Well indeed, the American people have seen the party of solidified obstruction in favor of opposing the education of our children of the foundations of our Great Nation, false attacks that have no ground in reality whatsoever, and opposing the Free Market in favor of large government control, incongruent with American values. It's a shame to see a Party that champions Liberalism fall to Socialism and such government largesse. We thought we might find compromise, it appears we were wrong, we found only obstruction.

We'll see you at election time to see what the American people really think, but Conservatives ought to be ashamed of themselves for falling into such parroting attacks on a party that stands for America's teachers and workers. The Conservatives want to indoctrinate our children into their standards, and not let them be freely educated by an independent body, a body that we proposed. To be clear, we propose an Education Board if this is really to work, of 3 Conservatives, 3 Liberals, and 3 Socialists to make sure that it is a fair system and not one that is bias towards one political party, like the Conservatives want it to be.

The Socialist Labor Party also endorse the idea of a tri-partisan Education Board.

1) Here is the deal. The Free Market is not free unless there is competition! We have authored the Rodgers Anti-Trust Act of 1913 and are prepared to send it to Congress. The Rodgers Act makes monopolization and anti-Free Market unilateral movements to destroy competition illegal and allows the Attorney General to prosecute such a crime before the Supreme Court. If and when this law is passed I will order a fullscale investigation through the joint effort of our economic advisors in the Department of Treasury and our legal advisors in the Department of Justice into whether or not Basic Oil would break the "rule of reason" doctrine. I wish to go down in history as a President who stood for the Free Market. The Government has very little to do with the economy, but in that small window is facilitating competition and giving people like Basic Oil a reason to make their product available and cheap enough for people to buy Oil. Once this has been sent through Congress and the investigation completed, we will press charges, or not. (IRL, they did and the government won) Oil, I believe can be a match to relight our economic boom, but we cannot allow ourselves to put all of our industrial eggs into one trust basket, we cannot allow one misstep to quench the fire in our economy. This administration is for true, unbridled, and unregulated Free Market Capitalism, and we will always stand against Crony Capitalism, a bastardization of our founding economic structure.

The Rodgers Anti-Trust Act of 1913 passes almost unanimously. The Government commits an investigation of Basic Oil, and determines that it is indeed a monopoly that needs to be broken up.

However, the breakup of the Basic Oil monopoly has led to a minor stock panic in the oil market due to unprepared investors. This stock panic may not affect the economy in general, but it will hurt the automobile industry, which will hurt our economy. The panic should end fast, but the budget may feel the effects of a loss of revenue.

2) The case of St. Pierre and Miquelon is easy, that is to be most certainly a military base, it is in no way a tourist attraction and will be a valuable asset in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. French Polynesia however, should become a territory of the United States, to be renamed American Polynesia and as there are many islands, military bases will be built intermittently while some of the scenic beaches might prove to be tourist spots for the mega-rich to add to our coffers in the coming years, something to mull over for certain. But our primary focus should be the military aspect of this as well as formalizing American Polynesia. Secondly, we would like to set up a conference with the new Government of France to negotiate favorable Trade deals and better relations with the newly reformed nation which we greatly assisted in its quest for regaining itself.

The building of a base at St. Pierre and Miquelon has run into some serious financial trouble, especially after a ship with many materials sank off the shore of Canada. This won't need action, however the budget will take a hit.

Additionally, we have also had trouble with building in French Polynesia. Another materials ship sank, but our budget will cover the additional expenses.

Resulting from our troubles in French Polynesia, our ability to formalize the territory is obstructed until next term.

The new French Government wishes to organize itself before formally negotiating with the United States regarding trade. This will begin next term.

Four bad rolls in a row... Ouch.

3) It would be unconstitutional for the Federal Government to institute a Minimum Wage or anything of that nature, and it would be severely detrimental to all people. That being said, I do greatly identify with the plight of the employer and employee, we must recognize and acknowledge the right of the employer and employee to bargain for wages, this is a part of the competition of the Job Market. But I believe that this highlights an important piece of data, wages grew rapidly, and yes, business profit grew astronomically, rapid wage growth is a good thing, and it's spin to suggest that people making more money should be mad because another guy is making more money, but faster. This White House is about growth, growth for all people, I know my Laisezz-Faire strategy is working when I hear that wages are growing and that the economy is more prosperous than ever before. That being, I would like to propose the Stable Wage Growth Act of 1913, it will grant tax credits to any company which pledges to, and upholds, a plan to continually increase wages as long as that company's profits have been growing accordingly. This is the best way to incentivize faster wage growth, the government should have no more than a mild touch.

The Stable Wage Growth Act of 1913 passes with a grand majority. The measure is popular with the workers, but the Government's inefficient setup of giving out the tax credits leads businesses to feel a little annoyed.

