  1. I wrote a denunciation speech last night. My mood is now more somber and sad than angry. I can't tell you how many countless hour I've spent on this forum the last 7 or 8 years. Before I post my speech. I want to thank you all for making this forum wonderful, when it was was wonderful. I've made true friends here. For those that want to continue the community we had, I've built a new forum. It is for us. Send me a private message with your email or contact another (formerly) active user to reach this forum. I've gotten about 15 to 20 inquires already. @admin_270 is welcome, even though I

Then they came for the rational thinkers, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a rational thinker And then they came for the centrists but I didn't speak out because I missed that thread PP hasn't gotten banned yet, a quandry I'm not good at poetry Rotary

  5. I am done. I am done seeing this forum continuously left to locked threads, bad-faith arguments, and constant fighting. I am done seeing people I highly respect being roped into fights with people who have no regard for their arguments, and who would much rather engage in throwing away opposing evidence, refusing to recognize their opponent's points, acting superior to others, and all around being a negative influence on this forum. I am done with every post being a flame war, and I am done seeing flaws in our moderation system exposed through the recent arguments and flame wars on this forum.

  6. I predict that Joe Biden will defeat Donald Trump 307-231. My write-up for this prediction is found on my blog: https://historymonocle.com/2020/11/02/2020-election-prediction/ I will make my final 270Soft post later this afternoon. I am creating a new forum along with some other active members from this forum. I'll explain how to get there in my final post for anyone interested. All those that don't seek disharmony will be welcome. My map is here: vcczar @Reagan04 @Actinguy @Patine @Conservative Elector 2 @TheMiddlePolitical @WVProgressive @SilentLiberty @pilight @admin_2

  7. I actually thought of the original poem when I got banned, after initially agreeing with Patine's ban. My bad, Patine. Admin's overactive protection of a specific user of this forum, to the detriment of all other users of this forum, will eventually lead to the end of this forum.

  11. Here is what I would say about the composition of the court... 1. Chief Justice @Conservative Elector 2: Solidly a member of the conservative bloc on the court, and a rigid textualist. Most economically libertarian on the court. Justice C was appointed by Bush in 2005 to replace William Rehnquist. 2. Justice @Reagan04: Another member of the conservative bloc on the court, and a huge proponent of civil liberties versus government intrusion. Very opposed to the regulation of intrastate commerce and skeptical of the vague claims of programs such as the Affordable Care Act. The most se

Next up, The lockbox and states being called on election night. Perhaps the one I have been requesting the most, city names! Allowing campaign designers to make campaigns more in depth. Its the little things that do that. The next one I don't have a screenshot for is a news story. "Candidate A loses home state in latest polling" If anyone wants to add to this, please do.

  15. Something I've noticed - neither of them are particularly good at contextualizing. They both tend to make references to things without really explaining what they're talking about, in a way that may make sense to those of us who follow politics closely but could just confuse people who don't.

  22. President Hollingsworth gives a speech after the death of Hamilton Fellow Countrymen, Our nation emerged from the conflagration of revolution just 17 short years ago. Our form of government has stood for only a decade. As I enter office as your third President, I seek to lead a nation which cannot afford to devolve into rule by bullet rather than by ballot. I should hope to amend the fractures between North and South, Republican and Federalist. Our duty as Americans is to prove our model of government the finest on earth seen since the days of Athens and the Roman Senate. Our duty is

  27. Hi everyone, first time I'm posting in the general forum. I am less optimistic for Trump than I was a week ago. My election prediction method is simple- I take the polling average for every state on 538 and give Trump a 2% handicap to account for polling bias. Even with that advantage, he loses 279-259, though it would be extremely close in Pennsylvania. So, my current prediction is that Biden wins on a very small margin, but Trump still has a real chance of victory with a small improvement in Pennsylvania. It could get ugly if PA is the tipping point and it ends up being really close the

  28. "Keep your comments fact-oriented and if you want to attack, attack an idea, not a user." Keep in mind there are people from various political backgrounds here. The great advantage of a place like this is you get something unusual - many smart, well-informed people from different political backgrounds discussing and analyzing topics. But that comes with a risk - people with politically divergent views often don't have similar values, and can not get along very well. So keep comments focused on facts. If you want to attack, attack an idea, not a user.

No. Ever been to Arizona? No. Ideal place to live? Portland, Maine, and I plan on moving there after I finish my education Did you vote?(I don't care who you voted for. I'm asking if you voted ) No. Joe Biden isn't worth committing voter fraud over . Preference: Cake or pie? Cake. Especially Ice-Cream-Cake, I have one for my birthday every year.

Calling him immature and unaccountable is a personal attack in itself, you said he "cries to the admin", earlier today, another personal attack, you frequently use "_______ _____" and stuff in place of insults when we all know what you're trying to say. You say vcczar constantly cries to the admin and doesn't act like an adult when it is you who is doing it. This is one page (of 23) of your post history. 35. Agreed. I happen to disagree with @PoliticalPundit's analysis, but he's been much more civil than @Patine has been lately. You've got to calm down, man. The personal attacks left and right have got to stop. Look at how @vcczar responded - pointed out a perceived flaw in reasoning and politely explained why he finds that to be an important part of the argument. It's very civil, even though you can tell that @vcczar and @PoliticalPundit are disagreeing. V clearly states he disagrees with the assessment, in fact. 36. I actually do understand that you’re trying to make a rational argument here, and I appreciate that as it’s a rarity on the internet. But a few things to clarify, as an Iraq War Veteran myself. 1) “The VA” is actually something like 480 different hospitals across the country. Some of them are, indeed, poorly run. The one in Phoenix made national news a couple years ago for being shockingly bad. But most of them are outstanding. In Michigan, for example, the civilian hospitals got immediately overrun with COVID and it was the VA hospitals there who stepped up to save the day by “activ

Everyone has the right to their own beliefs and to post them in a free and open manner, including in this forum. That includes the admin, regardless of political view. People can jibe each other, whatever. I admit that I do it as well. But I never will make a personal attack on someone else's intellect, and I thought everyone on this forum was better than that. I learned that I was wrong. I have been on this forum since 2018, and I have never been treated worse than the way I was treated today. It hurts me

There’s only so much you can say about the game — I’d check in maybe once a year to see if there was an update, instead of multiple times a day to see if there’s an interesting discussion.

Here's where the national polling average was at 84 days out.
