If US voters nowadays were, in general, as thoughtful, critically-thinking, knowledgeable of the issues as they SHOULD be, and listening and watching the candidates for unrealistic and unattainable claims, statistical misinformation, bigotry masking lack of facts, and outright, bold-faced lies as they SHOULD be, Trump and Cason would NOT in fact be 1st and 2nd, they'd be barely perceptible fringe candidates...

I believe that Ted Cruz has run one of the best campaigns so far. He has done well in most of the debates, and has campaigned strategically (Iowa and New Hampshire). He was the first candidate to announce which gave him easy name recognition and visibility for a little while. He has maintained a good relationship with Trump, in the case that he crashes and burns he can take some support. Not to include some good endorsements (Steve King!!) P.S. I think Sanders has had the best campaign relative to how well he should have been doing. Among strong candidates, I'd say Trump or Cruz.
