  3. President Reagan has reached his term limit and for the first time in 8 long years it looks as though the Democrats may have a shot, and they know so. Many big name Democrats have entered the race in the hopes of bringing their party back to the White House, though, maybe an outsider or a more obscure candidate could storm the field and maybe even be the champion the Democrats need. Still, the Republicans aren't done yet. They have strong popularity coming from Reagan and two landslide victories that say the Democrats may still need to prove themselves capable of of breaking 100 EVs before they can think about returning to the White House. At the moment VP George HW Bush seems to be the presumptive nominee for his party, though his position is not unshakeable. With the Iran-Contra affair looming maybe the Republicans will want a break from the Reagan administration possibly moving to a more moderate wing of the party, or maybe by selecting a candidate with the same values but a cleaner record. Only time will tell... ------------------ As you've probably guessed this is a 1988 election RP, I hope you enjoyed the setup. So, please feel free to pick your candidate, hopefully we'll be able to start off soon! Chosen Candidates @TheLiberalKitten - Michael Dukakis @PringlesN7 - Al Gore @The Blood - Jesse Jackson @Reagan04 - Phyllis Schlafly @Hestia11 - Nancy Kassebaum @WVProgressive - Patrica Schroeder @Sean F. Kennedy - John Glenn @superezione - Joe Biden @Zenobiyl - Jack Kemp @ALiteralNeoliberal - George HW Bush @Cenzonico - Ron Paul
  4. Kennedy rallies in New Vegas on the subject of his defeat of the Boomers. He also segways into integration saying about how Ghouls, Mutants and humans have common goals and enemies and how working together can lead to prosperity. Kennedy rallies in Nellis Air Force Base, praising his men and speaking on civil rights, during this time he makes sure to up the defenses. Kennedy gathers strategists to begin work on a plan to attack Caesar's Legion. He may reach out to other enemies of the Legion but decides not to just yet as he wants to test out how good his relations with them are.
  5. 1. YES I like the PI system as having primaries add to the fun, I don't mind whether fiction, US, or fictionalized US. 2. To completion - Dracula 3. Don't drink it 4. Too hard to answer, so I'll pick a lesser known politician I like, Ian Lavery
  6. Kennedy leads the Super Mutants in a raid on the Boomers Kennedy holds a rally in which he stresses how he can defend the people from the Boomers Kennedy holds a rally for Ghouls and Super Mutants in which he emphasizes his record on Civil Rights
  7. Kennedy holds a rally in which he emphasizes his experience as President, Attorney General and senator. Kennedy barnstorms in New Vegas attempting to establish himself as a viable alternate. Kennedy attempts to sabotage Kimball's campaign order to make himself appeal as the top Democrat.
  8. Rally in New York Calmly, John Lindsay walks to the podium. Placing a hand on either side be begins to speak into the microphones. Hello my fellow New Yorkers, my fellow Americans. Today, I am going to speak to you about a matter of great importance. That is, the threat posed by Senator Barry Goldwater. I know this a matter that I seem to have obsessed over, but that is because it is important! Senator Goldwater is possibly one of the greatest threats to our nation. His promises of use of Nuclear weapons in Vietnam will have effects that we cannot comprehend! His views on civil rights would take away the constitutional rights of hundreds of thousands of Americans and could destroy the hopes of fledgling businesses who, if undisturbed by the likes of Goldwater, could bolster our nations economy. It is because of this and far more that I am endorsing Richard Nixon for the nomination. Only through an alliance of moderate and liberal Republicans can Goldwater be stopped, and I will not aid him by stifling this alliance. So, to all who supported me, to all who respect our constitution, to all who want to see our planet keep turning, please, support Richard M. Nixon for the Republican nomination, he is the only one who can stop Goldwater.
  9. Trump will hold a rally in Texas, he will cover most of his ideas but will especially focus on border security and immigration. Trump holds a rally in his home state of New York, he will speak about taxes, tariffs and other economy orientated policies Trump releases a nation wide TV ad. In the ad he attacks the other candidates, comparing their policies to his own.
