That'd be one massive scenario. Hard too. But it would also benefit from the up to 16 partys thing. :)

I' think I'd be up to it. :D I think I mentioned something about this before, but regional parties should have a different set of campaign rules, since they only have a few areas to work with. Barnstorming goes out the window pretty fast. I guess you could set up another scenario with the region expanded.

I just had a thought right now while working on Saskatchewan 1982. it would be nice if, when a party has a name that's too long to fit on screen, it wrapped around and went underneath, so instead of looking like "Progressive Conserv....", it would look like:

"Progressive

Conservative".

The we wouldn't have to shorten party names down.

I was just struck with an idea about party coalitions. There should be 2 different kinds of coalitions: one where the parties combine their total seat counts, and one where the parties actually combine candidates to gain the votes for both parties so that there would be no vote splitting.

Ex. In a riding, if it was

Liberal - 30%

Conservative - 40%

NDP - 30%

The NDP or Liberals would withdraw a candidate to give the votes to the other party. it would be the candidate with the current highest percentage that would get to stay out of the 2.

I was making a map and this idea popped up - the ability to reposition the adview and targeted view toggles in the corner. It'd be nice to be able to move them to the top corner of somewhere else, because they can get in the way.

It's been mentioned, but a data output (perhaps a CSV file?). It would be really nice if this output could give exact vote results, like can be seen in one-constituency regions (i.e. the northern Canadian regions, the various constituencies on the Northern Ireland specific scenario, many UK Counties regions) or even just build this in so you could for example click on a constituency to bring up vote counts.

An election night mode like in President Elect could be nice but hard to code in.

But on THAT list, no. If we're having 5 extra parties there, we should have parties like the SSP, Veritas, Socialist Labour, Liberal and English Democrats. Maybe squeeze in the NF, but definitely not the other three (since they're tiny, and the N9S doesn't even run for election!)

N9s do run in council elections now. Anyway, I am hoping there will be a new edition with historical and future elections released eventually that some of those parties might fit in to. Or at least allow more parties so they could be added.

The N9S and other parties are still very limited (and not big enough to justify it.). There's only likely to be general elections if anything from 80soft. Some of those could potentially have far-right groups in (The New Party and the NF for example) but don't expect more than two of those in any one scenario - and that's pushing it.

I'm currently doing UK 97, but I most certainly won't be including any more far right groups other than the bnp. And that only to make it realistic.

Your support of such groups shows just how much of an extremist and a racist you are.

Okay, guys, no more politics in the Feature You'd Most Like to See thread. Don't even reply to this post to say anything like 'He started it!'. Just keep it out of here.

Just some small things. In the British version, it would be nice to see British words and terms being used.

Barnstorming -> Canvassing

Election day -> Polling day

Platform -> Mannifesto

Blair wins -> Labour wins

It would make it more authentic and its probably one of the easiest suggestions to implement.

I would like to see some sort of Campaign Point Accumulator added;

If you are playing a leader with a low number of Campaign Points, your options each turn are limited. Frequently you can find yourself with one or two Campaign Points that can not get used effectively. If you choose not to use all your Campaign Points, a very small amount of money comes back into your funds.

If we could deposit any unused Campaign Points at the end of each turn, into a 'pot', with the ability to draw them out of this 'pot' in a future turn, it would make it far more interesting, particularly for weaker leaders.

In reality, some party leaders have more voter appeal in different regions. If the game can reflect this, it might make it more fun.

It can already basically. In PM4EC2006, you can adjust candidate starting support depending on region.

Yeah, but for the default party leaders, I don't usually change it, because the starting game setup usually reflects their popularity in different areas. I change it around for alternate leaders, though.
