  1. I disagree. If you want to vote for yourself or somebody else not on the ballot because you don't approve of any of the candidates that's perfectly valid, but voting is a civic duty.
  2. There's no doubt that Boston is racist, as the entire country is rooted in racism. I just don't think it's especially racist compared to other cities. I might say that it is about equivalent with dozens of other cities as the most racist, though.
  3. https://www.wcvb.com/article/boston-city-councilor-michelle-wu-to-run-for-mayor-next-year-marty-walsh-says/33943475# This is important to note because Walsh has long been rumored as a potential cabinet pick for Joe Biden. Additionally, Wu would be the first person who isn't a white male to become Mayor. I think she has a pretty good shot at winning even if Walsh runs for reelection, but if he doesn't, she's a shoo-in.
  4. My hometown is in suburban MA and is heavily pro-Trump, but the city I go to school in definitely does not have a ton of pro-Trump signs. I can't say there are a lot of Biden signs either, but he will no doubt win the city.
  5. I was unaware of this. I've heard the term "Native American" applied to people from the Americas but outside the United States, and assumed the term "African-American" was used the same way. Still, she has African heritage and is an American, so there really shouldn't be any question as to whether she's an African-American or not.
  6. This is just completely false. Her ancestors came from Africa by way of Jamaica (part of the Americas). Not sure where you're getting the idea that she isn't part African-American.
  7. I hope you're right, but I'm not so confident. I'm trying to treat this race like anything's possible.
  8. I thought I heard Trump was breaking tradition and giving speeches each night. Was that an inaccuracy?
  9. It was Susan B. Anthony
  10. For what it’s worth, no Kennedy has ever run for Governor so I doubt he ever considered it. Plus he would stand no chance against Baker. He would have been best off waiting until Markey or Warren retires or if Warren gets a cabinet spot. Yea I’m obviously supporting the more progressive candidate, but I’m still not optimistic because of these polls. Statewide and congressional polls in Massachusetts haven’t always been terribly accurate.

Honestly, this is more hostile than anything they said, but you don't see me crying to the admin. Grow up.

I perused this thread and couldn't find any personal insults. All I see is them pointing out weaknesses (or complete inaccuracies) in your argument. I think you need to grow some thicker skin. This is already a pretty civilized forum. If you want to see uncivilized, go join your local town's political Facebook page.
  13. There's no way anyone is going to "crush" Charlie Baker, and especially not Joe Kennedy. Like @Reagan04 said, Kennedy has the charisma of a wet rag and getting him out of political office will be doing Democrats a huge favor.
  14. Sec of State: fmr. Sen. Russ Feingold (midwest) Sec of Treasury: Prof. Stephanie Kelton (wonk, woman, mid-Atlantic) Sec of Defense: Rep. Barbara Lee (black, woman, deep south) Att Gen: DA Rachael Rollins (black, woman, wonk, New England) Sec of Interior: fmr. Gov. John Hickenlooper (interparty rival, mountain) Sec of Agriculture: farmer and civil rights activist John Boyd (black, wonk, upper south) Sec of Commerce: fmr. Gov. Jon Huntsman (Republican, mountain) Sec of Labor: Councilwoman Kshama Sawant (Asian, woman, wonk, west coast) Sec of HUD: Prof. Rac
  15. I would agree that a local official would be best for Secretary of Transportation. The only public transportation in Cranston are the RIPTA buses though, so I would personally go with someone who has overseen a larger transportation system. Seattle has arguably the best public transit in the country, so I personally would have nominated Jenny Durkan, but with what's happened over the past couple months in Seattle, I couldn't in good conscience nominate her. I'm not sure who I would nominate instead, though.
  16. Wasn't aware Allan Fung was known on a national level. What qualifies him to be Secretary of Transportation, though?
  17. Tucker Carlson and Dave Portnoy
  18. Is it just me, or have we had a tournament like this before and had the exact same final?
  19. That's too bad. Markey's not perfect, but he's better than Kennedy. Kennedy wouldn't be where he is if it weren't for his last name.
  20. Do you have a link for this poll? Last I heard, Markey was leading by several points, but now the only poll I can find has Kennedy leading by one point.
  21. Regardless of whether he has the most delegates, a large portion of his supporters won’t vote for Bloomberg. I know I wouldn’t. If Bloomberg is the nominee, Democrats have no chance.
