The South Dakota Menace

Dole Launches Nationwide Ad on Culture

To the American People;

One of the most important things about life is culture.

Culture gets us through the toughest of times, and helps us unite with each other.

Luckily, there is a Presidential campaign built on culture.

And this campaign is the Dole Campaign.

I have been endorsed by many influential people on culture...

Religious, entertainment, business, and others.

I have shown that I care about everyone's individual culture,

And will protect people from scrutiny.

I am Bob Dole, and I support this message.

Roger Ailes Announces his endorsement of Dole in Sioux Falls, South Dakota (Free Event)

I am a media man; I have been working with something social all my life, and spreading news and stories across the nation has been my dream. I have worked with past political campaigns, notably Nixon’s and Reagan’s. Today I am endorsing Dole because I believe he is the best candidate to beat the Democrats this election year. I will be offering Dole my media expertise, which will hopefully help him spread his positive messages all across America.

Ann McLaughlin Announces her endorsement of Dole in Rapid City, South Dakota (Free Event)

Labor issues are special because they are constantly reoccuring across the country. Even if the country had the best labor policies in existence, there would still be labor issues. This is where we have to decide as Americans how we address labor. If we know issues will happen, we need a President who is down to earth and honest with the American people enough to have their trust. I believe Bob Dole would fulfill this, and have the best position to address labor issues across the country.

Dole and Governor Mickelson barnstorm on Issue Familiarity in Aberdeen, South Dakota (1 Event w/ Surrogate)

It is important to me to represent the beliefs of every American. In my campaign,, I have shown that I take time to address the many ideas People have across the Nation. I am here with Mickelson to show that I will work with leaders across the nation to get the most up to date information on the status of issues across the country. If any of you have any questions, please consult my staff and they will answer every question. Thank you all, and make sure to go out and support Dole!

Dole and Mickelson rally on State's Rights in Brookings, South Dakota (1 Event w/ Surrogate)

Mickelson has done great deeds for this State. As President I won't step on his turf illegitimately. A key part of my presidency would be working with, not stepping around, leaders across the nation. Smaller governments can administrate smaller areas better, which is why an efficient Federal Government works with every small government to create the most effective policies possible.

Dole and Senator Pressler barnstorm on Integrity in Watertown, South Dakota (1 Event w/ Surrogate)

The one attack people have done to me a lot is question my integrity. It may seem like because I am a leader in the Senate that I am some corrupt establishment hack. This is just purely wrong, and Pressler can confirm that. I am genuine, and I work hard to keep that image true. So, I can wholeheartedly promise the American People that my heart is out of this job, and I refuse to fall into any sort of corruption or lying.

Dole and Pressler rally on Conservatism in Mitchell, South Dakota (1 Event w/ Surrogate)

It is important to recognize what conservatism means. Pressler and I have worked hard in the Senate to represent our beliefs, but what are those beliefs? How would you summarize them? Well, what Pressler and I do on a daily basis is figure out the general scope of conservatism, and then base policies off of that. Conservatives are people that are content with the current status of society, or some past form of society. However, just because we are content with it does not mean we are anti-progress. We just believe in the realistic ideas that hold our country together, and we typically don't support political experimentation.

Dole and Gerald Ford rally on Unity in Yankton, South Dakota (1 Event w/ Surrogate)

I am here with Ford, the man who had to unite the country in a time of executive distrust. I respect this man a lot, and he has inspired me on many things in relation to staffing. As President, my staff will be a staff from the widest range of beliefs possible. I will have advisers from every political belief, and these advisers would inform me what their people believe. It is important to be exposed to every belief in America in order to unite America.

Dole and Richard Nixon rally on Communication in Pierre, South Dakota (1 Event w/ Surrogate)

Communication is key to a campaign. When Nixon did his campaigning, communication was key to reaching out to the everyday American. Many things can   be learned by this campaign strategy, and how it positively impacts Americans across the world. As President, I would communicate with the People frequently and with honesty. This is important, because a strong connection between politicians and the People is key to a strong unity.

Dole and Senator Simpson barnstorm on Chamber Affairs in Cheyenne, Wyoming (1 Event w/ Surrogate)

An important thing to realize is that the Senate is its own environment. There are multiple rules and situations that occur on a daily basis. As Senators, we must accompany ourselves with these rules, and then follow these rules to best represent the American People. It can get hard at times, but the Senate is a chamber where we are more focused on the People than party politics, at least that is what me and Simpson believe.

Dole and Simpson rally on Energy in Casper, Wyoming (1 Event w/ Surrogate)

Energy security is important to this nation. Without a source of energy, our infrastructure could crumble easily. This is why we need to acknowledge advances in green technology, and experiment with the incorporation of this technology into our current uses of coal and oil. Fossil fuels are not bad, but they won't last forever. We must work with every available option to secure our energy future.

Dole and Former Governor Hathaway barnstorm on Farming in Gillette, Wyoming (1 Event w/ Surrogate)

I have spoken a lot about farming in the campaign, but let me say this again; I stand with the farmers. Luckily, Hathaway has strong knowledge on farming, especially since he was governor during the addition of multiple technologies to farming. With his expertise, I can create policies to best help farmers adapt to the changing atmosphere of agriculture.