  10. Rally - New Hampshire John Lindsay takes the stage in an energized manner Hello New Hampshire! Today I am here with a message that, while I an delivering here, I hope goes to the whole country. And that message is the danger posed by Barry Goldwater! Lindsay fixes his tie, gathering himself Barry Goldwater is a threat to our country, our party and our planet. How you may ask? Well, allow me to explain to you. In 1964 Senator Goldwater lost in a landslide defeat, that is not something you recover from! He has been rejected once before and will be again, can you imagine how this would set back our great party? But, my fellow Republicans, that is not the greatest danger he poses! The senator is on record as opposing the civil rights act. In our constitution, does it not read that all men are created equal? Opposition to the civil rights act hoes against that, Barry Goldwater is running on an unconstitutional platform. Imagine how our country would be if we allowed those with blatant disregard to out nations sacred document into power? It would make all of our greatest men and women turn in their graves! Finally, this is the point that scares me most. Our country is currently trapped in a war in Vietnam. I want to pull us out, bring our troops him safe and having fought the good fight, Goldwater on the other hand wants to do the unthinkable. Barry Goldwater wants to use nuclear weapons to end the war, and the world. Has he not listened to the great Eisenhower? So, New Hampshire, America. I beseech you, don't vote for Barry Goldwater. Influence Lindsay meets with leading black Republicans and the leaders of black Republican organizations. He asks for them to support him, or at least denounce the heavy conservative wing of the party. He cites his support for civil rights as well as his actions in Harlem as Mayor of New York as reasons to receive support and cites the records of many leading members of the conservative wing of the party as reasons to denounce them. Schmooze Lindsay meets with party bosses in Texas. He mentions that his position as an outsider and his liberal record could put him in favour with the state that is home to the current President Lyndon Johnson. He says how his outsider position could make him free of any aura of internal fighting within the party and his record could swing Democrat supporters to the Republican cause.
  11. Trump holds a rally in South Carolina where he explains how he will fight for blue collar workers by not allowing big businesses to sell out to China Trump releases a national ad campaign attacking Jeb Bush. He claims that America was born from fighting against a monarchy and another Bush as President would be defying that principle. Trump holds a rally in Carson City. He stresses that he is the only candidate who is capable of defeating Hillary Clinton because he is capable of being an individual.
  12. Rally in New Hampshire John Lindsay holds a rally and meets voters in New Hampshire. Lindsay takes the stage and heads to the podium Hello, hello He waves to the crowds I've come to you today to speak about, what in my opinion is, an important issue. Said issue is healthcare. How many of you have suffered difficulty from having to pay such high prices for healthcare? There are some murmurs in the crowd Exactly! It is my view that no American should have to pay for the fundamental right of healthcare. You do not choose to become sick or injured, so why should you have to pay when you are? Good, hard working people in our great nation are forced into debt because they suffered an injury. This is not right and it is something I will work to fix. I promise to work with the private sector to ensure all Americans have access to free healthcare. Cheers Some of you may accuse me of being Unamerican for holding this view, I can even feel the scorn of some members of y own party growing as I give this speech. So let me say this to you. One of the finest men the Republican party has produced, I'll go as far as to say one of the finest men our country has produced President Theodore Roosevelt advocated for free healthcare. So, should you wish to denounce me for being a Republican who wants to give our people free access to healthcare, then know, you must also denounce the great Teddy Roosevelt! The crowd clap cheer and whistle Thank you New Hampshire! And remember! In two weeks you vote on who will become the GOP nominee for President, and I want you to think something at that ballot box. "Which of these candidates will help me, the American citizen?" and then, I want you to remember, that I will fight for the rights of every citizen of this country, regardless if race or gender, I will ensure that you all have free access to our healthcare system, I will keep myself open to working with anyone of any party for the best interests of this country. Once again, thank you New Hampshire! It has been an honour speaking to you! As Lindsay leaves the stage he walks through the crowds, shaking hands and exchanging words with people. Influence John Lindsay arranges a meeting with Former President Dwight Eisenhower. In this meeting Lindsay says that Eisenhower should