  1. I've filled in my spreadsheet for elections from 1960 to the present (had gone back only to 2000). Here's how long it took to realign: 1948 *REALIGNMENT IS BEGINNING*: Alabama begins to protest against the Democratic Party by voting 3rd party rather than supporting Truman or Wilkie. All other offices are won by Democrats. 1960: Alabama once again supports a protest candidate over either the Democratic Party or the GOP. Anti-Catholicism may have played a role in the state not supporting JFK. All other offices are won by Democrats. 1962: Democratic incumbent Senator Lis

  2. This is why I stocked up on guns and ammo long ago. Because if this happens (and it's clear to anyone with a 3 digit IQ that it was rigged by Trump's campaign) there's either going to be a civil war, or riots in every city in America, and I need to protect myself and my family either way. And if there was a big, armed movement to overthrow the government I would seriously consider joining it (though that's also because I'm a Jeffersonian Libertarian lol). But 95% chance Trump loses and I sit on the couch, shrug, and don't give a shit because the president himself doesn't really have that

  6. How do you think Trump and the public responds if this happens on election day. You are watching the news: First, you learn that pundits are nearly unified in believing that Biden will defeat Trump with about 350 EVs. And 52% of the PV. Secondly, rumors of riots at polling stations are occur on Election day, mostly in battleground states, preventing several people from getting to vote. Police shut down many polling stations to keep the peace. It is reported that 100% of these polling stations are in heavily Democratic areas. Third news comes in that, Trump and the GOP

  8. This ad man.... Made me tear up. And I'm a foreigner. Now Imagine, being 18 years old. Working your ass off volunteering and donating to help Bernie. And he loses to a right winger. And then said right winger spits on your face whenever given the opportunity and says he has no empathy for young people. I'd be depressed. Lol.

  10. It would probably be better to just not say anything that makes it sound like you live here. You sort of have the luxury to desire us to have appalling judges and candidates while not having to live under their rule. What if it were 1938 and an American said, "The only thing I'm worried about is that Wilhelm Miklas won't accept Anschluss." ? A better phrasing would be. "If I lived in America I'd be concerned with her position on the death penalty." Your statement would be alright unchanged if you had plans to live here sometime soon. This is a pet peeve of mine. It also bothers me wh

  11. I’m literally not. I’m saying those people already were going to vote for him. I think we’re talking past each other here. I’m saying it’s not like he was pushed to the left. He just ran with the left like he would have done anyway. He didn’t flip flop to the left on any issue because he was already there. “Courting” means you’re trying to win the left over, often by moving to the left on certain issues. All Markey did was run as the leftist he is in order to increase turnout. I wouldn’t classify that as courting, perhaps we just have different definitions?

  12. You are correct in that I should say that I don't think he's going to lose, so it doesn't matter. I'm about 90% sure Biden is going to win. (I was 60% about a month ago). I don't think Trump has time to turn this around. People are already voting. I think people have made up their mind on Trump. I don't think Trump wins without voter suppression (cancelling mail-in ballots primarily to reduce votes rather than for security reasons or shenanigans at polling stations in heavily Democratic areas or Russians). Could more campaigning hurt Biden? It's possible. In this sense, let Trump set him

  20. I'm honestly not sure if Biden will survive a full four years as President. He's gonna be 78 when he becomes President, and he's clearly in the early throes of dementia. While dementia patients have varying symptoms and responses to stimuli, one pretty universal thing between them all is that they can't really respond to stress or confusion well, and if extreme enough, this actually speeds up the dementia process. I'm not sure Biden can handle that every single day (Biden got significantly more dementia-like symptoms after serving as Vice President), whereas Trump, the businessman, is certainl

  40. You do understand that Kennedy was the corporate centrist in that race right? Markey was a progressive before Joe Kennedy primaried him and won because Kennedy didn't have any tangible policy proposals for the people of the Bay State, he just thought he should win because he had the last name that seems to buy a seat in the US Senate from Massachusetts. Markey isn't pushing hard for progressive policies because of Kennedy, he's pushing for them despite Kennedy.
