POLLWONK
Hey there, This is a scenario that I've been pondering for a while and have finally decided to craft... It's a futuristic and hypothetical setting where the world unites under the banner of the United Nations to form a one world government. Here's the cool part... you get to submit your ideas for the name of the One World Government... AND its parties. So fire away your ideas for parties and such. I'll organize the candidates (prominent global leaders) into the parties that best match their views once your ideas have been submitted. Thanks again! Tayya
We can't have parties based on region only, or the results will be too predictable. My suggestions: Social Democratic Party - Francois Hollande (France) - Dilma Rousseff (Brazil) - Manmohad Singh (India) - Jacob Zuma (South Africa) - Jens Stoltenberg (Norway) Democratic Party - Barack Obama (USA) - Angela Merkel (Germany) - David Cameron (UK) - Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf (Liberia) Conservative Party - Tony Abbott (Australia) - Stephen Harper (Canada) - Donald Tusk (Poland) Imperial Conservative Party - Paul Ryan (USA) - Vladimir Putin (Russia) - Benjamin Netanyahu (Israel) - Xi Jinping (China) Socialist Left and Radical Party - Hugo Chavez (Venezuela) - Cristina Kirchner (Argentina) - Raul Castro (Cuba) - Robert Mugabe (Zimbabwe) - Alexis Tsipras (Greece) Islamic Justice and Construction Party - Mohammed Mursi (Egypt) - Recep Tayyip Erdogan (Turkey) - Raja Pervaiz Ashraf (Pakistan) Green Party - Antanas Mockus (Colombia) - Renate Künast (Germany) - Elizabeth May (Canada) Fascist Party - Nikolaos Michaloliakos (Greece)
Repubican
i don't think that this should be so spreaded. i mean, all usa politicians has the same interests- so if this is world wide, they will be together against partys like the islamic ones. ellchicago
Remember there are two main branches of Islam, Sunni and Shia. It would make sense for them to be seperate parties.

POLLWONK
I think Elliot makes a great point that Shia and Sunni Muslims wouldn't be in the same party. I think I'll seperate them... How do these party names sound? Social Democrats - Francois Hollande (France) - Dilma Rousseff (Brazil) - Manmohad Singh (India) - Jacob Zuma (South Africa) - Jens Stoltenberg (Norway) - Ed Miliband (United Kingdom) Global Progress - Barack Obama (USA) - Angela Merkel (Germany) - David Cameron (UK) - Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf (Liberia) United Conservatives - Benjamin Netanyahu (Israel) - William Hague (UK) - Stephen Harper (Canada) - Angela Merkel (Germany) We.R.Earth - Antanas Mockus (Colombia) - Renate Künast (Germany) - Elizabeth May (Canada) Proletarian - Hugo Chavez (Venezuela) - Cristina Kirchner (Argentina) - Raul Castro (Cuba) - Robert Mugabe (Zimbabwe) - Alexis Tsipras (Greece)

Repubican
you puted angela markle in two partys. oh, and why not adding a republican candidate? but he needs to be in the same party as obama cause they're both americans. i mean, there are 2 canadians, 2 germans, and 3 from UK. usa is the strongest nation right now, so i think there should be a democrad, a rebpublican and possibly more one. and if there is only one from USA, i think netanyahu should be in the same party as the americans, cause USA is the best friend of israel (i don't saying that israel is the best friend of usa, but..) RFK/JFKfan
How about turning this into a decade-by-decade series? This one could be the 2010s edition, with candidates such as Barack Obama, Angela Merkel, Francois Hollande, etc. The 2000s edition could include George W. Bush, Tony Blair, Jacques Chirac, etc. The 1990s edition could include Bill Clinton, Helmut Kohl, Saddam Hussein, etc. And so on. Of course this probably couldn't all be done by one person. Repubican
Angela Merkel will be removed from Global Progress. Mahmoud Abbas added to Global Progress. are you serious? mahmud abbas can't be in the same party with obama and cameron. this is just un-real. you may think he is liberal, but you can't put him with western world leaders. this is non-acceptable. like putting benjamin netanyhu with ardougun. and what about more american candidate? there is only one. maby a repubblican candidate in the united conservative party? Repubican
what about murssi and ardogan? they are importent leaders for islam too, no? and like the idea of primaries between ahmadinijad and khaminai, this can be fun.

POLLWONK
Will add suggested candidates. Please note that this scenario will take a lot of work just to set up... I think that's probably all the candidates I can plausibly include.
Repubican
well, what's up with mahmud abbas? what party will he be? and what about a republican candidate? i realy think this is just logical usa will have 2 candidates like germany and canada, and while usa having only obama (and in 2016 there will be another president), germany got 2, canada got 2 and uk got 3. I hate to criticize you TomFilurin, but you're not approaching this scenario from a global perspective, but from a completely parochial, Israeli-American-centric point-of-view, and you can't do a global scenario like that. You have to look at things more wholistically.
Repubican
that's right, but just try to imagine obama and cameron in the same party as him. this won't happen. he is like erdogan- how much extrimist or not extrimist he is- this is debateable. but he is more fit in one of the muslim partys, he will never be in the same party with american leader- his peoples just won't let him stay a leader. Repubican
British Conservatives are actually fairly similar to American Democrats. i didn't saied that they souldn't be together, i saied that mahmud abbas shouldn't be in the same party as they are and that the secnario needs a republican candidate. ellchicago
The Republicans lost their second consecutive general election. They lost in 2008 because of the Great Recession and in 2012 because the economy got better right before the election and the Republicans alienate Latinos, Moderates, and Women need to win the election. If the Republicans get it together and win the White House in 2016, Chris Christie is likely to become the next President because he is the "next in line" to get the GOP nod. Granted that is massive assumption and a lot can happen in four years. Anyways, Christie would never leave a job to take a new job if he started his old job a few months before,so he would probably wouldn't be a candidate. POLLWONK also said that he is OUT OF ROOM FOR Candidates. I also agree with Patine, you are expressing Israeli-American-centric point-of-view. You need to look at the bigger picture.
