Israel 2015

Recommended Posts

In a bid to get Anthony to work on PR I've decided to make an Israel 2015 scenario I've worked out what the leaders, events, percentages and debate dates will be so far

Leaders & Parties

Likud: Benjamin Netanyahu, Danny Danon, Moshe Feiglin

Zionist union: Isaac Herzog, Tzipi Livni, Shelly Yachimovich

Joint list: Ayman Odeh

Yesh Atid: Yair Lapid

Kulanu: Moshe Kahlon

Bayit Yehudi(jewish home): Naftali Bennett, Rabbi Shimon Or

Yisrael Beitenu: Avigdor Lieberman

United torah judaism: Yaakov Litzman

Shas: Aryeh Deri

Meretz: Zehava Gal-On, Nitzan Horowitz

Yachad: Eli Yishai

Ale Yarok: Oren Lebovitch

Events

1/5 - The site where Jesus may have been tried, prior to his crucifixion, opens to the public for the first time

1/18 - Israeli helicopters attacked a Hezbollah convoy in the Syrian-controlled part of Golan Heights

1/21 - stabbing attack in Tel Aviv

1/22 -  Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi resigns

1/28 - Hezbollah fires an anti-tank missile at an Israeli military convoy

2/16 - Egypt begins airstrikes against ISIS targets in Libya and Sinai

percentages

http://votes20.gov.il/cityresults?cityID=176

It'll be translated to English when I make the scenario.

Debates

2/28 - Debate date

Issues

War on terror

Lebanon

Gaza

Palestinian demands (this encompasses a wide-range of palestinian-Israeli conflict related issues like Judea-Samaria housing construction, land for peace etc.)

Jewish state proposal

Iran

Economic policy

Housing

Affirmative action [for poor residents]

Status of judea and Samaria [like supporting a settlement construction freeze]

Unions

Abortion(I did some research and found out aside from the occasional nasty remark same-sex marriage isn't a big issue in Israel though there's organizations that try to dissuade people from getting abortions and this is till a relevant moral question.)

Draft evasion

Crime

Marjuiana legalization( included because of ale yarok party)

Corruption

Defense spending

Enviroment

Taxes

Miliatary intervention

Syrian Refugees

Zionism [as an ideology]

I'm interested in playing it especially if PR is implemented. I know almost nothing about the politics of Israel, however.

The main reason i'm making this is so Anthony will implement PR and to have a more modern Israel scenario.

Not that they have any chance of winning, though Ben-Gurion's government coalitions often relied upon a lot of them in the early days of the country, but what about the Arab parties and lists?

Anthony said he's considering adding in coalition negotiations so I included them. with a fully completed PR campaign (enough to be an official one for the update maybe he'll add PR)

I could envision  Meretz possibly joining with the joint list (it may be a bit of a long shot but its more realistic than Labor doing such.

@Patine @SirLagsalott @jvikings1 and anyone else interested in this scenario i updated my orgininal posts with events.

When I have the time, I could help you find more relevant (not saying these are irrelevant; just saying I could help find more event relevant to the scenario) events to add.

Once I have everything sorted out I'll make the scenario.

@admin_270 Since the percentages will be a lot of work I'm only making this if I can get a guarantee that D'Hondt(or some other method) of PR will be added sometime in the near future.

I'd like to get a good number of guarantees out of Anthony. But he's VERY careful about giving his word, so he doesn't have to flagrantly break it. A lesson politicians could learn (except they'd never get elected if they didn't potentially empty promises on the campaign trail).

If he adds it I'll give him the campaign to include as the official one for that update.

By the way, I thought Livni had her own party in 2015. I can't quite remember the name now - started with a 'y' I think (at least when Romanized).

I'm thinking of someone else and a different party then.
