Ayati Parliament Election 2009

I'll get working on this as soon as I finish a couple projects currently on my plate. Feel free to come up with party leaders or cabinet members and post 'em here.

Religion:

  • Hinduism 60%
  • Islam 12%
  • Christianity 10%
  • Sikhism 8%
  • Jainism 4%
  • Buddhism 4%
  • None 2%
    Population of 525,000,000

Political Parties:

  • Ayati Peoples' Congress (37%)- liberal ruling party
  • Ayati National Alliance (35%)- conservative opposition

  • Communist Party (8%)- Communist and left-wing revolutionaries
  • Labour Party (4%)- moderate socialist party
  • Muslim League (4%)- Muslim party that is front for Taliban-like guerillas

The Ayati People's Congress has been in power since 1997. Ayati became independent from New Brittanian rule in 1997 after an independence referendum and a separation referendum from Hindustan and Baluchistan. It is dealing with Communist trade union strikes in the industrial cities, and a Muslim revolt in the west coupled with a difficult peace process with Baluchistan.

I'm not the best at this, but i'll try...

Legalise Prostitution. Allow Free flow of sex slave traffic in all areas of country at night hours.

Legalise & set up brothels or red light zone, to ensure safety on sex worker's behalf.

Restrict laws on open prostitution, fines for those who solicit sex in public.

Prostitution is illegal, imminent fines and jail for sex workers and clients.

An immoral practice. Sex workers and clients face execution.

For the vice laws, do you mean especially for the Muslim community?

If, so maybe something like this:

We should legalize gambling and prostitution in Red Light Areas all around our territory. Lift all existing restrictions on alcohol and lower the drinking age to 18.

Gambling should be only allowed in certain cities. Consider lifting some existing restrictions on alcohol.

We should only allow gambling in hotels only for foreigners. Alcohol rules are fine and we should keep the drinking age to 21.

We must take a better suit against vice such as imposing modesty rules for women and outlawing alcohol for the Muslim-majority provinces.

Vice is a big problem in our country! We should have a permanent police against the propagation of vice and we should impose censorship on ''decadent'' foreign movies and TV Shows. Impose a proper dress code for each community.

Most of the Conservatives intensely dislike the Muslim community, to say the very least. But thanks for the ideas

Is it possible to have some info on each party ideology and core voting patterns for each party base?

Ayati Peoples' Congress- Liberal Ruling Party since independence, secular and socially liberal but economically pragmatist

Ayati National Alliance- national conservative opposition, supported by Hindus (with some support from Sikhs, Jains, and Christians), socially and economically conservative

New Center- agrarian party with a strong rural appeal, socially conservative but economically moderate

Labour Party- social democratic party and coalition partner to the the APC, socially pragmatic but economically centre-left

Left Front- Alliance of Communist parties, left-wing but strong in certain regions

Muslim League- Populist Islamic Party, obtains support from the separatist Muslim groups

As of the current year (2009 in the scenario), is Ayati still a Dominion, ie, with a Governor-General? Or does it mirror India in that it became a Republic extremely quickly?