4) I stand firmly against this idea, an Income Tax is not something that should be considered, it is little more than highway robbery, our current taxation is reconcilable with growth and government expenditures and I see no need to expand the constitutional authority of Big Government into taking more money away from Americans.

This denial of an income tax has created protests around the Whitehouse. Crowds are drawing in thousands upon thousands of people.

Quote

5) Absolutely not, Article I Section 8 states that the Congress and U.S. Government shall only have the ability to print money and determine our currency. I will not allow a private entity to hold a trust-like monopoly and superiority to other banks and hold our own government hostage with our own currency. I stand against a Central Bank, especially a private one.

This issue has kind of just fallen over, and may come back again later.

6) This is in no way, shape, nor form, the business of the Federal Government. I, as a Christian, oppose discrimination, but this government has not the power to force a business owner to engage in a contract with a person with whom he does not want to engage. This is a Constitutional Right as I see in under the 1st Amendment's Right to Association. As such, this government will reaffirm the right to association and thereby disassociation under the Constitution in the field of service.

This stirred chills across America, as the American People believe the President did the absolute wrong thing to do, especially in a nation where diversity is prevalent. Blatant discrimination is apparently a policy of the Conservative Party.

Quote

7) Absolutely, we must shift all military effort we used in trading arms with the French rebels, and funnel that to the Mexican Rebels. We will begin to interlink our gigantic, world-class arms industry with our preferred forces in Mexico to push the Communists and Fascists back to the Southeastern portion of the nation and eventually force them to fall back into Latin America. After that, we will perform the same influence over France in Mexico. Our plan is for widescale American influence and I believe an opened market with Mexico will greatly benefit not only the West but the entire nation. As for French Communists, we should attempt to prevent them from emboldening the Mexican Communists in any way possible via interception. They are fighting for an enemy.

American arms have now begun being shipped to the Republican/Monarchist rebels in Mexico.

A portion of our navy is now in the Gulf of Mexico regulating east-coast ships going to port in Mexico.

8)We have crafted the Immigrant Values and Assimilation Act of 1914. This Act imposes one simple test: The Values and Assimilation Test. This test includes two major Parts. Part 1 is the Values portion; requiring them to pass a simple ideology test consisting of two major factors for acceptable ideology in the American Mainstream. First being that they vow to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and can properly identify why it is important, nothing too extremely major, the test taking is for citizenship later, but an immigrant should be able to recognize the importance of the Constitution. The second section of Part 1 of this test has them screened for possible activities and beliefs related to one of the four radical ideologies which have caused trouble for America in the past: Communism, Anarchism, Socialism, and Fascism. Part 2 is the Assimilation portion, this will assess the ability of the immigrant to assimilate into American culture as well as willingness to learn English, Immigrants will be enrolled in English and Civics classes requisite for Citizenship and full Assimilation. The IVAA of 1914 is here to defend American values and protect the American way of life from those who would seek to destroy it and I hope it receives much support in Congress.

The American Public leans in support of this bill in a non-partisan poll taken in New York and released by the NY Time newspaper. The bill successfully passes the Senate, and skims by in the House with a few dissenting moderates from the Liberals/Progress. This was literally the only positive thing to happen to your administration, and I assume it will be signed.

The only positive rolls in this whole post were all three for this bill, so it does pass.

9) First thing is first, we submit the International Shipping Privatization Act of 1914 to Congress which denationalizes the shipping industry.  In the way of regulations, the ISPA will include a clause that requires the now private industry to comply with the Trade Deals made by the United States Government. This is to ensure the enforcement of American global economic interests and to ensure a unified movement towards a Freer Market.

This bill fails in Congress, as the Liberals successfully painted the legislation as a wild bill that would destroy accountability, regardless that the law had Government oversight included.

10) Most of my extra agenda was implemented in my first term, there is, however, one last thing I'd like to accomplish seeing the mandate I received in the last election. It is my goal to pass the Educational Values Act of 1914. Unlike DAVAPRIA, this takes a tempered and more constitutionally clear approach to defending our values. This act would give grants to schools that allow student-led prayer, teach children about the Bill of Rights and enforce our Capitalist society as well as discuss why Fascism, Socialism, Anarchism, Communism, and Secular Humanism are diametrically opposed with the American way of being. The new bill is much more compatible with the private American education system and is a strong way for the government to assist the private effort to keep our future bright and shining as an example of a new American generation.

This bill is a disaster in Congress, especially when a third of Conservatives vote against the measure. The Education Debate of 1914 led to an eerie environment in Congress, and people who supported the bill failed to defend it after the President separated morality from political gain. The American People got a Newspaper version of the debate, which alienated the President as a pro-indoctrinater. A popular cartoon is the President spanking children with Liberal-themed clothing with a stick that says Conservative Values.

RP Note: I have never in my life seen 12 negative/neutral rolls in a row in my entire time leading ANY simulation or roleplay.

