  1. Admin needs to focus on his games more than anything. I could care less about what he says on here. I have bought his games because they have much potential to be explored. This genre of gaming has its niche, so It shouldn't be hard to please it.

  2. @admin_270, @The Blood both made professional, courteous, apologies where they didn't blame anyone for what they said or did. I'm glad this was the conclusion to this. Hopefully everyone involved has learned something for this, I know I have. Everyone on this forum is a wonderful person who contributes to the unique culture we have here in their own way. I usually despise talking about politics with people, but with you guys I can do it all day. From @vcczar's leadership, insight, polls, and all-around contribution to @Patine's wittiness, excessive usage of adjectives, and his intelligenc

  3. I don't know how to articulate my points better than to say them outside of a vote. Everyone has the right to their own beliefs and to post them in a free and open manner, including in this forum. That includes the admin, regardless of political view. People can jibe each other, whatever. I admit that I do it as well. But I never will make a personal attack on someone else's intellect, and I thought everyone on this forum was better than that. I learned that I was wrong. I have been on this forum since 2018, and I have never been treated worse than the way I was treated today. It hurts me

  4. After last night, I think it would be nice for everyone to get to know everyone a little better. Share some things you're fond of doing outside the forum with the forum I have been an avid MMO player for a while now, and that mostly comes in the form of a (former) child's game called Wizard101. Ive played for 8 years now, and have finally beat the game for the first time I also enjoy reading, I love Game of Thrones (Tully/Tyrell are my favorites), Lord of the Rings, and more. I like to write, whether it be fantasy or RP. Outside of that, I play trombone in our marching and

  6. I'm a university student! I'm trying to become a history teacher or a government teacher Current history classes I am in are the Vietnam War and in Oct I'll be taking East Asian History. I like to read a lot. I have a bookshelf overflowing with books. I play video games, not too often tho especially since I've been focusing on university. Final Fantasy is one of my favourites, especially VII and XV. I make scenarios for PI, PMI,CI. If you ever have any scenario ideas, share them with me and we can make them a reality I listen to all sorts of music, especially soundtrack

  8. I enjoy making scenarios frankly. Hence why I got the games originally. I love playing the scenarios afterwards too. I've also learned a lot in scenario making since my first scenario. Y'all should see the wackiness of a scenario I'm making these days But enough scenario talk from me, Expanding to include more electoral options is a dream! I'm tired of FPTP and preferences We need electoral reform! PR and MMP! Heck it'll just make me want to make even more scenarios for all of you guys!

  9. Absolutely, I haven't played the game since 2017-2018 and don't really have any reason or desire to at all anymore. I'm here for the great folks, discussion, and RPs that we do as a community. I love this community, the game and its admin are just an unfortunate side piece of our community. As far as I'm concerned, 270soft forum is for a great community, not a subpar game.

  10. FEDERALIST CONVENTION 1800 Federalists gathered in New York City to choose their delegates as President and Vice President of the United States. Early convention favorites were Alexander Hamilton, the star of the party, and John Trumbull Jr., Governor of Connecticut. Major issues to be hammered out among the party was how far to go on slavery, as well as how much to position themselves away from the legacy of President Adams. Trumbull and Hamilton both seemed well positioned to strike the middle line on both issues. However, some radical elements of the party gathered their strength and r

  11. I am studying at university full-time, by taking courses mainly in history, politics and East Asian studies. I love watching sports and good movies (especially Lord of the Rings and Star Wars), playing video games and collecting various things. Currently I am buying (old) NFL and NBA cards the most. Besides that I like trains, playing chess and reading about the Supreme Court. These are basically the most vibrant of my hobbies. I hardly find a field not interesting as you can see on my full chart on the left... I didn't even mention the NASA, mathematics or (classical) music.

  14. Of course. I deeply enjoy this forum and many of the people on it. Despite this, I haven't been very active in the political discussion here for a reason, and it's because many of the posts here have been invaded with constant arguing. However, this problem does not characterize the entire forum, and many of the individuals on here are fun, intelligent, and great people. I am sorry for making such a blanket statement, and I should have worded the question in a far better way. It goes without saying that this forum is not an toxic site, though I stand by my belief that there is a pr

  19. He should stick to making and developing his games. I think I clearly see why a lot of badly needed features (like non-FPTP electoral systems for PMI and CI, among others) are always on the backburner with ETA, and we focuses on suggestions of minor details and tweaks more enthusiastically. It's obvious where his time is going.

  21. I feel like @admin_270 doesn't really mindlessly support Trump so much as he plays the Devil's Advocate on a highly left-leaning forum. And I appreciate that he allows us to have these discussions on what is literally HIS forum (Though they usually don't get this heated). If he was really an extremist he would have outlawed all opposing views. Though his name-calling regarding financial literacy was somewhat uncalled for, and as someone who was helped two dozen people from my high school set up their own individual brokerage accounts, Roth IRAs and investing shit in general I felt like that w

  24. First of all my absolute favorite past-time is my collection of nearly 400 cigars in my dedicated cigar/whiskey cabinet. Though I hesitate to call it a 'collection' because that implies that i'm saving them forever, when I really plan on smoking every last one of them. I was really into pipes for three months (coinciding with me reading the Sherlock Holmes short stories), but came back to cigars like I always do. Besides that I enjoy chess (though i'm nowhere near as good as I was when I played everyday, around 2000 rating), investing in stocks (i'm long Tesla, Amazon, Google, Silver, and

  25. Honestly, despite normally being an election junkie, I would probably be entirely unaware the election is barely a month away if it wasn’t for @vcczar’s daily countdown polls. Covid has overshadowed the election to the point that I’d imagine most folks aren’t even aware the debate is tomorrow.

  26. When the discussion is not opinion-based and is fact-based, then I think I generally am more correct than not. I think most people tend not to get in fact-based arguments unless they have facts that support what they are saying. There's also assumptions on facts that are not yet fully revealed, which leads the fact-argument to become more opinion-based. Those are hybrid arguments, which I think compose most discussion on this board.

  27. As Actinguy points out, I would also like to say lately, I've seen more and more Biden signs in this southwest rural corner of Iowa than I've ever seen for Democratic candidates. They're still outnumbered, but are gradually closing that gap.

  28. Depends on the victory. If it's similar to 2016, the protests will be similar to 2016. If we see something where the Supreme Court decides something, or a tie, or an example where a critical state's margin of victory is less than the number of rejected ballots, a situation where the Democrats feel the election has been stolen from them, it will be worse.

  34. Fuck it. I wanted this poll to be a reflection on the way we treat each other on this forum. I have seen so many vitriolic debates, arguments, and personal attacks that I wanted to have us and Admin look at the ways we collectively guide the conversation here. I can criticize Admin's actions on this site until my last breath, but this poll is appearing to have been the wrong way to do it. Instead of awakening a collective discussion around this forum, all this poll has done is create more division and confusion. I did not intend to attack the very character of this forum. There are

  35. Look guys, if people are going to be making posts attacking Trump, polls attacking Trump, and so on, they can't cry 'not fair' when someone pushes back. Especially when it's, say, 5-1 against, which is the typical ratio here. And especially when they consistently lose the factual arguments.

For that same reason, I don’t think he spends and unjustified time inflaming the forum. I think he belittles people and gets in bad faith arguments, etc. However, I think he hasn’t violated anything that should cause censure or anything. I just wish he’d see where most of his 270 Soft fans on this forum are coming from. He’s so caught in his own opinions that he doesn’t seem to understand or want to unde

Otherwise, why should he be 'punished'? If it's all legal, then I would congratulate the man for avoiding unnecessarily paying taxes.
