This is the closest I've ever seen California:

Tommy Thompson ® vs Barbara Boxer (D) vs Michael Badnarik (L) vs Jim Gilchrist (CST)

untitled45rm.png

A difference of about .0044%

Nation-wide Thompson crushed Boxer 50%-45%, Gilchrist got 3% and Badnarik got over 1%.

how did boxer only win by that much? it's her home state.

I've had some close ones as well (4 in 80soft's 2004 Scenario). Here they are...

(I'm Kerry!)

Arkansas

Bush: 49.0% (577,579)

Kerry: 50.9% (600,310)

Arizona

Bush: 49.7% (1,124,810)

Kerry: 50.2% (1,136,109)

New Mexico

Bush: 50.1% (402,397)

Kerry: 49.8% (399,881)

Iowa

Bush: 49.7% (641,154)

Kerry: 50.2% (647,631)

The Whole U.S.

Bush: 238 EVs

Kerry: 300 EVs

I've lost four states all by around 1% one time around, so it's possible, I suppose...it's also incredibly frustrating.

I don't have enough know-how on the electoral trends to figure out how to set that up...so anyone one who does...GET ON IT AND POST RESULTS!

It's been ages now since this, but if anyone's interested from observing behaviour in un-contested areas in PM4E, the winner will be whoever's listed first.
