Spare us the pain of the Return of the Evil Mr. Rogers (Santorum), please. Also, what about the Libertarian and Constitution parties? I heard they had plans to field candidates this in the gubernatorial race this year, though I'm not sure who (and am not familiar with their state affiliate party hopefuls).

"RAN," as in past tense. I thought all U.S. elections in a given year, other than special elections (which are basically exactly the same thing as what are called by-elections in Canada and the UK) are always all on the first Monday of the November of that year, regardless of state or level of governance.

Is there also some tie-in as to why Bill Cosby and Rick Santorum both often wore the same ridiculous red cardigans?

Actually now that I think about it I think it's some kind of a same personality style type self imaging
