Do you believe that anyone in the GOP will give Trump a primary challenge in 2020?

I don't see any Republican actually standing up to Trump in 2020 unless he strays far far away from the Republican Party or causes a major disaster, but I honestly don't find either scenario too likely. I have many qualms with him, but he won't run America into the ground. I don't believe any of the major primary Presidential candidates in either party would have had a primary challenge in 2020, and for the most part I would have trusted them to keep the country afloat. Everyone from Chris Christie to Lincoln Chafee to Scott Walker to Bernie Sanders.

Yeah you're probably right.  Still there are people on both sides - Constitutional Conservatives who feel Trump is too far left, and Establishment Republicans / RINOs who don't want the swamp drained.  Thus I added a "Constitutional Conservative" and "RINO" Party in my latest 2020 scenario.

I chose Ted Cruz and "someone else." Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, and John Kasich, should be on here and most importantly Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who is the only person to publicly express interest in running for the GOP nomination in 2020 so far.

I'd be surprised if someone serious doesn't challenge him. But, then again, stranger things have happened... he did get elected.

Hot takes:

-- Cruz is counting the minutes until he can campaign against Donald B. Trump (where the B stands for "Bloviating") or his lackey Pence.

-- Speaking of Pence, Pence will be the "other" is the above poll if Trump "chooses" not to run for a second term.

-- Still not believing Trump makes it through the first term, though.

-- Kelly Ayotte's all set to run, provided not too much Trump scent is micturated upon her before '20. Boy, an Ayotte-Sanders and/or Warren contest would be amazing ... for New Englanders.

-- Any way it turns out, i can't wait to hear the Republicans complaining about the (boo hoo) unfair electoral college in November 2020...

This is a pretty excellent tune.
