gopprogressive
So to celebrate my big return to this forum, I will make a UK 2015 election scenario for the 201 engine. For those of you that have already made any, feel free to offer suggestions. If you have any pictures from the official scenario- please send them my way. Just for notes, I'm going to replace Veritas with the English Democrats and add the Christian and Christian People's Party in with them. Respect will include the TUSC as well. I'll get rid of the BNP and replace them with National Health Action- which will also include CISTA. As for the issues in the scenario- here's what I have so far: Asylum and Immigration Balanced Budget Devolution Economy Education Environment European Union Foreign Policy Government Housing Law and Order Military NHS Northern Ireland Political Reform Tax Policy Transport Welfare Issues fixed. Patine
I had started on a hack-job of this for the Canadian PM4E engine a while back, but didn't get very far. I had added Ukraine and ISIS as issues, as they were big things at the time I was working on it (I'm not really sure if they actually came up in the actual election or not). I had also reworded Devolution to take into account the aftermath of the Scottish Referendum, and Welfare to account for the "mandatory work programs" where people on welfare and unemployment insurance are put to what is essentially full-time employment but are still only paid welfare/UI benefits, as legally they're doing a "work program" and not a "job" (which sounds to me as the same kind of legal loophole to get cheaper-than-legal labour as peonage in the Old Deep South). I know this because someone I know online from the UK is enduring said Orwellian program. I think I also had English Governance and NATO issues, if that helps. Like I said, I pretty much quit work on it several months ago to work on other projects, so those issues are probably not fully up to date. rpryor03
It'd be cool for you to do a version for PI or P4E+.
Patine
To be honest, I'm not quite sure I fully understand how a Westminister-style parliamentary election would get any justice or remotely accurate rendering at all by a presidential game engine. Conservative Elector 2
Are you still working on that?
gopprogressive
Are you still working on that? I'm thinking that I may get back to it. Parties wil be (not necesarily in this order), with Leaders in Parenthesis: Labour (Ed Miliband, Alternates: David Miliband, Ed Balls, Andy Burnham, Diane Abbot, Jeremy Corbyn) Conservative (David Cameron, Alternates: Boris Johnson, George Osborne, Nicky Morgan, Theresa May, Michael Gove) Lib-Dem (Nick Clegg, Alternates: Tim Farron, Simon Hughes, Vince Cable) Scottish National (Nicola Sturgeon, Alternate: Alec Salmond) Green (Natalie Bennett, Alternate: Caroline Lucas) UKIP (Nigel Farage) National Health Action (plus CISTA) (Richard Taylor) Ulster Unionist (Mike Nesbitt) Democratic Unionist (Peter Robinson) SDLP (Alasdair McDonnell) Sinn Fein (Gerry Adams) Alliance (David Ford) Respect (includes TUSC, Socialist Labour, etc) (George Galloway) English Democrats (includes Christian, Christian Peoples, TUV) (Robin Tillbrook) Independents (includes Speaker) (John Bercow) As for parties, I think I'll replace the BNP with the National Health Action Party. If someone wants to help me with issues, that would be great.
gopprogressive
Out of curiosity, what are the issues and positions for the official 2015 scenario?
Conservative Elector 2
That sounds very good. Some issue ideas: Referendum on staying in the EU Scottish Independence (Devolution) Syrian refugee crisis Financial aid to Greece Military intervention in Syria Same-sex marriage NHS Relations with Russia I'll add more later, if I get good ideas. gopprogressive
@Issues Asylum and Immigration Budget and Debt Constitution DefenceDevolutionEconomyEducationEnvironmentEuropean Union HousingLaw and Order Middle EastNHSNorthern IrelandPensions Rural AffairsTax PolicyWelfare@end How are these? I'm not sure if Same-Sex Marriage was a bigger issue than Rural Affairs (which includes Hunting Bans), Pensions, or the Middle East (which would include Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Israel-Palestine, and ISIS). Referendum on staying in the EU- in there as European Union Scottish Independence - in there as Devolution Syrian refugee crisis- in Middle East Financial aid to Greece- not really an issue Military intervention in Syria- in there as Middle East Same-sex marriage- not sure if it was much of an issue, it didn't seem to cause that much political fallout or benefit (save by shifting the right of the Tories to the UKIP and the right wing of the Lib-Dems to the Tories) NHS- in there Relations with Russia- not really an issue
