Astaria - 1978

Astaria - 1976 is in development and should be ready by the second week of January. It is set in a large, poor country which has just shaken off its military rulers, and it faces many of the problems common in South America from 1970 to the current day. A series of scenarios is planned, along the same lines as this one.

Summary: Military rule is over in Astaria, and the transitional government has called elections. Will the anti-junta leftist parties win, or will they be defeated by the more moderate reform forces?

Parties in order of importance:

Social Democratic (broad left-wing party)

Socialist (rural left-wing revolutionaries)

Christian (moderate, pro-democracy Catholics)

Liberal (urban, middle-class economic liberals)

Conservative (rural landowners)

National Salvation (former right-wing ruling party)

Reformed Church (evangelicals)

Regional and Independents

Sample issues: Land Reform, Drug Trade, Armed Forces, Trade, Economy, Insurgency...

The things that need finishing are the images, including map, and the ridings data.

Land reform?

BTW, are you finding that Chávez looks like Mussolini in this picture with the red soldier cap?

Land Reform was an issue in 1978 and the 1980s but was resolved during that era.

Yes, actually Chávez does resemble Mussolini, though Mussolini wore the far-right black while Chávez of course wears the Socialist-Communist red.
