1968: Back to Congress

Recommended Posts

I made an interesting ending with Kennedy in 1968 against Nixon

Then the pop-up that the Congress is dominated by the Democrats, BOBBY KENNEDY IS ELECTED PRESIDENT :P

I checked the Senate, there is also a majority so McCarthy could become VP :D

I don't know if electors were bound by his word though; southern democrats were still a huge part of this time, and while a few would go to Nixon more would probably go to a Democrat.

In fact, before and after his 1968 Presidential run, Wallace himself was officially a Southern Democrat by label, on the ballot, and by organizational association.

southerns hated rfk thought.

On another point they were economically left as Robert and the Northern Democrats were, and unlike Nixon was

So in the End, I think they would all have voted for Jep Bush

Southern Democrats were economically moderate at the time. I am sure the Democratic Party destroyed their influence among Southern Whites after the infamous 1965 civil rights thing. The plan G. C.Wallace followed which ran along the lines: if i can get conservative vote away from Nixon, there will be no winner in the EC. There's no question that Wallace Democrats would have supported Nixon if he gave them something.