think over who he endorses rather than sticking with convention of automatically endorsing his Vice-President. Lindsay stresses to Eisenhower that he is not fishing for his endorsement, he merely wants to stress the danger that Nixon poses to the Republican party's ideology. Lindsay asks that Eisenhower endorse the candidate that he believes to be best at continuing his ideology rather than endorsing Nixon for the sake of tradition. Rally in California Lindsay gives his rally in a town hall, he greets people and shakes their hands as he walks to the front Greetings California! I must say, today is a beautiful day, so thank you for giving up a few hours of it to be with me, or would you like to take this outside? There are laughs from the audience Today I am here to speak to you about a candidate who hails from this state. Governor Ronald Reagan. It's quite obvious that he and I hold different views on the way things should be and today I have come to speak to you about choice. No doubt many of you support the Governor, how else would he have won the primary to run for his current office? But at the same time, he has obviously not run unopposed in his primaries, he has faced other Republicans and it is these other Republicans and their supporters who I am here to speak to today. Governor Reagan hails from this state, no doubt this makes some of you feel obligated to support him regardless of which wing of our party you sit in. This is why I came to speak to you. We may be from different states but we are all members of the same party and any good candidate wants the best for all rather than just those of their home state. So California, I appeal to you, when the time comes, don't think by state lines, think by party lines. When the time comes, don't select the one from your state solely because he is from your state. Select the one who holds the ideals that you prefer, pick the man with the ideas you want to see come to fruition! California, and any who may be elsewhere watching this, please keep this message in mind throughout this race. Thank you! Lindsay speaks to a few people in the crowd, answering some questions for them before he leaves.
  13. Trump holds a rally in which he boasts about his victory in Iowa, saying he didn't even have to turn up to the debate to win Trump releases an attack ad on Rubio Trump gives a speech against free trade in Manchester, New Hampshire
  14. Influence John Lindsay meets with leading figures among the Eisenhower Republicans. He speaks to them about how despite having been his Vice-President, Nixon isn't really the heir to Eisenhower's ideology. He then reminds them that he was one of the founders of the Youth for Eisenhower club. Schmooze Lindsay meets up with high profile New York Republicans. He again speaks about his experience with both executive and legislative arms of the government as well as informing them of his tenure as President of The New York Young Republican Club.
  15. John Lindsay Rally - NYC Lindsay waves to the crowd as he walks on stage and to the podium Hello, hello... Hello, as you all know I've announced my candidacy for President The crowd cheer Thank you, thank you. So, as you know I, your Mayor, am running for to become President of this great nation of ours. There are of course many reasons for this, one here I will highlight is experience. As you will know, prior to my tenure as Mayor I served as Representative for the seventeenth district, this, I believe, has given me good knowledge of how the legislative arm of our government works, knowledge of how to get bills through the house and has allowed me to forge relationships with Representatives and even Senators, something which will be indispensable in a role such as the President of the United States. Not only this, my time as your mayor has allowed me to gain knowledge in how the executive branch of government works. As Mayor, I have put together budgets, passed laws and worked with members of the community as well as members of the city government. All of this falls into and beyond Presidential duty! The crowd once again cheer And now, I'd like to talk about progress. In 1964 President Johnson passed the Civil Rights act. While some, such as Senator Barry Goldwater, saw it as controversial and even tried to have it repealed, I saw this as a step in the right direction. As you will know I regularly walk through Harlem, an area of our city that has a very high population of African and Hispanic Americans. And, it is no secret that economically, Harlem is struggling. And this is because of the now rightfully abolished segregation. The denizens of Harlem were unable to branch out of certain areas of the city, they were closed off, isolated. Our fellow Americans suffered and the Civil Rights act has helped to alleviate that. As President, I will continue work for equality between the races, because we live in the land of the free! The Declaration of Independence states that all men are created equal, and so, I will not rest until these words ring true for everyone who lives in our great nation. Thank you! The crowd applaud and cheer as Lindsay waves and walks off the podium
