Michigan Gubernatiorial - 2010

Recommended Posts

Being from Michigan, I'll help you out here.

DEMOCRATS

Lt. Governor Don Cherry

Fmr. Mayor Dennis Archer

Fmr. Congressman David Bonior

Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano

State Representative Marc Corriveau

REPUBLICANS

Dick DeVos

Attorney General Mike Cox

State Senator Nancy Cassis

Secretary of State Terry Lynn Land

Congressman Mike Rogers

Congressman Peter Hoekstra

Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. Two Congressman won't challenge each other, but both Hoekstra and Rogers are sick of the minority.

Michigan Fraternal Order of Police would be actually Conservative or most likely Neutral.

Um...you forgot the UAW? They are a huge endorsement in this state.

Lee Iacoca should be a Conservative leaning endorsement as well.

Some of the newspapers listed as "liberal" should be centrist. I'd suggest putting equal numbers of Conservative and Liberal and Centrist endorsements.

what about some issues?

Economy

Unions

Out Of State Trash

Evolution vs. Creationism

Coal-Fired Power Plants

Environment

Great Lakes' Protection

Big Three

Old Economy vs. New Economy

Taxes

Business Tax

Budget

I'll see if I can't remember some more.

Once you're done with this, I'll try my hand at 2006. There's a ton of info about that one.

amazing.

I wish more people would create new scenarios out of maps ive made.

Cuomo Senior in New York

Long in Louisiana.

Bradley in California (how amazing would it be for the game to produce the Bradley effect! if only...)

Playing your own scenarios after having space barred through them a million times during the building process turns out to be pretty darn dull!

I'm almost done with Louisiana 1928. I just need to find some sort of indication as to turnout in rural v. urban parishes.

The funny thing is that I didn't use your map. I finished my map a couple of days before you put out 2007. I was pretty angry. : )

Focus on protecting old economy jobs (manufacturing) vs. attracting new economy jobs (technology). It's an important question, but not one that matches up left and right that well.
