Agreed. Does Canada have any such issues?

Very much so. Our Constitutional system needs just as much reform and revamping as the U.S. one - it just has different crippling flaws that make it an electoral and political fossil and dinosaur that should be updated to the modern day. Also, big corporate donors and wealthy special interest groups, though not having the unchecked power to corrupt and control government they do in the U.S., are still too powerful at the end of the day. I also believe that neither the Republican/Canadian Conservative "Neo-Nativist" ideal or the Democratic/Canadian Liberal/NDP "open arms" ideal of immigration are workable - there needs to be a practical middle ground. Plus, Canadian Indigenous Peoples are like African-Americans in the U.S. in a terms of a long history of prejudice, unfair laws, police abuses, abysmal living conditions, etc. that is only recently being seriously addressed. Indigenous women have a higher murder/disappearance rate by far than any other Canadian demographic. Given my girlfriend of 15 years is Treaty Cree, it's become something close to me. I also believe State and Provincial "Rights," respectively, have become a HUGE albatross and impediment to actual NECESSARY governance and programs and deliberately promotes inequity - for no appreciable long-term or large-scale gain. Canadian Federal government member and Parliamentarians are also able, de fact, when push comes to shove, to use their office alone to ignore all criminal charges and civil torts, even well-founded ones, the same way their American counterparts - something that just burns up my sense of justice.

Interesting. Does Canada get more immigrants per capita than the US?

It has a higher cap on intake, as a rule. But I think the U.S. cap, or quota, gets filled up faster, so the math would be situational.

Even if he were innocent, he has failed to enact policies that I prefer, that being innocent would not change my opinion of him)

Im sort of surprised, given your background in academia, that one of the issues is the rising cost of college tuition. Granted, I haven't really seen any of the major candidates(aside from Warren and Sanders) talk in depth on this issue.

Who actually runs that pollster? I had always thought they were, or at least originally started as, an aggregator of religious beliefs and opinions through polling.

I'm not sure. I first heard of them as a religious belief poll, but they do much more than that now.
