Dawn Of 1800

John Adams is in crisis, America and France are in a state of semi-war and though this and his signing of the Alien and Sedition acts pleases the more radical elements of his party, Hamilton is livid with Adams attempts to secure peace with France, but the presidents problems don't stop there, the Alien and Sedition acts is hugely unpopular at home and the opposition is led by Adams own Vice-President Thomas Jefferson. Hamilton and other High-Federalists are considering opposing Adams re-election, and to make matters worse George Washington is being pressured to run being seen by some as the only man who can prevent a republican takeover of government, but Jefferson is not without inter-party challengers as conservatives are running there own ticket, and even Aaron Burr Jefferson's vice-presidential candidate seems to be trying to move up on the ticket. In a time of such trouble who can lead he nation to both security and a brighter future?

State of the campaign Jan 1st - Jan 13th

A lot has happened over the past two weeks. For starters French pirates have fired on U.S merchant ships in Haiti which prompted Alexander Hamilton to give a speech attacking the presidency of John Adams. Speaking of Alexander Hamilton, it's official, on January 3rd the Former Secretary of the Treasury announced that he will be challenging the moderate John Adams it is rumored that Gouverneur Morris Senator from Massachusetts will be his Vice-Presidential candidate, but he won't be the only intra-party challenger, George Washington, though not officially a Federalist has been making headlines and is considered a front-runner among the candidates, a non-aggression pact between him and Ames seem to point to Ames, a reform minded federalist being Washington's Vice-Presidential candidate. In domestic news the Alien and Sedition acts are under attack by Republicans again as James Madison speaks out for state sovereignty and Jefferson is rumored to have authored the Kentucky state nullification resolution. Here's the state of the race as of January 13th
