Looks good! I must say that I never seen or made an older fictionnal scenario from more than 40-50 years ago.

A good thing, will be to maybe have some of the ideas of the French political system at that time with a strong Monarchist Party. Also, Socialists were present at that time in France and the Radical Party were more populist at that time than center-left.

These are the party colors:

Conservative=Blue

Liberal=Red

Radical=Orange

Carlist=Gold

Neat idea to have a historical micronation. I'd considered South Guanjin 1977 myself, set in the turbulent years right after the war with Tan Co's grandfather as the incumbent going for a fourth term, the SWNUPG banned but running as a coalition of independents, and a somewhat different mix of other parties (no Radical or Essentialist Parties, for instance).

As for this one, it looks very promising. Keep up the good work!

Hey Matavail,

You were really close:

Conservative=Blue

Liberal=Red

Radical=Green

Carlist=Yellow

Basically the Socialist movement in Alexandria was pretty weak until the 1920s. At this point the Liberals are basically a merger of classical & social liberals as well as socialists (similar to the Lib-Lab pact in the UK or the Liberals in much of Latin America).

Technically, I based them off of the Spanish Carlists who plagued the country during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Basically they were supporters of a reactionary duke who opposed the liberal monarchists and claimed he was the rightful King.

In this case, the split in Alexandria occurred between the German Carl Hohenzollern (Charles X) and the Spanish Queen Teresa Portela (Teresa I) during the 1870s, with the Portela dynasty emerging victorious from the bloody civil war. However, the Carlists still remain strong in German areas due to their affinity for the Hohenzollern family and distrust of the French and Spanish-speakers who supported the Portelas. They are a cross-class party, but they are led by aristocrats.

The Radicals are descendants of the Jacobin rebels of the 18th century, and obtain support from idealistic students, agrarian and working-class rebels, Indians, and the non-white bourgeois.
