RI Democrat
Latest version of UK 1990 - A Nation in Crisis http://www.mediafire.com/?nztwmjk0mi3 Made a number of changes, and managed to fix the problem with the Coalition for Resistance that I mentioned in that other thread. I also made a video to introduce the "backstory" for the heck of it (amateur video editing is one of my other hobbies besides creating scenarios for online election simulators ) - thought you all might enjoy it. Anyway, this may be the final version of the scenario - I'll wait to see what people have to say about it, though, before I decide if it needs any more changes.

matvail2002
Good stuff, downloading now. At 54 MB is that the biggest PM4E scenario ever?
Treasurer
At 54 MB is that the biggest PM4E scenario ever? It's likely, lol. This video addition is genius! Shall play the actual game very soon...
matvail2002
Very good scenario. However, the Norsefire Party could sometimes be unbeatable especially at the end after the Virus. First Time, I won (playing as Norsefire) about 400 seats with 48%. Second Time, I won (playing as Maggie) a majority of about one seat with 38%. Nice selection of leaders, also!
RI Democrat
Actually, I'm going to need to fix the ad types file - one of them (pamphlets, I think) is able to run indefinitely when I didn't intend for that to happen. It is definitely difficult to keep the right-wing parties from winning, though if Norsefire gets accused of creating the virus, that will obviously cost them. I suppose I could try reducing the momentum effects for each of the virus-related events. The large size is due to the video file being included (I wasn't sure if it would show up on the forum). I should probably create an alternate download without the video. Regarding the leaders, was there, IRL, a right-wing alternative to Thatcher at the time? Prior and Heseltine are both to her left, and I wasn't sure if there ought to be an alternative right-wing candidate besides her. (I also considered throwing Brown or Blair into the mix for Labour.) Treasurer
The only plausible right wing alternative within the Conservatives to Thatcher would be Norman Tebbit. Outwith, maybe Enoch Powell, but he was with the Ulster Unionists at the time.
zagatstein
Awesome scenario! I managed to win with Maggie at 40% with a majority of 20. For some reason, Plaid and the SNP did extremely well, much better than I would have expected, mostly at Labour's expense...This was after both the virus event and the event linking Norsefire to the virus. Haven't tried the other parties out yet.

Haven't tried the other parties out yet. Hmmm...I'm not entirely sure why that would happen, though I did set the support for Labour and the Lib Dems as a bit "squishier" than for most of the other parties. My idea was that both of them would have supported at least some of the security crackdowns at first, and therefore some of their more left-wing voters are considering the nationalist parties, the Greens, and the Coalition for Resistance instead. Also, depending on who the leaders were, it may be that the SNP and PC were rewarded more and/or penalized less by certain events compared to Labour, based on differing issue positions. ktitus
If someone has this scenario, could they email it to me at rmfb-2@cogeco.ca? I'd be very appreciative. Thank you for your help. Take Care, Matt The scenario is approx. 65 MB (it includes the video in the first post; approx 53 MB), so I doubt most email services would support it completely. I let TheorySpark know; hopefully it's a simple fix. In the mean time, I'll send you the scenario WITHOUT the video.
