election, Bernie swept me up and Trump made me distance myself with the modern Right as much as I can. I very much value individual rights and liberties, as long as they don't infringe on other's rights. I am in favor of letting people put whatever they want in, on, and around their body. This leaves me with a view that looks left on the outside. Economically, I am in favor of learning from our mistakes (deregulation of the financial sector caused black Monday in 87, and the housing bubble, taxing bad behavior is more effective than banning it (EPA), we should carefully look at how each piece of spending rather than wasting money, etc). I used to be closer to the Democratic Party than I am (they are sliding left faster than I am), and the Republicans have truly made me hate them by cutting school funding when I was a kid, acting immature, and attacking minority citizens like Muslims, who I know (I work across the street from a mosque). Fear tactics bug me, as does a party in control of both houses of Congress complaining about how our nation is going.
