I fear for Americas future as a free country

Recommended Posts

So 43% of probably less than 40% of the population makes you fear America's future? If you read the article it said that 43% said that the President should have the authority to close down news outlets engaged in bad behavior. When asked if he should shut down specific left-wing outlets like CNN, Washington Post, etc. only 23% agreed, and given how polarizing politics are today, that is really low and surprising.

The title is clickbait and if anything proves Trump's point about how fake the media is.

"Bad behavior" in the context of the poll pretty clearly meant going against Trump.

Again, the term is too vague to signify anything significant like that and is basically the media trying to swerve voters into choosing one option without actually saying what the option is. No shit people are going to be against "bad behavior" lmao. Fake news.

How do people assume it to be anything but Trump considering he was mentioned?

It didn't mention the bad behavior was against Trump. In fact, it didn't even mention Trump until the second question. America's entire political system is based on checks and balances and civil liberties. Everything will be alright. (And I'm prepping for an economic collapse, so I should be more cynical than anybody lmao). Fake news.

If not Trump what explains the Partisan divide in the first question?

"Fake news" is a political buzz word to justify silencing freedom of the press. I believe in Lenin and Stalin's day, they called it "counterrevolutionary publication." In Hitler's day, it was "seditious publishing and commentary to the Fatherland." Mussolini called it "irresponsible journalism." Mao called it "anharmonious writings." Khomeni called it "blasphemous libel." In North Korea, it's called "disloyal and Western-corrupted poisoning of Korean minds." Regardless of the label used, it amounts to a label used to classify and silence the press whenever the arrogant, thin-skinned, egotistical, cult-mentality, but highly insecure leader doesn't like what they're saying.

I'll say this, I agree that CNN and NYT have proven themselves propagandists and enemies of the American people, but it is our job to fight them with truth, not try to silence them. They have the right to lie to Americans, let them. We shall speak the truth, and in the end, the truth shall prevail.

Fox News and Breitbart News are at least as bad, if not worse. Their lies are even more bold and blatant and insulting to the intelligence, and they don't even try as hard to hide them or make them sound true to someone with any education on the issue, the editorial bias dehumanizes whole demographics (especially foreign ones) in the most cavalier and off-handed ways. Plus several of the people behind Breitbart (not all of them, but several) are known Neo-Nazis and Alt-Right figures, and some of the Fox pundits have long histories of vile lies. But, as it stands, unfortunately for those consuming media, CNN, NYT, Fox News, AND Breitbart News are all currently protected by U.S. Constitutional freedom of the press. It's unfortunate, but we'll all have to make due, somehow, and hopefully some arrogant, thin-skinned, insecure administration DOESN'T successfully get a violation of a pillar freedom of the United States successfully off the ground. I, myself, prefer, CBC Newsworld and Southam News, which are Canadian news outlets, for my own core needs, due I do consult many other media sources in many countries to get a more balanced view of things.

Breitbart had an article blaming the decline in Japan's population on porn if that tells you anything about its professionalism @Reagan04.

I completely agree Breitbart is utter garbage in the tier even lower than CNN and NYT, of the least biased I think is Fox. Breitbart blatantly shares its bias proudly, CNN and NYT attempt to hide it but have been busted as acknowledging and supporting it in private and it's rather obvious in their coverage, as with all of MSM. Fox has a bias, but it is certainly the least amount when looking at objective statistics and reports about coverage numbers and so on.

But do you agree with my statement that the 1st Amendment, for better or for worse, protects them all equally and any administration that tried to rope in freedom of the press for any arbitrary reason like being discussed and regardless of which media outlets or political biases of media were targeted such would be an attack, by nature, on the rights of ALL Americans and the U.S. Constitution?

Oh 100% and completely. Like I said, they have the right to spew lies, let them. We will beat them back with truth, just as our right is to as well.

Fox News isn't the least biased. They don't even report a lot of the negative stuff that Trump says or does. CNN at least reports negative stuff that even Democrats say. However, both CNN and Fox News are too biased. Here's a chart that was made recently. Fox News is a little hard to see, but it's low down on the "fact reporting" side just like Fox.

You mean "sharp biased news." "Fake news" is just a political buzzword used for partisan-based attacks on any journalism found annoying or inconveniently insightful. Keep the difference in mind, and keep your terminology concise.

Infowars is unironically one of the most reputable sources in the news. The fact that it is being censored is horrid.
