RFK/JFKfan
In the summer of 1997, Bill Clinton resigns after his affair with Monica Lewinsky is made public. Al Gore is sworn in as President, and a Consititutional Amdenment is put in place. A Presidential Election will be held in November 1998, and every four years after that. Candidates: Democrats Al Gore Lyndon LaRouche Bill Bradley John Kerry Howard Dean Republicans George W. Bush John McCain Newt Gingrich Pat Buchannan Alan Keyes Colin Powell
Abe Lincoln
Sounds interesting. Add Newt Gingrich for the Republicans as he was essentially the face of the party at this time. Also add Bob Dole as he was the Republican in 1996.
RFK/JFKfan
I'll just add Newt Gingrich. Bob Dole would have been too old in 1998.
Abe Lincoln
I'll just add Newt Gingrich. Bob Dole would have been too old in 1998. Only 2 years older then when he actually did run for president.
Kauai
Only 2 years older then when he actually did run for president. He'd be 76. He wouldn't recontest the nomination.
Abe Lincoln
Also on democrats you could add Mario Cuomo who would be 65 and only 4 years out of being governor of New York.
dwkulcsar
Try putting Paul Wellstone as a Dem Candidate, be sure his color is green.
P.C
Also make sure that during this time, kind of hurt Gingrich's popularity because he was having an affair during that time too.
deldem
How about Perot? Even though it seems a little crazy to run a third time, maybe he would have done it in this sort of scenario due to the power vacuum. Also, Joe Biden for the Dems. dwkulcsar
I'd like to see Zell Miller in for the Dems, would add make the map a bit diverse and would have a southerner in the mix.
