  2. I am done. I am done seeing this forum continuously left to locked threads, bad-faith arguments, and constant fighting. I am done seeing people I highly respect being roped into fights with people who have no regard for their arguments, and who would much rather engage in throwing away opposing evidence, refusing to recognize their opponent's points, acting superior to others, and all around being a negative influence on this forum. I am done with every post being a flame war, and I am done seeing flaws in our moderation system exposed through the recent arguments and flame wars on this forum.

  7. Here is what I would say about the composition of the court... 1. Chief Justice @Conservative Elector 2: Solidly a member of the conservative bloc on the court, and a rigid textualist. Most economically libertarian on the court. Justice C was appointed by Bush in 2005 to replace William Rehnquist. 2. Justice @Reagan04: Another member of the conservative bloc on the court, and a huge proponent of civil liberties versus government intrusion. Very opposed to the regulation of intrastate commerce and skeptical of the vague claims of programs such as the Affordable Care Act. The most se

Here's where we would possibly fall as 2020 candidates on the issues: Far-Left: Scored higher than 51+ left @avatarmushi @TheMiddlePolitical @MysteryKnight @Rodja @vcczar @WVProgressive @Centrist Emperor Kerzaris (Now the most extreme +68, despite saying the country is better off after Trump) @MBDemSoc Left: Scored between 31-51 left @Mark_W @Zen

  15. President Hollingsworth gives a speech after the death of Hamilton Fellow Countrymen, Our nation emerged from the conflagration of revolution just 17 short years ago. Our form of government has stood for only a decade. As I enter office as your third President, I seek to lead a nation which cannot afford to devolve into rule by bullet rather than by ballot. I should hope to amend the fractures between North and South, Republican and Federalist. Our duty as Americans is to prove our model of government the finest on earth seen since the days of Athens and the Roman Senate. Our duty is

  17. "Keep your comments fact-oriented and if you want to attack, attack an idea, not a user." Keep in mind there are people from various political backgrounds here. The great advantage of a place like this is you get something unusual - many smart, well-informed people from different political backgrounds discussing and analyzing topics. But that comes with a risk - people with politically divergent views often don't have similar values, and can not get along very well. So keep comments focused on facts. If you want to attack, attack an idea, not a user.

No. Ever been to Arizona? No. Ideal place to live? Portland, Maine, and I plan on moving there after I finish my education Did you vote?(I don't care who you voted for. I'm asking if you voted ) No. Joe Biden isn't worth committing voter fraud over . Preference: Cake or pie? Cake. Especially Ice-Cream-Cake, I have one for my birthday every year.

Calling him immature and unaccountable is a personal attack in itself, you said he "cries to the admin", earlier today, another personal attack, you frequently use "_______ _____" and stuff in place of insults when we all know what you're trying to say. You say vcczar constantly cries to the admin and doesn't act like an adult when it is you who is doing it. This is one page (of 23) of your post history. You've contributed to the recent toxic culture more than anyone here has

  24. Agreed. I happen to disagree with @PoliticalPundit's analysis, but he's been much more civil than @Patine has been lately. You've got to calm down, man. The personal attacks left and right have got to stop. Look at how @vcczar responded - pointed out a perceived flaw in reasoning and politely explained why he finds that to be an important part of the argument. It's very civil, even though you can tell that @vcczar and @PoliticalPundit are disagreeing. V clearly states he disagrees with the assessment, in fact. Likewise, just the other day I was a clown and thought something was unconstitu

  25. I actually do understand that you’re trying to make a rational argument here, and I appreciate that as it’s a rarity on the internet. But a few things to clarify, as an Iraq War Veteran myself. 1) “The VA” is actually something like 480 different hospitals across the country. Some of them are, indeed, poorly run. The one in Phoenix made national news a couple years ago for being shockingly bad. But most of them are outstanding. In Michigan, for example, the civilian hospitals got immediately overrun with COVID and it was the VA hospitals there who stepped up to save the day by “activ

Hopefully everyone involved has learned something for this, I know I have. Everyone on this forum is a wonderful person who contributes to the unique culture we have here in their own way. I usually despise talking about politics with people, but with you guys I can do it all day. 27. I don't know how to articulate my points better than to say them outside of a vote. Everyone has the right to their own beliefs and to post them in a free and open manner, including in this forum. That includes the admin, regardless of political view. People can jibe each other, whatever. I admit that I do it as well. But I never will make a personal attack on someone else's intellect, and I thought everyone on this forum was better than that. I learned that I was wrong. I have been on this forum since 2018, and I have never been treated worse than the way I was treated today. It hurts me

  30. I appreciate the change. This forum used to be dead before we started talking politics — the common thread that binds us, even when we disagree. There’s only so much you can say about the game — I’d check in maybe once a year to see if there was an update, instead of multiple times a day to see if there’s an interesting discussion.

Age: 37 mountain Dew: I’m not sure if I’ve ever had it. I’m a Coke drinker. Mass Effect: Yes. I was obsessed with the second game — I thought the suicide mission was a masterpiece. My wife still jokes about how heartbroken I was when one of my favorite characters died. Didn’t love the third game as much, but I was still into it. Then I reached the ending...and it was just the WORST. It shit all of the rest of th

If Trump wins all the tilts, then it is a 269-269 tie, which is frightening. I created an algorithm that adjust the avg state polls, attempting to factor in tends in demographic support, trends in polling, trends in economics, approval, favorability, and many more. Basically, the numbers don't matter as much as which way these things are trending overall. One factor that is really helping Trump is that Hispanic support is trending better for Trum

I'm tired of FPTP and preferences We need electoral reform! PR and MMP! Heck it'll just make me want to make even more scenarios for all of you guys!

I love this community, the game and its admin are just an unfortunate side piece of our community. As far as I'm concerned, 270soft forum is for a great community, not a subpar game.

Trump won 11. And there was exactly one 269-269 split. I have a lot more interesting stats at the end -- but first, some pictures! Here was Biden's most dominant win, 444-94. Honorable mention to Biden's second most dominant win, 441-97: Donald Trump's most dominant win. 327-211. And dishonorable mention to Trump's second highest performance, 322-216. But now the interesting thing:

  47. I appreciate the apology. I apologize for instances wherein I've cross the line. Like others, I think politics is a combat sport, even if we don't want it to be. Politics is more personal than ever in an era of identity and polarization. We have our own ideas of what America is, what it should be, what it was, and what it was meant to be. As with all histories and theories, there isn't really an answer--or correct answer--to this. There's only our answer or our opinions. We drop the term "anti-American" or "not American" when we get angry. I do it. You do it. I think many of us have done