Bush and Cheney hit up Laramie, Wyoming, about transportation (1/2 HP Event w/ Surrogate)

Everyone, listen up. Transportation gets us places, and we need to make sure transportation can happen. Today, we are talkin roads folks. Roads are key to driving. Try driving in a forest, you won't get far without a road. So folks, Dole stands for the roads. He will make sure People are connected, so people can drive wherever they please.

Bush and Cheney hit up Rock Springs, Wyoming, about the meat industry (2/2 HP Event w/ Surrogate)

The meat industry is big. Especially in Wyoming, our economy is based on agriculture and ranching. Meat is important, and as of right now technologies are evolving. We must evolve with technology, but still keep our culture strong. Dole stands for fair policies with both business and farms, so with a Dole presidency, Wyoming's meat future is secured!

Stassen runs ad (and this is my ad for the day) in Minnesota.

-Harold stassen sits in a chair looking into the camera in his Navy Garb-

"Fellow Minnesotans, I am asking today, for your vote, I was a 3 term governor, right here, in Minnesota. I cut taxes 6 times, I fought the federal government on states rights, I have been fighting for Minnesotans for the last 40 years running for offices to carry your message.

I was a Lt Commander in the Navy, and I am ready to lead and serve you in Minnesota again.

My team tells me this will be the last campaign ad that we can afford unless we start winning, so today, when you go vote, vote for the only leader and anti establishment candidate in the race.

I am Commander Stassen, I am asking for your vote, and you better believe I approve this message."

Um... he hasn't been involved with this at all, why should he be allowed to join in out of the blue? I barely know the man, and while I know he's been on these forums for a while won't his style make changes to this RP that could mess up the current model?

Or, as you actually Loki and this is your alt account for RP?

I intend to let @RP Overlord decide the results. I'm here to add flavor, experience, and maybe moderate debates here and there. I look forward to getting to know you, and I appreciate the concern. @RP Overlord is still the final word on anything, and I reserve for him his right to still moderate as he sees fit. I am just an assistant.

Breaking News from the Soviet Union!

Riots and Chaos envelop Sumgait, Azerbaijan, in the Soviet Union.

Just now we have enough to broadcast, A small contingent of Soviet soldiers have entered the city to attempt to quell the riots, as of now, 17 ethnic Armenians have been killed by Azerbaijani rioters, and they seem to be the obvious targets. Local police have been described as apathetic at what has been described as a "Popular Genocide" by the Premier of the Armenian SSR. The Soviet Union seems to be entirely unable to keep control of all of the Soviet Socialist Republics, and the riots are ongoing. So far, Rape and Murder have been reported to be widespread in the City of Sumgait, and we can only pray for the futures of those at risk.

Many ethnic Armenians have been reported as arming themselves with improvised weapons and barricading their homes in an effort to protect themselves from the ongoing Riots. Armenian Genocide has happened before, in 1915, and many are rushing to compare the current events to those of 1915. On February 27, Soviet Deputy Federal Procurator, Aleksandr Katusev, announced on Baku Radio and Central Television, that two Azerbaijani youths, Bakhtiyar Guliyev and Ali Hajiyev, were killed in a clash between Armenians and Azerbaijanis near Agdam, apparently sparking the riots. Many of the weapons used by the Rioters appear to be handmade, suggesting at least some preparation. Soviet Military sources report that Alcohol and Narcotics have also been brought in by the truckload distributed to the crowds by Azerbaijani forces.

The Soviet Politburo has been slow in reacting, apparently hoping to avoid the issue, however martial law is on the table once again as the Soviet Union hopes to quell the Riots with a minimum of bloodshed. MVD Soldiers have already entered the city, armed with riot gear, and blanks. These soldiers have been reported to be maimed with steel objects, and several Armored Personnel Carriers, or APCs for short, have been disabled by flipping or Molotov Cocktails. The last report suggests that the MVD has been driven out in disarray, with over a dozen injured, though the Soviets have released no official figures.

Final Push Before Feb. 23 Contests

Mondale Joins Ferraro in Eden Prairie, Minnesota; Discusses Healthcare Reform

Mondale: “Gerry Ferraro has a bold vision for healthcare: universal health insurance, a Children’s Health Insurance Program, a ban on discrimination against those with pre-existing conditions, and coverage of essential health benefits by all plans. This will give millions of Americans the access to quality healthcare they deserve and ensure a higher quality of healthcare coverage in this country. This is true healthcare reform and I’m proud to be supporting Gerry so she can make this happen.”

Perpich Joins Ferraro in Blaine, Minnesota; Talks Women’s Rights

Ferraro: “Gov. Perpich has been working to promote a more inclusive administration and that includes helping to empower women. I am proud to be a champion for women’s rights, to be pushing for equal pay, addressing violence against women, working to get more women elected to office, and fighting to protect women’s health. Women’s rights are human rights, Gov. Perpich recognizes this and I do too so let’s help protect them by electing the first woman president this November!”

McCarthy Joins Ferraro in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Speaks About Fair Trade Deals

McCarthy: “We need to be working to negotiate fair trade deals, not free trade deals, and that’s something Geraldine recognizes. That’s why she will make sure that any trade deals we negotiate with protect American businesses and American workers while ensuring a level playing field with our trade partners by guaranteeing adequate labor and environmental standards. It is important to lower trade barriers for American goods but it is also equally important to make sure America gets a good deal and if Geraldine is president she will make sure that happens.”
