I want to be Arnold Vinick Funny thing is, Bob Allard was the name of the richest man in my home city of Edmonton back in the '80's and '90's (even richer than then-owner of the Edmonton Oilers, Peter Pocklington). We have several buildings (all privately owned) and one main artery street (city owned) named after Bob Allard here.

It's no surprise, I guess.

Also, do you REALLY believe old school land tax that was previously dependent on a large majority of the population being rural landowners to be effective would fund the government services and infrastructure of today? Even the rapid advances in technology alone has jacked up the price tag.

Patine 35 Report post Posted May 19, 2018 Just now, jdm06ltd said: Only the government is rich under socialism. Well, that's not really true. Obviously you're speaking from an uneducated, blanket-viewpoint, propaganda-laden, McCarthyist point-of-view making old Cold War clichéd lines and scripts about a system you don't really understand, especially in it's form in nation like the Scandinavian ones where it actually has been successful.
