thetrotsky
Good point. Do you think the platform I gave Mr. Ross & the independents make sense? I'll post regionalism shortly. Independants was always going to be tricky with the diverse range of them. I think as they are is fine, but Shane Ross himself is as I said very right wing. But I think the current set up is fine and can be changed on the user choice I suppose. Whilst you sort regionalism ect. want me to make a start on the ridings data? Whilst you sort regionalism ect. want me to make a start on the ridings data? What about his positon on abortion? Do you think CL or C would be accurate. Ross does seem like a centrist populist. Here is what I have for regionalism: // each region should have 18 regional center values// 1 means the regional center is 1, 5 that it is 5 // acceptable values are 1-5 // Abortion // Budget // Childrens' Rights // Defence // Economy // Education // Environment // Europe // Financial Crisis // Government // Healthcare // Irish Language // Northern Ireland // Privatisation // Rural Issues // Senate // Tax Policy // Transport //Northwest // Abortion 5 // Budget 3 // Childrens' Rights 4 // Defence 3 // Economy 3 // Education 3 // Environment 4 // Europe 2 // Financial Crisis 2 // Government 2 // Healthcare 3 // Irish Language 2 // Northern Ireland 2 // Privatisation 3 // Rural Issues 4 // Senate 3 // Tax Policy 3 // Transport 3 //West // Abortion // Budget // Childrens' Rights // Defence // Economy // Education // Environment // Europe // Financial Crisis // Government // Healthcare // Irish Language // Northern Ireland // Privatisation // Rural Issues // Senate // Tax Policy // Transport 4 3 4 3 2 3 3 2 2 3 2 3 4 3 4 3 3 3 //Southwest // Abortion // Budget // Childrens' Rights // Defence // Economy // Education // Environment // Europe // Financial Crisis // Government // Healthcare // Irish Language // Northern Ireland // Privatisation // Rural Issues // Senate // Tax Policy // Transport 4 3 4 3 3 2 4 2 3 2 2 2 2 3 4 3 3 3 //Cork // Abortion // Budget // Childrens' Rights // Defence // Economy // Education // Environment // Europe // Financial Crisis // Government // Healthcare // Irish Language // Northern Ireland // Privatisation // Rural Issues // Senate // Tax Policy // Transport 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 2 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 4 //Southeast // Abortion // Budget // Childrens' Rights // Defence // Economy // Education // Environment // Europe // Financial Crisis // Government // Healthcare // Irish Language // Northern Ireland // Privatisation // Rural Issues // Senate // Tax Policy // Transport 4 3 3 3 3 3 4 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 4 3 3 4 //Centre-East // Abortion // Budget // Childrens' Rights // Defence // Economy // Education // Environment // Europe // Financial Crisis // Government // Healthcare // Irish Language // Northern Ireland // Privatisation // Rural Issues // Senate // Tax Policy // Transport 3 3 3 4 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 4 4 3 1 4 4 //Dublin South // Abortion // Budget // Childrens' Rights // Defence // Economy // Education // Environment // Europe // Financial Crisis // Government // Healthcare // Irish Language // Northern Ireland // Privatisation // Rural Issues // Senate // Tax Policy // Transport 2 3 2 4 3 2 1 4 4 2 3 4 4 4 2 1 4 2 //Dublin North // Abortion // Budget // Childrens' Rights // Defence // Economy // Education // Environment // Europe // Financial Crisis // Government // Healthcare // Irish Language // Northern Ireland // Privatisation // Rural Issues // Senate // Tax Policy // Transport 3 2 3 3 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 4 3 2 2 1 2 2 //Northeast // Abortion // Budget // Childrens' Rights // Defence // Economy // Education // Environment // Europe // Financial Crisis // Government // Healthcare // Irish Language // Northern Ireland // Privatisation // Rural Issues // Senate // Tax Policy // Transport 4 3 3 3 3 3 3 4 3 3 3 3 3 3 4 3 3 3
Patine
I'm just wondering why the map used for the Ireland scenarios isn't divided into counties or another organic division, or why no interest in such a map's been shown?
gopprogressive
I'm just wondering why the map used for the Ireland scenarios isn't divided into counties or another organic division, or why no interest in such a map's been shown? 26 counties is an excessive number; I prefer the current split as it makes more sense and it's manageable. Just my opinion.
thetrotsky
Regionalism seems grand to me, leaning to the right in rural areas and the the left in urban areas. Comin along nicely

Comin along nicely Do you think the regionalism for the Senate issue makes sense? I wasn't sure which regions would be on the issue, so I tried to make the more pro-Labour and FG regions L on the issue. And now I need to do the ridings.
thetrotsky
yeah basically any area that is anything other than largely Fianna Fail will be L on the Seante. If you want I can do ridings tomorow evening, can't do it tonight as I have an exam in the morning. Shouldn't take too long I suppose? thetrotsky
GOP Progressive. Can you send me whatever you have on this scenario so I can put it together and try to get it released asap. I think the vast majority is done now. Just a case of putting all together at this stage

Can't wait to finish it and get playing One suggestion: put Fianna Fail in 2nd place or tied with FG, so the election isn't a total cakewalk for Labour and Fine Gael. Also, what would be a good endorser to replace the Ioana Institute from 2007?
thetrotsky
Can't rember the 2007 endorsers, and don't have it on the computer anymore. I would suggest the ICTU ot if they are already there then maybe the EU/IMF

thetrotsky
Right these ridings. I see the scenarion starts at the end of janurary so should I use opinion polls from then, Which had FF miles behind, or the actual election results which had FF about 3 or 4 points ahead of the polls? thetrotsky
Here these ridings ive looked at look more or less complete. what needs to be done?
gopprogressive
Right these ridings. I see the scenarion starts at the end of janurary so should I use opinion polls from then, Which had FF miles behind, or the actual election results which had FF about 3 or 4 points ahead of the polls? Try to make it challenging at least, put them 4 pts behind FG or tied. There should be 72 ridings- I think I only did like 18 or so, just so we get around 165. I can send you the 2002 and 2007 ones for help.

Please send it to me if you don't mind. Thank you. odaniboi@aol.com I haven't heard from the guy whom I was working with regarding the scenario. I'll finish it up myself. I will also make Fianna Fail a little stronger in the polls, so the election is (kind of) a contest- even though IRL it really was a race between Labour and Fine Gael.
thetrotsky
Gonna apoligise for this guys. First my computer died and I only got myself a new laptop last week. All I had in terms of data for this scenario is lost on my end anyhow. Now I've started Uni and work on top, so doubt I would have much time to start again. GOP if you still want work away with anything I sent you if it helps. I still hope this scenario sees daylight
