Name:  Robert Wentworth

State:  New Hampshire

Political Party: Independent (pro-Constitution, personally opposed to slavery, more friendly to France over Britain, pro-national bank)

Age:  38

Current Profession: Lawyer

Short-term goal: Become a Senator

Long-term goal:   Become Majority/Minority Leader

Background: Robert Wentworth was born to a governing family in New Hampshire, which came along with some prestige. His family had been friendly to Great Britain; but he always viewed them as out of touch oppressors. Before the war, he was educated to be a lawyer, and continues to practice. Robert has an independent streak, and worries the Federalists will lead to too much centralization, whereas the Anti-Federalists will tear the newborn country apart.

It is a shame that we could not get any Anti-Federalist representation in the White House. Although we know little of the political ideology of the President-elect Jefferson Blunt, we hope that he can lead this country with dignity and honor, and consider the political views of not just his allies, but opposition as well, along with Vice-President elect Mr. Lewis.

Well, I truly hope that the new Administration protects Liberty and Freedom. To ensure that they do, I announce my candidacy for the United States Senate from the great state of Virginia.

I am the personal Minister to a majority of the State Assembly,  I am confident of my chances of passing a vote.

**To make your responses to the election results, please quote this entire comment**

The Boston area newspaper crowd around the Beacon Hill home of Mr. Dudley Winthrop for him to comment on the recent election. He is soon ushered out by Gov. Lowell Cabot Lowell, Mr. Trowbridge Dana, and Mr. Wigglesworth Frothingham, all of whom are generally consider to be the handlers of the wealthy but incompetent Mr. Winthrop.

Dana: (Whispering to Winthrop) Tell them you congratulate the victors.

Winthrop: I conglomerate the victors. Good day!

Boston news media: Mr. Winthrop, can you speak more to this?

Dana: (Whispering to Winthrop) Tell them, "no comment," and then let's walk back inside your house.

Winthrop: I shall tell you, sirs. No Comment! Good day!

Boston news media: Mr. Winthrop. Are you unhappy with the results.

Lowell: (Whispering to Winthrop) Let's get back inside.

Winthrop: Unhappy?! Unhappy with what?

Frothingham: (Whispering to Winthrop) Inside, sir.

Boston news media: Judge Blunt is to be our new president.

Winthrop: I don't know what you are talking about. (To Dana) What is this? President? Judge Brump? (To the media) I shall tell you what you what you are to ask me!

Lowell: (Whispering) Sir, please get inside.

Winthrop: You are to ask me.....How was your day! And I shall say, that I just woke up, and I will soon get a crumpet of my own choosing!

[Frothingham and Dana lock arms with Winthrop and attempt to usher him back in]

Winthrop: (still talking to the media) And do not forget, sirs. I am president!

Dana: (to Winthrop) Of your company. (To the media) He is talking of his company, and not of our country.

Frothingham (to the media): Do not tax the energy of Mr. Winthrop. Go find some servant to poke with a stick!

Boston news media: (to Frothingham) Certainly not. We owe our existence to the largess of the Winthrop family. Our apologies.

Frothingham (to the media): Very well. Say that Mr. Winthrop fully supports President-elect Blunt and our new government.

Winthrop (pushing himself back out to address the media) Good day!

[Frothingham, Lowell, and Dana push Winthrop gently into his Beacon Hill house, where they are about to embark on business matters.]

Lewis.

On a further note, I would like to announce my candidacy for the United States Senate, differing from my original plans to run for Governor of South Carolina. It the absolute number one priority to get Anti-Federalist representation in Congress, so we can set forth the future of this country.

Though I did not cast my elector for either man I wish them well in the pursuit to make this country great,to start out on the right foot, and to make us prosperous, and in all hopefulness equal. Now that our election has ended I will like to announce the beginning of my political career to run for a representative seat in our great United States congress.

**To make your responses to the election results, please quote this entire comment**

I would like to congratulate both men for winning the first presidential offices in the history of our wonderful country. Although I did not cast my votes for them as a representative of the Great State and the Great People of North Carolina, I sincerely hope that they will guide our nation successfully through all the difficulties and obstacles we might face. As one nation united under the eyes of God we can become the single greatest nation on earth and we will continue to fight for God's glory. If my assistance is needed I am ready to serve North Carolinians and first and foremost God and all Americans in any capacity I am asked for.

I'd like to say a few words in thanks, for this most humbling of blessings. First thank you, oh so much, for allowing me to lead this country, and I can promise you that with me we will take this country from a small experiment of democracy to a great and glorious future. In order to do that we need unity, and to those upset by these results both Federalists and Ant-Federalists I promise you, I will be a hybrid president taking the best of Federalist ideas and Con-federalist ideas to make this country the best it can be. I've already sent a letter to ambassador Lewis congratulating him on becoming vice president, and figuring out a cabinet that will help us in our quest to make America the best she can be.

(OOC: Speaking of cabinets and the supreme court  @vcczar how do I put one together does it have to be made up of the other characters or something else?)

