You mean Senate Minority Leader; right?

So @Hestia11 should make the ranking member picks after all?

Yeah. Sorry.

Not a Senator, Budget Ranking Member needs to be a House Rep

Postmaster General-James Monroe (JR-VA)

Sweet. This has my stamp of approval and yours, so you should just need two more players one of which must be Reagan.

Monroe is postmaster general now, I'm pretty sure he can't serve both? Unless nothing bars that.

The Senate ensures a swift confirmation of the President's appointees out of goodwill for Washington, behind the scenes, however, rumors brew that Rufus King is not pleased with Washington's appetite for bipartisanship.

Robert Morris is a US Senator. His selection creates a vacancy. You sure you want this vacancy? If so, FGov needs to fill the spot.

Good point. Do you want him as PM or in the House?

Another good point. I'll appoint Clymer to his seat.

Fair point.  And if this is supposed to be a house member, then it would be up to me as House Minority Leader, right @Herbert Hoover/ @vcczar?

Sorry for all the questions on it, just wrapping my head around it.

If it is indeed up to me, I’ll select Rep. Aaron Burr as Ranking Member of Budget.

Senator Gilman sees the wisdom in President Washington’s bipartisanship, and helps usher in aye votes from the Moderate Democrat Republicans he’s allied himself with.  Country before party!

Secretary Gallatin names his picks to serve as our nation's first ambassadors.  Following President Washington's lead, he selects the most qualified, bipartisan group he can find.

AMBASSADOR TO BRITAIN:  @Herbert Hoover John Jay (8)

AMBASSADOR TO FRANCE: @WVProgressive Benjamin Franklin (7)

AMBASSADOR TO SPAIN: @Conservative Elector 2 Oliver Ellsworth (6)

AMBASSADOR TO PRUSSIA: Robert Livingston (5)

AMBASSADOR TO RUSSIA: @Hestia11 James Linn (5)

Two questions to @vcczar

For ambassadors, does that count towards Jay's two term limit?

If not, would be be unable to serve as ambassador again?

The ambassadors don’t count as cabinet.

Whoops, oversight on my part.  Of course, @Herbert Hoover John Jay is welcome to accept the ambassadorship.  But if he'd rather stay as Governor, then I'll shift everyone up a slot.

AMBASSADOR TO BRITAIN:  @WVProgressive Benjamin Franklin (7)

AMBASSADOR TO FRANCE: @Conservative Elector 2 Oliver Ellsworth (6)

AMBASSADOR TO SPAIN: Robert Livingston (5)

AMBASSADOR TO PRUSSIA: @Hestia11 James Linn (5)

AMBASSADOR TO RUSSIA: @Reagan04 Francis Dana (5)

Let's just do that and make it easier. John Jay is just one man, moving him around too much would surely stress him out!

Great! Next on the agenda is for @SilentLiberty to declare his inaugural goals. Two of these must be domestic and two foreign (look to the rules for some examples)

In the meantime, I'm going to go ahead and do some dice rolling. In the future, I'll RP these more but for this first term I'll state it all explicitly so it's not confusing.

The first is for the random death. We just take the total number of statesman and roll a dice of that number, so 242. The statesman on the spot in the sheet dies, and if it's on a row on the statesman sheet with a player name or something not a statesman than no one dies.

The number I got was 114, which is Senator Philip Schuyler. Philip Schulyer is now dead and removed from the game. The Focus Governor, myself, will need to appoint a new New York Senator, so it's really great I didn't have Jay join the cabinet! I will appoint Nicholas Fish @Conservative Elector 2 to fill the vacancy.

In the next post I'll roll for Scripted Executive Events, which are new.

Do we need to appoint Generals, or is that later?

So, for scripted executive events we look at every potential executive event that our election year is within that we meet all of the requirements for. For each of these, we roll a 6 sided die to see if they are activated. A 5-6 is required. If so, the President must respond to them.

The only three available are the Quaker Petition to Abolish Slavery, Jay Treaty, Pinckney Treaty, and the French Revolution. The rolls, respectively, are... 4, 5, 4, and 1! This means that President Washington @SilentLiberty can attempt to resolve the Jay Treaty when he has declared his inaugural goals.

Next we are rolling for General Events, which are random events that can happen which can break up the pace of the game a little and can be quite unexpected. Some make point impacts doubled, some affect statesmen's ability, and some affect certain meters.
