Appel4PM 2
I'd like to be the first on this site to offer to say how sorry I am that Mr. O'Brien died yesterday. I may not be a Liberal, although I'm seriously considering joining the Liberal Party, but, as someone living in the maritimes, I am well aware of the amount of respect Mr. O'Brien had from people here and in his home in Labrador. Many people outside of Labrador see the area as nothing more than a big, rocky slab of land jammed onto the eastern side of Quebec with hardly any people living in it, but Labrador was home to Mr. O'Brien for his entire life and a community to him. He was one of the most respected, most well-liked Members of Parliament, both as a man, a Liberal and an aboriginal. And he will be missed. A byelection will be held soon, and, while I'm sure that another Liberal will win and take his place, nobody can really replace Lawrence O'Brien. RIP.
