Treasurer
This is an idea i had and moved it into it's own thread, to start this project going. I think it's a great idea. You play these scenario's in chronological order, play as the same fictional politician(if you want), and work your way up from using the British system from councillor to MP, to frontline MP and then becoming Prime Minister, and winning the fictional general election. Now if someone would want to copy my idea for US/Canadian/whatever politics, your welcome to it. Now read my layout: Finding Favour at Party HQ - The first scenario and first step to get yourself a career in politics is, to find favour in your party HQ, so whats unique about this scenario is, you are not travelling around a country, region or state, but a building, trying to please the membership, going to different rooms to help establish yourself, such as for example, the Debating room, Commons Room etc. This scenario would be repeated for 4 parties, following the English political system, Labour, Conservative, Lib Dem and either Green or UKIP. So choose between maybe at least 4 wannabes. Council Ward election - The next scenario and next step is to become a councillor, is a by-election for a council ward has occured and your character has been selected. So all fictional politicians included in the first chapter will be included and so on. The council ward could be fictional but based in England. Become Council Leader - Not sure whether to do this one, but much like the first chapter, your character must find favour among other councillors to become Council Leader, travelling around the Council Parliament or whatever it's called. All 4 parties running against each other. Become MP in By-election - You have been chosen to participate in by-election. Become member of the cabinet - Travel amongst House of Commons and Party HQ, to impress the Prime Minister or opposition leader to become part of their cabinet. Scenario for each party. Win Leadership election - Travel around Britain, campaigning to become leader, against same fictional opponents and maybe new characters. Win General Election! - The last in the series. I want the by-election locations to be fictional but based in England, just for a change. Can you guys help add fictional candidates please? Would like a mix of old, young, male/female, race but mostly of English descent, and a slight emphasis on young (20's-40's) politicians. I was originally thinking 4 candidates for 4 parties, but lets double that to 8. Only 4 parties will be included to keep workload down! Would you like the Greens or UKIP as the fourth party, or do you have any fictional/real alternative?

w0036471
If you want a suggestion for a Green candidate, you could look at Adrian Ramsey who's their leader in Norwich, holds the balance of power on Norwich City Council, and fancies a shot at Charles Clarke's seat next General. I'm actually going to to do a Norwich 2008 council election scenario, so i'll probably have him in that, which is a few good scenarios away from the ones i'm making the now. Anyway, it's fictional candidates only for this career mode, you can upload the photos of well-known politicians though, just give them different names, and maybe different party. matvail2002
Just wondering, is Dover is in blue territory?
Treasurer
Eh, based on recent times, i think it's been Labour, but it's one of the few (or couple) in a very Conservative region. Yes, just to confirm, Dover's been a Labour seat since 1997. Name: Mr. Barry Scott Party: Conservative Age: 33 From: Lincoln Stats: Leadership 2, Integrity 3, Experience 1, Charisma 4, Stamina 4, Issue Familiarity 3, Debating 3 Background: Former Car Salesman turned politician. Left his middle class roots to join army, but left after 6 months. He is educated, but although having had no politics study at College or University, he became a member of the Tories, through networking. Having the gift of the gab, has made it look a lot easier! Only 7 Green fictional candidates left to enlist. I'll add some later on, if it isn't filled up yet. The first scenario to be made will be Labour's, on finding favour at it's party HQ. Don't have a clear title for it yet.
gopprogressive
You shouldn't make so many Greens. I'd split it up with other parties.
Treasurer
How would that work? Shall we just have a 4th party simply called "Others". I only want to make 4 scenarios at the most for each stage. This would mean 2 Greens, 2 UKIP, 2 BNP, and perhaps 2 Socialist Alternative/Communist candidates? I'm basing the by-elections in England, so i can't do nationalist parties. So they'll be campaigning for favour with the ""Others", under Others in By and general election and for leadership of others? I like the idea, for the sake of variety. But i don't want to make seperate scenarios for the minor parties! So for now give me 1 more Green candidate 2 UKIP candidates 2 ]BNP candidates And which left wing party? British Communist Party, Socialist Alternative, George Galloway's Left Alternative party or the Respect Party?
Patine
Definitely Respect. It was the only alternitive left-wing party that made TheorySpark's official BPM4E scenario (2005).