For this to really hit home to you all: by a generous % cutoff, this only had a ~.22% chance of happening. That is basically a one in five hundred chance of happening.

Midterms

Congress

Liberal 55% Senate 55% US Rep

Conservatives 40% Senate 30% US Rep

Socialists 5% Senate 15% US Rep

Liberals secure a majority of the U.S Senate, and a supermajority of the U.S. House with a Socialist coalition. Socialists gain their first Senate win in Illinois (5% is exaggerating it, but once Alaska and Hawaii become States this number will end up being more realistic), and Conservatives take an enormous hit after a horrific two year period by President Rodgers.

In order to come back from these, we have no choice but to take the fight to the Liberals who politicized these measures beyond all beliefs. Both of these measures were not political battles, one was an economic fight about the future of Liberty and the Responsible Free Market. The second was even less political and merely a measure to educate our children about the American way. There would be no indoctrination against Liberalism and for Conservatism, rather only an education on our political landscape, including a non-biased look at the political parties while detailing the Constitution, our Christian Foundation, and our Capitalist society that has so enriched all Americans while warning against the dangers of our society. In other words, schools that teach of American greatness and wish to educate our children into better and more informed citizens would receive aid and funding from the government.

Probably due to the French Gov being previously communist before the civil war, confused the two.

The bill did pass, but few actions were done to enforce it.

RP Note: Rodger's reputation recovers somewhat, especially among the Conservatives, but his national popularity rating is ~35%, with a 57% disapproval rating.

State of the Union for Election of 1916

President John Rodgers retires from politics at age 71; he cites health and notes that two terms is enough for one man. He believes that Conservatism is still the way to go for all people, to lift up the whole nation. He retires back to Houston home and will certainly be more than happy to be a confidant for any man who holds the office of President, knowing its weight.

Vice President Hillsbury makes it clear to the National Conservative Committee, NCC, that he wishes to be renominated for Vice President; the 47-year-old wishes to remain VP in order to gain more experience.

State Senator Carly Trebuano (C-MI) announces campaign for Michigan's 8th Congressional District; she is 24 and the race is seen as an uphill climb; but she upset her first race for the State Senate and has proven a fiery spirit.

Representative Alec Benson (S-IL) announces intention to unseat the incumbent Conservative Governor in Illinois.

Former Representative Eric V. Dobs(S-MA) formally endorses Benson for Governor, and promises to assist the eventual Socialist Presidential nominee in campaigning under the condition that they have public sympathies for the Italians.

Name and office: Secretary of State Arty J. Talbot

Age: 58

Party: Conservative

Resident state: New York

VP nominee: Vice President Hillsbury @Reagan04

Platform (see State of the Union):

National Strength: It is our duty to get on the top again. During a Talbot administration we will lead the United States to her destiny, to lead the world as it's best and most powerful nation.

Military Strength: As long as we focus on our people without going overseas to fight other countries wars everything is fine here. Make sure our army is always ready to defend our great country.

Foreign Affairs: We will continue to arm the R/M faction. Send them military advisers to end the civil war in front of our doors quickly. This would also reduce the amount of Mexican refugees and immigrants coming to our country. Make sure that the factions hostile to Democracy itself never win ground.

Military: It is fine what our boys are doing down in Mexico, making sure justice and security in order to defend liberty, justice and security. We do not intend to engage in this war directly but it is our duty to defend certain values before the opponents are taking ground and begin threatening our country. Mexico is not Europe. It is our neighbor, bare this in mind.

Economy: We need denationalization, deregulation and tax cuts for our people and their employing industries in order to ensure a booming economy and higher wages.

Trade: Trade is good, trade is important. We will continue to establish good relations with European and third-world countries but not with any radical government. We will not sponsor those ideologies with our quality goods.

Budget: A balanced budget through cut spending was the goal of all Conservative administrations and we intend to keep it that way.

Social Harmony: Unity is an important and if I am elected President I promise to meet with wage-worker and Asians representatives in order to address their needs as well.

Immigration: As the Conservative administration has called for literacy and loyalty tests, we will continue to watch those closely who come to our country. We cannot risk that Communism or Fascism takes a foothold in our nation. We will also make sure that not too much immigrants will enter our country in order to protect job opportunities for our own people first.

Mood of the people: We will improve government, make it more efficient and we will address the needs of all people. It does not matter if you are an employee, an employer or a poor immigrant mum, we will work for you to make your life better.

Party Power: As I often said a strong executive can only deliver good results if he has the backing of the Congress. So I urge you to vote Conservative down-ballot. Let's the Liberals that we are a united force. Go to the voting booths!

Popularity of the Incumbent: President Rodgers was the fresh start we needed and we will continue to improve and expand his policies in order to secure the best living atmosphere for all of our people. Thank you and God bless you!