( @WVProgressive You will have the option of offering positions to the role-played characters, but obviously you would only want to offer them to those that have the right kind of experience or goals. The rest will be NPC's that I'll create, based on whatever state and ideology that you want them to have. I'll control the NPCs. I'll prompt you when it is time to select cabinet members--tomorrow, most likely. You can consult VP-Elect Lewis on these decisions, if you wish)

Samuel Lewis' cabinet:

A man enters in the room

MISTER VICE PRESIDENT! DO YOU HEARD THE NEWS?

The ambassador is right here, the hands on the desk, the eyes widely opened, the mouth closed.

I do.

Then the man added:

Mister Vice President, you have to go to meet the president.

Well...let's announce that we prepare a travel, but first of all, I need to meet the President. @WVProgressive

The President sent a letter to us...let's answer that we want to meet him in a good place, in the duty to check the national policy together.

It's for the moment...time to react.

I want to thank the American electors for their confidence.

I attend to be one of the most influencal Vice President this country will remember.

For this, we need to create bridges between Federalists and Confederalists.

But above all, above all, the first duty of the US is to protect itself from its foreign threats.

We need to improve our alliances in Europe, we need to define our own foreign relationships and we need to know the role that we, the United States, want to lead in America.

I am aware we made the revolution for our lands, and one of my first missions will be to respect our political differences, as also to make the US a strong and stable independent and influent state at the international.

And first of all we could try to keep contacts with some of our old allies such as France, and be prepared to secure our expansion to the West in the years to come.

Me and the President will meet each others in the duty to examinate what to do first. @WVProgressive

I once again thanks the delegates of this country and the American people, God bless us.

A man who works for the Lewis family murmurs at his right ear just some moments after:

Mister Vice President...it seems that the French King Louis the XVI has convocated the people's representatives at Versailles for the month of May.

(Just a correction, but New York City is the capital in 1789. DC hasn't been corrected.)

**To make your responses to the election results, please quote this entire comment**

Robert Wentworth:

”This great display by the electors showed that this great experiment has passed its first test. I want to congratulate President Blunt, and Vice-President Lewis on their victory. They have a balance of experience, and the type of conciliatory views that our nation needs, and I was glad to support these men for the offices they now hold. I also wish to help them achieve success, either in a cabinet position or in Congress. Once the new administration announces its intent for the cabinet, I will make a decision whether to represent the great state of New Hampshire in Congress. Our country has done its first duty, now comes the hard part, uniting behind our new President and Vice President.”

Chief Justice: Lowell Cabot Lowell of MA (Federalist)

Associate Justices: William Alexander Blount of NC, Timothy Stockton of NJ, William Rodney of DE, John Johnson of RI, and Thomas Lundie of VA.

At Beacon Hill in Boston:

Lowell Cabot Lowell, Trowbridge Dana, and Wigglesworth Frothingham arrive to the home of Dudley Winthrop to inform Winthrop of the presidents decision. Winthrop, who does not read the news or check his mail, would have otherwise been oblivious of his new position for months if not the constant watchfulness of his cronies.

Lowell: Mr. Winthrop!

Winthrop: What, What!?

Lowell: You are to go to Paris.

Winthrop: Paris?!

Dana: Yes, sir. Here is the letter from President Bunt.

Winthrop: Oh, yes. Bump. You've mention him before.

Frothingham: Bunt, sir.

Winthrop: No, thank you.

Dana: Sign here, sir.

[Winthrop does so]

Lowell: You are now the Ambassador to France, sir. I am the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Winthrop: I see.

Frothingham: Our power is growing in this new nation. We have received assurances that Mr. Dana and I will be the US Senators for our state.

Dana: And Mr. Lowell will be able to choose his successor as governor, since he is taking the Chief Justice position

Lowell: Massachusetts will lead the nation, gentlemen!

Winthrop: Are we all going to Paris?

Lowell: No, sir. Only you. We will remain here.

Winthrop: Me, all alone?

Lowell: You will represent our entire country to the Kingdom of France, our allies.

Winthrop: I have no care for the frogs, but I will go if I must. What of my company?

Lowell: You and I can't take much part in it for the time being, but Mr. Dana and Mr. Frothingham will see that it is still going strong when you return.

Winthrop: Very well. Send my acceptance to President Bump.

Frothingham: Bunt, sir.

"I am surprised a federalist president wouldn't support a federalist lawyer,a lawyer who is trying to progress our world for the better, for the betterment of our citizens lives,if he did choose me as a member of his cabinet i would have started helping our country progress to the true all men are created equal. This shows why we can not have grave roaming wigheads at the helm of our country, they will be driven on corruption and money,it is sad."-MikVinski on Bunts cabinet picks ,and not selecting MikVinski as a member

I am very proud to be part of our first president's cabinet. While I do realize that I would definitely would have liked to see more of a balance between Anti-Federalists and Federalists, I will work to the best of my abilities to serve my country.

Wil Thackery: it is an honor to be one of the guiding men of this republic- if we can keep it as one. Our nation has been blessed with a gift of natural resources that guide us forward. And she's been blessed the wisest individuals capable to govern. We've seen first hand the experiment of a confederacy has done to the republic. Hopefully this new experiment under the constitution will last long enough for our grandchildren to enjoy. Long enough to allow them to thrive.

[When I next have time, I will post the state governors, and the US Senate results (legislatures picked Senators). Everyone else, who is not a US Senator, Governor, or cabinet member will have an option to be in the US House or a private citizen]
