mz452 20
2008 Presidential Election Richard Slattery / Henry Raymond 53.6% John Killebrew / John Skillman 46.4% Senate Standings as of early 2012 Republican 50 Democrat 50 House Standings as of early 2012 Republican 227 Democrat 208 Gubernatorial Standings as of early 2012 Republican 24 Democrat 26 After a winning reelection in 2008 by a comfortable margin, President Slattery and the Republican Party are facing serious challenges. A relative moderate, Slattery is being pushed out of his own party for a younger, more conservative leadership. Unemployment sits at 8.5%, congressional approval is at 17%, and President Slattery's personal approval rating is 43%. The Democrats made major gains across the country in 2010 and hope to continue this trend in 2012. In 2009, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the American Samoa were all granted the right to vote in presidential elections. Additionally, their congressional representatives have received more power. While they still have a long way to go before statehood, these territories could potentially influence the outcome of the election. Also, candidates from this area can now run for the White House. Who will win the White House in 2012? Hi all, I need your help designing a scenario. Obviously I need a large number of Democrats and Republicans (I want contested primaries for all of these scenarios) but I also want third party candidates. Don't be afraid to add Greens, Libertarians, Independents, etc. Don't be afraid to make strong third party candidates! The more candidates, the better the scenario. Also, feel free to add major events and scandals! Title: [state Senator, Governor, Lt.
